the one with more interp fps is gonna look better

comparing framerates is hard because 30fps has a certain style to it

No compression ?

wispy seal
#

catbox doesnt compress

wispy seal
#

not really

#

if it looks too blurry try lowering blur amount

meager owl
#

I keep it to 1, is it optimal ?

wispy seal
#

thats up to your personal preference... i like 1.0-1.3 for 30fps (gaussian_sym) and 1.0-1.3 for 60fps

Smoothie is Couleur's take on blur and is currently being rewritten in the Rust programming language.

It is available as a portable program, you can grab it by following this tutorial from Hexal:

Smoothie-RS (written primarily by @Couleur) is an interpolation and frame blending application that is built on https://github.com/f0e/blur

#

120fps version

#

Also why shouold I use RIFE ?

wispy seal
#

better for input fps lower than 240

#

you dont need to install rife if your video is 240fps+

meager owl
#

What does rife do

wispy seal
#

rife is a more accurate interpolation model, its quite slow, but gives far better results

meager owl
#

Oh alright

download from releases

#

the tutorial is slightly outdated

meager owl

Releases are so misleading, you need to click +12 releases in order to download the actual program

#

Where's the Rust version ?

Okay, so which settings do you recommend ?

wispy seal
#

you can look through #⭐|render-hall-of-fame to find something you like.
it might be a blur config, in that case you will have to recreate the same settings in smoothie-rs's format
