intensity 4.0 is very high, try 2.0 first and then decrease/increase from there

timid field
#

yes, you dont use 4 for 60 fps output

strange skiff
#

set interpolation higher, to around 720/1440, since you're already pre-interpolating the input to 360fps

timid field
#

and 2 either

#

honestly just start from 1

strange skiff
#

add -c:a copy to encoding args

#

and that's it

fast bay
#

-c:a utvideo like this?

timid field
#

if your input fps is low it may get you more accurate interpolation

#

takes much more time though

strange skiff
# fast bay Should i pre interpolate?

for 180fps input I'd say it's worth it. it's slower and produces better results but if you're already dealing with high fps input it's a bit overkill

strange skiff
fast bay
#

copy? what it does

timid field
#

copy

#

the audio track

strange skiff
#

this will not do that and just not touch it - copy it - to the new file

#

makes the audio lossless to the input

fast bay
strange skiff
#

i usually do 4x interpolation and 2x pre-interp

#

if i would be inputting 180fps

#

if you're doing gta try 1 intensity as it's good for pretty much everything

#

2 would look twice as motionblurry

you can also use multipliers ;)

fast bay
# strange skiff you can also use multipliers ;)

So i changed intensity to 1, interpolation to 720 fps, pre-interpolate 2x, and -c:v utvideo -c:a copy. I'm recording in .mp4 fragmented on OBS, Not sure if it might cause any errors. Do you have any more tips on how you would make the settings in your way or making the settings "clean" ?

strange skiff
#

there's not much else to it, basically, you'll just figure out what you like

#

fuck around with settings (mostly intensity) and that's it

#

also make sure your game is running above the framerate you're recording it

#

150fps in-game + 120fps recording will produce better results than 160fps in-game and 180fps recording

#

oh and due to how it works, 60fps at intensity 1.0 will have the "same" blur as 30fps intensity 0.5

#

same with going up in framerate

fast bay
strange skiff
#

perfect

#

one last thing, don't forget, good videos aren't good just because they're smooth

fast bay

strange skiff
#

some people output 30fps or even 24

#

i find it to look awful but in the end it's all personal preference

What game is it

I don’t do 60 output but 4.0 blur is crazy

bitter dagger
#

15 is nice too

For pre interp keep it at 2x which basically means ur going
180<360(RIFE) but you need to increase the SVP interpolation imo, I would go something like 720. So itd be 180>360(rife)>720(svp)<60

Btw, these settings are the updated ones. Open to advice if needed.

Use algorithm 13 I think it is better for low fos

Fps

Gem prob knows what it is

I’ve never seen gta renders and I hate gta so I got no clue

#

But 180 objectively is low

fast bay
#

I'm trying to make the game look sharp and smooth at the same time bc it's not like first-person games such as Mc, Val, CS, etc...

bitter dagger
#

You can make Fortnite sharp and smooth so it’s not impossible

Pre interp is rife and normal inter is svp
