i5-1245U, 16gb of LPDDR5
X1 Carbon Gen 10 that has had a battery fire that's destroyed the woofers and touchpad, and slightly dented the bottom magnesium cover
congrats!
it was too good of a deal to pass up
<1 year old machine with an original price above 2000⬠for 200ā¬
200
wow
yep
carbon fibre/magnesium, 14" 1920x1200 400nit low power touchscreen, 1.12kg
amazing little thing
just need to buy new speakers, battery and touchpad
oh and windows hello face unlock is neat
For 200 thatās crazy
This was also included in the price
That's a literal piece of a blown up Li-Po cell on the last image
After cleaning:
Yep, but it works well except the things I mentioned were broken
Sidenote: selling a T480 and T580
ayo, for 200 is grazy
took a gamble
i knew it was on fire but booted to bios and screen worked
and tou won
nice nipple
get the other part off of aliexpres
i mean display alone would sell for like 150ā¬
or stole them from other pc
i'm getting geniune lenovo for this one
esp. since the battery trackpad and speaker quality can vary wildly
true
it will be like 160⬠instead of 70⬠but that's worth it
wait, it s touchscreen ?
and for this expensive of a laptop
what ref ?
yep, but not glass touchscreen, plastic touchscreen
lenovo laptop are too good, other brands are dogshit
panel is low power 1200p 16:10 60hz 400nit 100% sRGB
sadge
good, less glare and less shit to break
i love your takes
vivobook are nice
lenovo sucks too
so its beyer for headphones and lenovo for laptops
but the vasy majority is just craptop
specific models are good
apple silicon, thinkpad T/X1/P series, some other high end no bullshit laptops
WHGAT
THAT IS IBNSAME
that was my reaction when I won it
needs work and will cost about 360⬠when done
u won it?
ayction?
yeah, auction
oh great
goood
everybody else was a pussy not wanting a fire damaged laptop
stio cioyubg ne couler
learn to fucking type
doy yiu havei g a stroek
EON TO
call 112
are u gonna resell it
no i want this one too much
i mean 1800 bucks??
and reselling a fucking fire damaged machine with suspiciously no warranty and a slightly dented bottom case from the fire is stupid
also what gpu does it got
will fetch like 500⬠max
Iris Xe 80EU
2022
av1 dec but not enc
i5-1245U
2p+8e
errrmm š¤
oh eww =((
e cores
why not 3 p cores
idk, it's weird but ehhh
2 + maybe like 4 p core equivalents but slower clocks
i wonder how well itll perform
it's very much a power limited chip so you need to take that into account as well
ill see how it goes
i bought this not for the perf but for the screen and body mostly
at least its efficient
screen is sweat
my 8750h doesn t go below c7
even with unlocked bios
1.9 w idle, too much
even undervolt, itget like 3 hours battery
gaming craptop
nice
combined with a 96wh battery that shit lasts forever
not much customization but they don't fuck up defaults
legacy boot can die i don't care
but why would you bother hidding it
msi fuck defaults
not sure when msi will learn how to writte a bios
i've no idea, CSM related bugs on that specific laptop? idk
chainsawman mentioned!
They disabled gpu switching in the bios, I need to have a windows partition.
you can prolly mod the bios to make it visible or grub it

Man that sounds like one of my bad professors in one of my hw/sw classes
Literally would say something similar every class

https://www.amazon.com/ASROCK-Z690-Extreme-LGA1700-Motherboard/dp/B09JM81HF2/
This motherboard is so confusing but interesting to me
Iām curious if APO might amount to anything if this board somehow has a way to make it work on my 12700K
Mfr Part Number: Z690 EXTREME CPU: Supports 12th Gen Intel Core Processors (LGA1700) Digi Power design 13 Power Phase design Supports Intel Hybrid Technology Supports Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 Technology Chipset: Intel Z690 Memory: Dual Channel DDR4 Memory Technology 4 x DDR4 DIMM Slots Supports ...

