I first followed the manual video and did everything step by step but then realized i needed to add ffmpeg which i couldnt figure out how to add to PATH. I then tried installing smoothie the automatic way with ffmpeg combined into it thinking it would be easier. Now i have 2 smoothies in "Send to" when i try to use them on one of my rendered clips. Smoothie and Smoothie-RS. both dont work and show up errors. If i can figure out how to add ffmpeg PATH to the manual one i think it will work idk.
#i prob did it wrong need some assistance with smoothie.

if you spent a fraction of the time reading the actual error message as you did writing this message, you couldve solved this
the video youre trying to render is in a OneDrive folder
also they give different error messages because they are running different commands
one of them is verbose logging (-v) and the other one doesnt have -v
exact same problem tho
please use your manual smoothie
that's still not manual one
whats up with your video name and directory name
erm idk my mc clips just randomly started doing that
and i didnt feel like fixing it
are you using obs
now i am yeah
do you want to fix it
its not that hard
sure
go to obs, settings, advance, and there should be a place where you can type in clip name format
appreciate that
as for this, try moving the clip to a more normal directory like downloads or desktop and rename it to something super simple like "clip.mp4"
found it thanks
i feel like this is just a parsing issue on smoothies end
alright
they become unusable once i change the name
interesting
wtf
unusable in what way?
the .mp4 part is still there right
i think it friend the clip LOOL i tried using smoothie on another clip in desktop and i think its working
ur the goat
🔥
make another supp ticket if you got more issues
or just keep using this and ping me idrc
i have this one application called blur and i think it drops the video down to 60 and does stuff to it before i put it in sony vegas, do u think thats fine to do? or u think its just doing to much
running the clip through all that
use smoothie or blur
not both
also use either blur program before editing
unless youre recording in 60 fps already or outputting in your editing program at the clips native frame rate than use smoothie before
kinda depends on your workflow but generally smoothie before
if you wanna make full use of that, and still just use smoothie after editing instead of before, export in vegas or premier in 600 fps
if youre doing stuff with slow motion editing id recommend frame blending to like 120 or 240
i gotta see, my obs kept crashing because i was using to big of export settings
my memory
kept saying to low
i can help with your settings if you want
sure ill send
i just need your output -> recording settings and also replay buffer settings
wait im fried i meant sony vegas
oh your vegas is crashing?
yeah
ah if youre not using replay buffer than its fine
otherwise these settings are fine
unrelated but you should also check thus
idek what that is
!statsdock
LOL
In order for you to make sure OBS does not lag while it's recording, you should make the Stats Dock shown, just like this:
It is prefered to have a second monitor so you are able to see how it's doing without having to alt tab (by having OBS on your second monitor)
It is normal to get a few dozens of skipped frames when alt tabbing

its good
if youre getting more than 0.5% skipped frames while recording and playing normally than lower ur recording fps
Bro change ur recording format from fragmented MP4 to .mkv or mpeg .mp4
if i use mkv would i need to convert them in order to edit them in sony vegas?
obs can do that automatically
ohhh automatically remux to mp4 got it
would i use frame blending on the slow motion parts? or the entire clip
Yea
Obs can do that automatically
I wouldn't recommend it
