BTW, Meowsquarada is the single fastest starter Pokémon. EVER.

Debatable.

With the ground type it has to deal with the double weakness to ice, and has compete with Garchomp, who has the exact same type. Ground is also a super common type and a lot of people have counters prepared specifically for it.

If it was bug, it would have one additional weakness, but no double weaknesses.

The charizard one, yes, but the Gyrados one is more likely because dragon type was a last minute addition to Gen 1, hence why there's only one evolutionary dragon type line and one dragon type move in Gen 1.

• Not double weak to ice
• Now resists Water
• Now resists Grass
• Would likely be given more Bug moves since it would've had its movepool designed with bug type in mind
• Still gets Earthquake as a coverage move
• Has explicit counters to Dark, Psychic, and Grass types
• We finally have a type combination for every type and dragon type.

Besides, at the end of the day, a Pokémon's typing isn't often what determines whether or not it's good, it's usually it's stats, abilities, and learnset.

Flygon is a beast in all those things, so it's not gonna get drastically worse by changing its type.

Welp, I was foolish in my Red Nuzlocke. Wandered into the electric complex (where Zapdos is, don't remember the name). 1-hit killed a magnemite with a crit (because of course). Noticed I was really tight level-wise but bravely (some say idiotically) decided to keep going. Raticate (lvl 33) got blown up by a level 35-40 Electrode with Selfdestruct. Used escape rope right after. Very cool expedition.

Current team: Alakazam, Snorlax, Gyarados, Vileplume, Tentacruel, [free slot]. Considering picking either Aerodactyl or Kabutops (feel like too many water types but whatever).

But I feel the need to call out one thing. That character that takes the role of Champion in this game feels so overdesigned.

Also, just from what I can see, it seems like raid battles actually seem harder when playing with other real people. Like, the Cinderace's Acrobatics attack did more damage when I took raids online than it did when I was on my own.

So I always knew Iron Hands was a popular choice for raids, but I decided to run the exact math and found that with max attack, activating Quark Drive boosts Iron Hand's Attack Stat to about 540.
And then using Belly Drum boosts it to an effective value of about 2160.

Bruh, I raised a Mawile in my Omega Ruby playthrough and that pokemon is massively strong. Got a solid buff at some point cause I don't remember it being that strong in the original Ruby/Sapphire.
Otherwise, here's my full team: Blaziken, Gardevoir, Breloom, Mawile, Milotic, Flygon (Trapinch, at this moment).
Can Flygon learn Fly? Gotta look this up cause I might switch Breloom for a Tropius in that case.
Should be set for the rest of the game for my main team.

Though, speaking of Defiant and Competitive, something kinda funny about them is that their names kinda got swapped in translation.

Defiant was introduced in Gen 5, and in Japan, it's call "Competitive Spirit". But then the Competitive ability came out in Gen 6, and I think it's called something like "Defiant Spirit" in Japan.

I'm gonna sound like a downer so I wanna make one thing clear: I like the idea of events. BUT:
During my replay of Omega Ruby, something kinda dawned on me: features that require temporary things make these features completely useless once some time passes... Example: the secret bases in OR/AS. No one plays these games anymore so the entire feature is wasted. Aside maybe to make a custom pokemon center in some remote place with no easy way to heal your pokemon by placing a bed?

These are cool features when the game is new and everyone is playing it but after some years, are the raids gonna be there and you'll be forced to do them solo with some idiot npcs (No, your goldeen does not count, npc. Get out of here.) like in Sword/Shield?

the secret base thing is unfortunate, but with Sw/Sh and Scarlet/Violet, I don't think it's as egregious because the content is end-game and for the most part, you're doing raids for "meta" reasons, like getting your team perfectly setup or getting late game resources

once a new pokemon game comes out that's the "current" game, these tasks aren't really vital to the game if you're returning to an old pokemon game just to play it

though I guess now that the mechanics change a decent bit between gens, I guess it's unfortunate that you won't really be able to find battle in the older gen games

I'd suspect it's mostly because of the Luxury Ball.

Luxury Ball is the only Pokéball that has a continuous effect once a Pokémon is caught (doubling friendship gained) and being able to catch Pokémon in a ball with a better catch rate and just transfer it to the Luxury ball would kinda defeat the point of it having a low catch rate.

About the save issues, there are two of them: One causing the save data to be corrupted, the other one causing the switch to not recognise it at all. No official fixes or even comments about it so far, but some people claim they were able to fix theirs by opening the game on another profile and playing until they were able to save, which caused the original save data to be fixed as well...only worked with one of the two issues, don't remember which one...

Question for pro-pokemon players:
Say I train a Pichu until he learns all of Pichu's moveset (for example's sake, lets say lvl 20). If he evolves at lvl 20 into a pikachu, can I use an Heart Scale to teach him moves Pikachu learns (but not Pichu) before level 20?

(I think I can but for some reason, I can't find a genuine confirmation. Every place I check is being super vague.)

Also, if I evolve a pichu into a pikachu at level 10, will he end up with the same stats (not counting the base stats cause they vary depending on which pokemon he defeats, of course) as the same Pichu but evolving into a Pikachu at level 20?

For your first question, evolved pokemon should be able to re-learn their own level-up moves. There are some fully evolved pokemon that get "level 1" moves that can be "re-learned" this way.

For the second, the stat calculation does not depend on when you evolve a pokemon. It's the same whether you evolve it at 10 or 20.

So, say Pikachu learns Slam BEFORE I evolve my Pichu and it isnt in the level 1 moves Pikachu learns, I wouldnt be able to have it learn it?

(Slam is a shit move that no one should want but its the only example I can use from the top of my head )

Yeah, I meant the level 1 moves are an example why the move reminder works for ANY move in the pokemon's level up moveset. Even though they can never "naturally" learn it.

Let me give an example of my own.

Lucario learns Life Dew by memory (at level 1), so you have to evolve it and use move relearning to get the move.
At level 28, it learns Metal Sound.

Let's say that your Riolu does not evolve into Lucario until level 30 (it evolves by friendship). By relearning moves, you will still have access to both Life Dew AND Metal Sound.