My 12700K has been doing absolutely nothing for the past few months and Iām wondering if this board might suit me well with Alder Lake virtualization
Some of the overviews Iāve seen pointed out how the lack of USB ports make it fail to be a budget motherboard and some other small things like power phases but Iām curious where that would actually matter for me
My intention is to put 128 GB of RAM since this is the max it supports
Iāll start off with my HP V10 as a start
First to check how far that RAM Bdie will go with just 2 sticks, and then if plugging 3600 MHz will just crap the pants with 4 sticks assuming this is a daisy chained board (I have yet to see any T-topology Z690 or Z790 motherboards but someone correct me if one does exist. Not that it matters as I care more about full capacity than speed
Ah nvm APO would be pointless for me but still an interesting board for the price
Alternatively I may make one of my systems a streaming pc if I choose to go that route. Unsure
Iām also in the position where in QA testing I need an Arc GPU for validation
Perhaps this build might be that opportunity

all the upgrades i wanted to do (for now) are done
the next one is going to be another ssd (for raid 0) but that can wait
40gb?
8gb soldered + 32gb stick?
that's a tiny battery for an r9+4060
it used to be a 7735HS, when i sent it back for the 4060 dying; they just upgraded it :/
that's goated tho
plus you get zen4
nah; its 8gb + 32gb not soldered. planning to upgrade to 64 down the line
do you plan to upgrade the display in the future?
nah
its fine
1080p@144
yea but 56% sRGB and 300nit
its not accuracy but colour range
i have a 72%srgb in my laptop and that already is washed out compared to everything else, like you don't get deep colours
i dont notice anything
fair enough
maybe will upgrade but not in the foreseeable future.
i mean fuck it go 4k 144 oled
Yeah I expect that Iāll have to use 3200 MHzā¦. Again
What company do you guys recommend for deskmats/big mousepads? And do you guys think the g502 light speed is a good mouse?
why big mouspad
get skypad!1!
aech will object to my opinion but hes better at games and he has a skypad so
i wont
ok <3
but
main only issue with skypad is that it requires a sleeve
it REQUIRES a sleeve???
I never had to use a sleeve for a skypad
Unless youāre referring to your little sensitive skinny sausage arm being fragile like a tree branch the moment you touch something cold
How much it cost?
Okay, not terrible
buy the big one pls the small one is uh... small.
I have a hien rn which was 140
Hm^^
Thatās right folk thatās why I bought the BIGGEST one!
āBUT THE SM0L ONE IS CHEAPERRRRRRRRā
No shit
Lmaooo
Okay, so sky pad, sleeve and for mouse? Any recommendations or is the g502 light speed Ight?
anyone got the twitterpost that says estrogen makes ur aim better
Yeah, do you?
Yes.
g502 blows
found it
does that mean its good or bad?
awful
Damn
why though
Okay
v2 pro my beloved
weight n performance
i c
OP!*K
pretty shit apart from that
+1
Okay, weāll I had the superlight before, but I wasnāt a fan of the shape
valid
rusting tank
fuck superlight
What are your options on final mouse?
overpriced
Okay, what wireless mouse do you recommend?
sora v2 with dongle
@polar valve, do you also second his statement^^
it looks so awful
haven't looked into it
Lmaooooooooo
i basically only consider wired mice nowadays
wiredo nly??!?
but i trust aech on that one
i cant play without wir4eles
tanks
Yeah, I feel like I would prefer wireless
its som ucbh better
meant specifically for that recommendation
acting like this mf isnt hideous
seen other ppl recommend it too
I mean, wireless tech has gotten so good that it makes no difference wired or wireless
Practically the same
mehhhh
So sora v2, thatās it?
was on phone when writing this
back on pc now
their measured performance is virtually identical nowadays, but input consistency is still not equal
if youre not living in an optimal setting youll likely be seeing more inconsistency in super high polling rates on wireless
not that it matters for the most part
but it makes wireless 4k/8k practically unusable in my case for example
but that will vary so hard from person to person that its almost whatever
let me see them toes tellinq
?
u read it
If you were in RSD you would know I may or may not have done an accidental feet reveal
get this guy banned
I forget honestly
However, I was able to find out which mouse fits me better through some calculations
Ultralight x
Tiger - optimal size for hand
Simple: Hand go Mouse Ratio: 2.06
Complex: Height Ratio: 1.220
Complex: Width Ratio: 1.44
WLMouse Beast x
Almost perfect for hand size
Simple: Hand go Mouse Ratio: 2.02
Complex: Height Ratio: 1.261
Complex: Width Ratio: 1.37
Pwnage Stormbreaker
Simple: Hand go Mouse Ratio: 1.96
Complex: Height Ratio: 1.215
Complex: Width Ratio: 1.33
which grip though
no
I think Iām a mix of claw and palm
I think my palm height was 9.5 and my palm width was like 8.5-9
Donāt have a ruler with me rn lol
But lowkey, I kind of want a mousepad that fits my 60% keyboard and mouse. And Iād play on « low senseĀ Ā» Would the sky pad really benefit me in that sense?
chat
itās time I buy yet another cpu cooler for an unloved CPU
12700K for perspective. Very toasty brother. For perspective Iāve used both a Deepcool Castle 240EX and 360EX variant. 240mm resulted in 80C in Cinebench R23 multicore and 360mm resulted in ~75C
But it begs the question are there any air coolers nowadays that would offer similar performance to your standard AIO or would it just be a bred nightmare for a toasty boy
If not, thatās fine
Right now I wanna default to an Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm or 420mm (which would instead be for my 14900K and then Iāll use my Deepcool 360EX on the 12700K if I chose the 420mm route) if thereās no decent cheaper air cooler
I only ask this because I always defaulted for an AIO, but for a system that I expect to be used for virtualization or Arc driver testing, having to deal with AIO maintenance after a few years could be potentially annoying, but time will tell
To be fair all my AIOs have never needed maintenance unless I did a repaste which will likely come first anyways unless I just get some utter shit AIO that will clog or fail the moment I let my guard down
You should definitely do some more research if you can, but one of the top air coolers on the market right now in the Thermalright Frost Commander 140 or the Phantom Spirit 120 EVO. They are not on par with AIOs, but if you are willing to put a power limit you could make it work.
Anyone have experience with fan speed control in msi mb?
ThƩ RPM is clearly too high and my pc sounds like a jet engine lmaoo
Set to PWM
Set step down time to the longest (1.0s. It may show 0.7s at first) as for stressful tasks you want the fans to sustain a long time after
The curve will be dependent on what tasks and temps you are on though
Popular opinion is awful for any āgamerā accessories since such a large part of the community does so little research into them
When the majority get an actually decent take, they hold on to it until itās half a decade out of date
Okay, i'll need to go back to BIOS since the MSI utility isn't doing shit for me lol
MSI utility for fan control is not really that good anyways
Oops wrong reply
okay
So use FanControl https://getfancontrol.com
Fan Control is a free software that allows the user to control his CPU, GPU and case fans using temperatures.
Oops, I did this for my cpu instead of system fan. Does it matter?
I suggest getting a portable version of FanControl so you can mess with speed and noise level in real time
Itās all in experimentation and usage, not fully definitive values
Since in BIOS youāll be limited in four values, I suggest doing this:
First point: Completely idle. Set it to a temp where idle is set +-3-6C. The speed should be virtually inaudible
Second: Light tasks. Set to whatever temp that lies for you, and a speed where the maximum value is inaudible for you OR not annoying
Third: Moderate but not full load. Noise shouldnāt be much of a concern at this point as you wonāt get too far with temps, but look at the temp avg and then offset it by -5 to -8
Last: Stress test/full load. Since youāre on AM5 iirc itāll peg at 95C no matter what. Iām gonna default to 80C at 100% no matter what. Let me know if the behavior is different
That works for now
However, remind me did you order an AIO? If so one of those is the pump header (which looks to be on the WRONG spot)
Pump headers need to run at full speed or a static speed above 60%
An alternative (and a bit more effective method for case fans is following this guide) https://youtu.be/W-lIUVfOEH0?si=hLc93kCljkT0qY1_
Whatever you do donāt listen to the pump suggestion - that is WRONG suggesting a slope

