These dual monitors are insane

#

4k 240 or 1080p 480hz

#

OLED

I fully expect someone to steal the mouse that was next to it in the original pic.

32 inch 1080p sounds pretty nasty to me.

Got the PCMR Award as well

#

This one is quite interesting at 39 inches

narrow granite
#

And they are pushing their BTF cableless builds

#

I guess that's one way to get rid of the 12vhpwr

#

600 watts right there is kinda crazy

quick pecan
#

So is this specific card only available in their pre-builts?

narrow granite
#

I believe you will be able to buy all of this and build yourself

#

But you need a compatible case, which I believe many will be soon(ish)

#

and a compatible motherboard, of course, asus

quick pecan
narrow granite
#

it is

#

you connect 3 pci-e 8 pins on the motherboard's back

quick pecan
#

Clever.

torn sandal
#

I wonder how much they will ask for that monitor. Like 2 grand?

quick pecan
#

One of the other companies with the same thing has it at $1500 if I remember correctly.

narrow granite
#

I think it will be closer to 1500, yeah

#

somewhere between 1300 to 1600

#

@quick pecan

oh nice, BOTH

#

should always have been both tbh

#

And asus saw it coming with the cable issues so they did that

#

Their connector does look smoll tho

unborn coyote

Time will tell

narrow granite
#

Indeed

#

Interesting as long as we don't get it too locked

And many current Oled screens actually don’t burn in much

Microled roadmap

torn garden
#

Ah

torn garden
limpid crest
#

We won't get the replacement until 2030 all because someone smart in LG and Samsung decided to do a "research" to prolong the life of OLED

limpid crest
#

If you are using it 8 hours per day, 5 days per week on average it should take around 2 years or below to burn in

#

People often use the argument "my OLED TV or something or phone lasted longer" yes it's because the voltage isn't as pushed as on gaming monitor

torn garden
#

Current gen OLED panels can already do quite well

limpid crest
#

Not at such heat

torn garden
#

Samsung’s QD OLEDs are surprising, as they have had very little burn in in RTING’s 10 month mark

limpid crest
#

60hz OLED is fine

torn garden
#

These 2 are Samsung’s QLED tvs

#

Most left is new most right is 4 years of use

#

Zero burn in which is quite suprising

#

They are currently testing the G8 and AW34, and they are both at the 2 year mark

#

Let’s see what will happen with those

#

Most likely the same as the TVs

limpid crest
#

Don't compare 60 hz to 240 hz monitor

torn garden
#

Burn in isnt as the name suggests, it doesn’t literally burn

limpid crest
#

Ik

torn garden
#

It happens when the chemicals in the blue sun pixels start naturally dying

torn garden
limpid crest
#

It leaves specks on the image

torn garden
#

Another 10 months and rtings is gonna drop their next update

#

By that time the G8 will have been tested for 6 years of use

limpid crest
#

There is shitload of reports of past OLED gaming monitors burning in not even 4 months after the release

torn garden
#

Currently most Oled gaming monitors are QD OLEDs from Samsung

#

And those are wuite the bit more resilient than other OLEDs

torn garden
#

Issues with Oled ig, also once again, depends on mode

#

Model*

#

oh and I don’t think we’ll have OLED for that long

#

Current research to develope a gallium mixture for the blue sub pixel that is just as responsive, colourful and bright without it dying to fast

quick pecan

Tf was I thinking

torn garden
#

It was an issue on the firmware side of things

#

After Samsung fixed it QD Oled became a lot more resilient

covert otter

even 27 inch 1080p is pretty gross and 32 inch 1080p what the helllll

#

you could see the pixels from mars

harsh seal

You should ses the pixels from like 12ft away if u look hard enough

Is it?

The old tv in the living room

I think it's 60 bcs the new one is 60 and looks the same as the old one

Yea we have to sit like 12ft away lol

SFF builds and less cables to deal with is always a win win situation.

torn garden
#

Might even be more of a pain in the ass to build

narrow granite
#

You need to route them anyway, how could it be more of a pain than now?

torn garden
#

but then again I've never even touched itx so im likely wrong

oblique patio
#

In this case with BTF though it'll eliminate the need for a GPU power cable/s, which is one less pressing issue to deal with.

#

To mitigate the need for rear power connectors on ITX perhaps sideway orientated ones could work, much like how EVGA did with some of their boards.

#

It would remove the need for specially designed cases just to accommodate cables behind the motherboard, but you'd need to plan your cable routing a bit more carefully.

Would definitely warrant shorter custom PSU cables.

#

Despite the ASUS rep at CES saying BTF is mainly for aesthetic purposes, there is a true need/possibility for improved airflow and space optimisation in ITX cases whilst also removing points of failure which this feature can fix somewhat.

narrow granite
#

about airflow, I'm always reminded of that LTT test where they stuffed a case with all kinds of crap and the temps were mostly the same as with a perfectly clean and cable managed case

I hope ASUS has some sort of burn in warranty for their new oleds. I know lg and Corsair have it

And microled won't come until 2030 at earliest

#

can't be as bad as reg ips

limpid crest
#

If you are opting for the longevity and if you are working on the monitor premium IPS monitors are way to go until 2030

WOLED can hold for above 3000 hours(testing by the customers is still ongoing) which would be alright for couple of years if you are work outside person but it has the issues of it's own like the color accuracy and display being too dim. It will degrade slower than OLED tho

I'm sorry but 1080 480 why

nobody could tell the difference between 240 and 360 let alone 360 and 480

quick pecan

Not many, granted, but some.

lethal nebula
#

Fighter pilots can't even notice a single black frame in a video of white frames above 320 I highly doubt someone will be able to tell the difference in 360 and 480. That's a difference of .7 milliseconds per frame. It's not even a full millisecond of difference.
