before any of this though @quasi mauve did you make sure the drives was showing up in storage locations on steam, or was it jsut one drive ?
yes, the drive is showing up on steam and seems to be working
i should point out the fact that i told windows to NOT keep my old files after installing by the way, so all of my games were installed through a clean install
ahh , okay , in that case, te recomendarie reinstallar de nuevo , es un disco duro , o es un hdd
lol my spanish no lo practico tanto
don't worry about it, i understand english just fine!
its an SSD, though reinstalling everything seems like the way to go so i guess i'll try that and come back if it doesnt work
before you do that
reinstalling from a clean windows usb , not the local reinstall, usually those dont do so well, did you also upgrade the pc parts because if you are on windows 10, it only has until october 2025, might want to jump straight to 11 if your computer supports it
oh i did install straight from my SSD, that could be part of the issue then i guess, though i dont have a big enough usb to install windows 10 from that
also i did upgrade a couple things on my pc, but it doesn't support windows 11
i'm planning on staying on windows 10 for as long as possible with the security issues and everything because windows 11 SUCKS
i used it myself for a while and i didn't like it
when it came out, it did suck with all the bugs , but since its been out for like 3 years its pretty solid, what did you upgrade , the most important part is cpu, sometimes your pc will say it doesnt but it does , just need to change a settin in the bios , but thats usually with 8th gen intel and 2nd gen ryzen , technically some chips 1 gen older do work
what size usb do you have doenst need to be too big , 8gb should be good
upgraded my amount of ram (2GB > 8GB) and my hard drive (HDD > SSD)
the cpu in question is a pentium dual-core E5800 3.20 GHz and the bios is NOT UEFI because i haven't really had any issues related to that so i haven't bothered on upgrading that
also last time i used windows 11 was a couple months ago, somewhere around january/february
usually, yeah, the most resource intensive game i've played so far has been TF2 which actually runs decently, surprisingly
well if you ever plan to upgrade stuff like this https://a.co/d/7kxgfm5 are huuuuge improvements to what you are used to lol, specially the built in graphics, pop any low end to mid tier card and you are golden