is it normal for my cpu to run at like 60-65 in game?
Like letās just say Iām sitting in a lobby, my GPU temp is 42 and my cpu is at 50. Could this mean maybe I messed something up during the installation of the hardware
yes
thatās completely fine
Anything under 80C is healthy, really 95C for AM5
However thatās workflow based
For Ryzen: 40-50C idle is fine (30-40C for Intel)
60-70 for games is fine too,
But for Ryzen very sure itās supposed to peg at 95C
Depends on the draw on the CPU
If itās extremely low, thatād be a bit high but whatever
If itās high, then thatās good
Either way, as mentioned by others, thatās a completely safe temperature
for an idea of how terrible my job can be in worst case scenarios, we just had a customer computer we couldnt fix for 3 days straight, we replaced gpu, cpu, motherboard, ram, ssd, legit every part and still no boot, so we jumped the pins to turn it on without the case wire, still no boot, we put on a test bench it worked, we we tested the voltage for all the case wires no issues, we plug back in everything and didn't work lmfao, it was a fucking short in the sata cable from case to psu..... all these issues caused by a sata to rgb built into the case š yeah we shouldve done, open test bench first but we have a back order of 4 computers to fix on the test benches
Iām sure everything happened for a reason in that moment
Seems logical anyways if I was in your point of view
In my perspective if I see a system broken, I always say āitās not trusted at all until it is proven to pass the 3-stage stability testā
For ANY part
Even for working parts i know work I donāt trust them
Everything behaves differently from each part for a reason
Some more stupid than others
Like shortsā¦
The ones from a case are the bane of my existence
But if no part was damaged other than the SATA cable at least the motherboard was doing its job: not shitting everything else
well, that's why you test on a bench to save time
we had 4 other computers on test benches with other co workers working on em cause they were first shift, so I was stuck manually testing since i work second shift by the time i get there all the test benches are ocupied
get a test bench called cardboard box
we can't the room we work on computer repairs can only space 4, and i work on computers on the sales floor, big genius bar area for computers stuff
I work on computers as ppl walk by asking questions
top down 3D render of the store, I work in the yellow box
big ass mf store for what
render works like nanites, closer you zoom in more details you get
you may have just revealed your identity
weirdo
jus lettin em know fr
Knowledge bar is seperate area
Knowledge bar is for all tech/ store questions and my area is for all pc building questions
alr
There were 13 left in stock this morning
Now this
Doubt this board is ever coming back lol
pwm is cancer
what does that even mean
pwm goated
If he means fan PWM
Pulse Width Modulation
Some boards donāt handle PWM as equals others
Some put a hard cap on min and max
i know what pwm is
but also his statement doesn't make sense
Yeah itās pretty vague
But itās pretty standard behavior of him
[insert here] is shit
Barely explain why
i don't understand how you can put a max cap on pwm because just make the signal have 100% uptime?
pwm on monitors can be bad if it's badly implemented
pwm anywhere that's not a light source is a no brainer
@sand geyser yo can you recommend a gaming laptop rq under $2400 for architecture work and preferably from lenovo
Rendering too yes
Not really
Needs to have a good gpu and multi core performance
And also atleast 32 gb of ram
And 1 tb of storage
can someone tell me if this is a good deal or not
its about exactly $2400

