epic
-ideally want it to last me a few years
-i do streaming/content creation regularly
-budget is 1500-1700 USD dollars
-m-atx motherboard
-rgb isnt needed but isnt a turnoff either
-planning on using steam/obs davinci resolve regularly
-probably buying ASAP
-wifi connectivity needed but otherwise i have everything else|
-not opposed to prebuilt but would also be willing to build my own PC
Nxbulaa_ System
Are you in the US?
so far this is what i've got selected
why that cooler
could i ask maybe a particular question
go ahead
how difficult/possible would it be for you guys to try and source stuff from the st. louis park mn micro center?
yeah, thats understandable
i mean we can spec out the system in pcpartpicker
and then you can go to MC and ask
i suppose
Microcenter's part selection is incredibly limited, unfortunately
you want an MATX system right?
not required, that was just the board we settled on in dms
What resolution are you gaming at?
it's just cheaper
since he's said he's not gonna be using a capture card
I just figured matx would work
i dont have any specific preference for gpu/cpu
@vivid dagger https://pcpartpicker.com/list/M76GJM feel like I missed a good cheaper PSU somewhere
PC Builder - Intel Core i5-12600K, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti LHR, Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower
only RGB is on the case and you can just not plug it in if you wish
what is wrong with p360a
if i were to toss another 200 usd in there what could you get me?
ah sorry the front panel isnt glass
low res image makes it look like it
better GPU but 3060ti is overkill for 1080p already
even for 360hz?
The -A in Phanteks cases stands for airflow
i see
P360 Airflow
maybe a couple more cores from a 12700 or some more storage
oooh 3070 is only 50 more
for the even more overkill aspect
Revo DF and phanteks
unless the case is changed
sadly H510 flow and NR600 are 90 right now
the US case market is horrible
@trail patio I wonder if Revo D.F fits in H510 flow
It should
or lancool 205 mesh
It fits in an H510 from what I understand
both 85 at his local MC
Recording at 1080p60, Rocket is gonna be way overkill
@vivid dagger what do you think about getting the case at MC?
i could go smaller on the SSD, i usually drop my captures on a fat HDD
couple more options there
Even something basic like an MP33 would be great still
id prefer to be able to get all the parts at MC so that works for me
@vivid dagger https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gMmXRv
My take on the list
PC Builder - Intel Core i7-12700, GeForce RTX 3070 LHR, Cooler Master MasterBox NR400 (w/ODD) MicroATX Mid Tower
Why not? It's a solid all round board
yeah but the bios is a mess
@mellow pulsar change RAM to aegis since he isn't interested in RGB
That's subjective
Is HCG fixed?
Oh, I didn't know that
I thought it was old Focus
all the bad focus are out of production
why not crucial ballistix c16 3600?
unless he gets old stock he is fine
It should be, to my knowledge. If not, there's the Earthwatts for a bit more
GF1 PE cheaper than HCG
Oh yeah, apparently the GF1 internals were changed at some point
@vivid dagger and this is why you want multiple people
I lack knowledge or context, but Juular mentioned it
oh wtf when did the Leadex III 750W get so expensive
might still be but modified a bit differently

isn't RM a heavily modified GPS
these >
I believe it is
that whole line of crucial ballistix c16 memory doesnt really bin, so a 3200mhz kit can likely do 3600mhz no problem
Not paying $80 for a 16GB kit >>>
wouldn't that be 160 for 32gb?
Not everyone does RAM OC, Ballistix isn’t useful unless you’re insane and like to OC RAM
lol
Unless it’s the cheapest or close to cheapest option, don’t bother
Neo Forza FAYE 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-4000 CL19 Memory (NMUD416E82-4000FG20)
i dont really trust myself with OC i should mention
I think he is hinting at someone

he means me
Modern overclocking is extremely difficult to mess up
I wonder what that bin is
No idea

nice. I got 4733 cl18 on mine
im running a zen3 cpu
I only have 3200 C14 on my Rev E
my IF doesnt go up to 4k
Lotta limitations on Zen+
5700g. zen 3, but stupid for RAM

5600x
That doesn't have wifi
where is the WIFI
who needs built in wifi
he does
hi
He needs wifi
ok watch
because you can get a cheaper board with a wifi card
i also have a grudge against msi
MATX boards don't really have a ton of PCIe real estate for a WIFI card
A board as good as the B660 A Pro, at that
true but the only pcie device he'd have is the gpu
ask stain about his MATX board hunt with that
and in your case a WIFI card
You want thunderbolt support? You have it
unless you are suggesting USB WIFI
USB WiFi….
ok no usb wifi sucks
Although, it's weird to have 4 display out ports on a board so cheap
5000G are the best ryzen CPUs for RAM OC
Weirdly enough, meta office motherboard
True, I suppose
not the greatest CPU performance but who cares when you can do this
For the office workloads that require a shit ton of cross referencing, slap an IGP and 4 displays on there
ok but that's not the use case here
I’m just raving about how good this “shit” MSI board is
Very subjective
Your brand loyalty shouldn't be pushed onto other people
Gigashit and Biostar have something to say to you
Uh huh
All BIOSes suck
nice bios there
Just cope with one that sucks less than Giga
Whatever you wanna call it, keep it away from support channels
🧻
It’s functional
Personally my favourite BIOS so far is Asus but I don't use that to dictate my suggestions
Most people hit XMP and never go into BIOS again
@vivid dagger How's things going over there?
ehh "game boost" can increase cpu voltage to dangerous levels
oh, i'm just reading haha
Okay
so functional is a stretch
Welcome to your average PCMR debate
The Gigabyte board you sent has shit BIOS too, what’s your point hehe
what gigabyte board
average internet* debate
i posted an asus board
Oh fuck that was Grave
It is an optional "feature" which is usually advised against, anyways. All auto OC software sucks on every manufacturer
Auto OC sucks, turn it off
It's no surprise MSI's does, too
yes
is this what we're running with?
I thought MC wasn't a requirement
Ooo a thread
I don’t think it is, but if not for MC, wouldn’t an A60 make more sense. Unless you’re trying to push for a dedicated DRAM cache instead of HMB
The ssd price is quite high
Suprisingly SN750 SE is cheaper
