Cool thanks
yeah no problem
Ok so I have a MSI Z590 Pro WiFi, intel i7-10700f, single stick of 16gb PNY DDR4 memory, Corsair CX750M and a GeForce RTX GPU but I forget what model. About 2 weeks ago my house was hit by lightning and it got my modem which also got my PC because it was wired through Ethernet. I’ve replaced the mobo, CPU, ram, tried all dimm slots on new board with new and old ram, tried re setting cmos, checked all connections to make sure I have good connection and I’m still being mocked by this yellow debug light for DRAM. I’m lost at this point 🙃
do you have any other ram sticks aside the ones that were in the pc when it the lightning did strike ?
The brand new one I just got is the only other DDR4 stick I have. I pulled out 2 sticks of Kingston hyper X fury that where in the machine when it was hit and I wishingly tried both in all 4 slots and nothing changed
I did also make sure the new memory was compatible with the board on the MSI website
okey wait so you replaced your ram and still dram issue. dram issues could be made by a lot of other things. im guessing its not insufficent power but do you have a multimeter ?
maybe the power supply is very friend and is not able to supply power
I did and yes I do. Do you know what pins to check and voltage they should be at?
im not exactly sure what psu you have its good to have the mustard cable psus lol even if it doesnt look good
you should chheck the 24 pin connector 8 pin for gpu and cpu
main concern now is 24 pin and the 4 or 6 pin for cpu
also could be a bad cpu since memory and cpu are very close to each other
i will send you a diagram
24 pin should have 12v
Ok give me a few and I’ll check. I replaced CPU too
Corsair CX750M
oh i see
i just was helping a guy with the same/simmilar psu
it was dead
but not from lightning
they are good though, sometimes they fail but yeah
since the cables are all black and not color coded you will have to go by the notches and count
if you have a multimeter im guessing you know how to measure it correct ?
oh also get a paper clip and short two pins to turn it on
to turn it on you need to connect theese two together
Ok I’m having some trouble finding my multimeter at the moment so I may need to grab mine from work and try this tomorrow but thank you for pointing me in a direction I hadn’t even thought about. Do you want me to keep you updated as I try??
deffinetly
