@crude coral can we continue chat in here?
okay
nice
thank you
I can explain
so I wanna connect my deepcool fan to my motherboard rgb but idk if it’s the correct cable
ive had the fans in a fan controller where that changes the the rgb
but they support rgb sync so they work with the software on pc
there is this port on the fan
i’m unsure if this is just for the fan controller
or for rgb on motherboard
okay so thats a RGB/Fan power cable, 1 pin is for fan speed, the other 3 are for R,G,B
okay
you should be able to plug it into a RGB connector on your mobo but DONT DO IT YET
I have a port on my motherboard called JRGB1
I think i’m meant to have a different plug tho but i’m not sure
is that the same as jrgb1
yeah, but your mobo has 2 of them in case you want 2 controller
what I did for my RGB strip that I have on my desk is I plug it into a connector on my mobo and then in software i can control it
the problem I see with plugging in a fan to RGB port is that you wouldnt be able to control fan speed, be default its full blast and very loud
yea idc that much
it’s worth it
I think I need the other cable to do the rgb with the circles
just make sure when you plug it in you dont plug it into Jaud1 or something
if you only have 1 fan that you wanna plug in then you can just plug it directly into the jrgb1
dont do it yet
yea it’s just the 1
I won’t
k good
the canble also can plug into the rgb controller
in that case you dont really need the controller
I can show you a picture
sure
as far as I know it will work
i did the same thing on my pc but with RGB strip instead of fan
I don’t wanna brick my motherboard
just incase it’s wrong
then I suggest you do more research before you plug it in, just to be safe
@crude coral that connector isn't an RGB connector. It won't fit into a standard RGB header
Are the fans using molex?
yea but somehow ik you can sync it to the motherboard
You can't
I can link you the fans
Sure

if I cannot sync them do you have any rgb fans that can do that I have £50
or should I buy a new case with rgb fans
also thanks for helping me
How many fans are you using?
just the 1
at the back
I don’t have the front fan plugged in on the case because it’s molex
and it’s ugly
and idk if I can remove it
You can, but that's a different topic
Actually, you should replace the front molex fan with the RF120
then I wouldn’t have a fan at the back
The cooler will do the job of exhaust. Getting cool air into the case is a lot more important than exhausting hot air
can you sync the corsair fans with the rgb
Wait you have Corsair fans?
no but I wanna buy them
Don't
Now I don't know what you want to do. If you just want to plug the fan in, here
Avoid buying Corsair fans
?fantable
Instead, consider these options
Yes, with their own proprietary connection and software
Meaning you'd need a specific software to control only the Corsair fans, then something different for everything else
And iCUE is terrible software
is there anyway to remove the front fan without taking out my psu to reach the screw
By opening the side panel and reaching under the PSU shroud, yes
You don't need to remove the PSU
there’s like a tiny gap
It's as good as you get
I have £50 and i’ll probably want like 2-3 fans, what would you recomend
Arctic P12 ARGB
@crude coral https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FQ6p99/arctic-p12-pst-a-rgb-0db-488-cfm-120-mm-fans-3-pack-acfan00232a
Which motherboard do you have?
MSI B450M MORTAR MAX Motherboard mATX, AM4, DDR4, LAN, USB 3.2 Gen2, TYPE-C, M.2, Mystic Light Sync, HDMI, Display Port, AMD RYZEN 1st, 2nd and 3rd Gen Ready https://amzn.eu/d/6enREef
That board doesn't have any ARGB headers, so if you want to use the P12's RGB, you'll need either an ARGB controller or a hub
can I still sync my rgb to my motherboard and control it with software
You'll have to use the controller
I don't think there's a way to use motherboard software when you don't have any ARGB headers on the board itself
I also realize a hub won't work for the same reason
so without a motherboard upgrade it isn’t possible to control the argb fans with software
would a deepcool water cooler also connect the same way? ik theres a plug to daisy chain the other fans
If said cooler is RGB and not ARGB, it'll work with the motherboard
okay thanks
@frozen lance I think my fan is just rgb and not argb
Yes
does that mean if I get an rgb cable it’ll worl
