fps is wayy different than yesterday trying to figure out the cause, (mainly with obs open)

yesterday i could comfortably record at 1080p600 while having 1000 ig fps now i can barely record at 600 with a bunch of fps drops. I didnt make any changes, ill send what i think would be helpful

specs:
4070 (laptop), yes optimus is disabled, yes i checked
i7 13700H
16gb ram

i believe its an issue with obs so i sent my obs settings, also i run benchmarks quite often and the results havent changed, (i used userbenchmarks ik very bad but its just to see if my system is getting worse over time, ill try send the 2 benchmarks)

Check temps using hwinfo64

If not the case, try dual booting windows again and test ( to retain data incase it's not the issue )

gpu is fine

but i've always had high temps especially because its a laptop

and i dont really know how to properly undervolt without messing up

My laptops usually get up to around 85 degrees at most. If you see that the frequency is really low, you could check that out, and maybe think about changing the thermal paste if its super dried up.

well the laptop is practically brand new so i doubt something is wrong with the thermal paste

Don't get linux for the Minecraft FPS its not worth the FPS, the amount of setup is crazy if you are using something like arch.

You will hate linux if you are using it for the FPS.

They could just be thermal throttling to get those temps

It really depends on if it's throttling like crazy

You just need to check idle temps

If they are above 70 or 80 it's a problem

some dont throttle even at 100

some do at 90

so maybe yes or maybe no
