hold your switch upside down in handheld mode. dont have any controllers be connected to the switch, only the joycons in handheld. inkay must be above lvl 30, and can only evolve via rare candy or during battle (exp candy doesnt work). just turn your switch when you defeated the mon or before u open the menu (if u choose the rare candy option)