@velvet isle opinion on this?
Acer Predator Helios 16 comes with Intel Core i9-14900HX. Memory: Dual-channel DDR5 SDRAM support 16 GB of DDR5 system memory, Upgradable up to 32 GB of DDR5 system memory. Display: 16.0" display with IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, WQXGA 2560 x 1600, high-brightness (500 nits) Acer ComfyVie...
also this
HP's bios is worse.
Not as good since itās 12th gen (13/14 have better performance because of the p/e cores)
Also youāre wasting a lot of money on the display
Good but only 16 GB unless you upgrade
got it
alr thanks
you can expand otherwise you will get scam
šš¾šš¾
did you rob the bank already

That is an insane deal
13700f is like 250 and 4060ti is like 250 so p good deal ngl
yep
4060ti is like 250
you guys get 16gb 4060tis for 250???
we might be getting eu'd
cheapest 4060 ti i can find locally is ā¬500 lel
250-300 pounds
š¤·āāļø
Last time I checked
Oh shit I was looking on eBay last time but still stands
Like 350 on Amazon
320
370 usd
Oh nvm
Ouch
At least me getting it for $299 was a good deal for me then
So far working well
Waiting for case
not bad compared to other gpus to be fair
its only slightly more expensive than a 4060 8gb (much more expensive than its amd counterparts though)
@polar valve i have obtained 4k hz dongle
it smells very strongly of chemicals
but a possibilty of cancer for 4k hz seems like a good deal
chemicals of a new device.
higher polling rates is noticeable at lower dpi
400 dpi becomes as smooth as 1600 on higher polling rates
@pale coral how often do you encounter ASRock boards out of all motherboard brands and do you have any specific opinions on them in general?
First time using an ASRock board. My specific board is a bit fussy with RAM but seems to work out with a BIOS update
Apparently my specific board had a plethora of bad BIOS updates but seems to be good now
well we ship it out with newest bios update
so no issues
though yeah most motherboards which sit on the shelf too long have older bios that cause issues
not just asrock specific
though we never have product sitting on shelf too long
the oldest motherboard on stock
is like last bios updated 5 months ago
it sells to ppl building cheap computers or igpu systems
ahh
tbf i can't really knock on ASRock for my inital bad experience
for all I know it could have just been intel microcode and that build just was exposing it
Z690 Extreme btw
i don't expect that to be on your Microcenter shelves
was gonna update the BIOS myself anyways either through flashback or using my 12700K
ended up just using the 12700K since it seemed rather pointless to have the Arc A770 be paired with a 14900K
version 6.03 -> 18.02 (beta version atm, not sure if ASRock will ship a new version to mark out of beta or not)
nah i don't see it on the employee panel
I would have to check instore stock next week
I wish microcenter was in the uk
I wish microcenter was wherever I am
june conversing with june
@silwnt LMAO
@silwnt LMAO
yo is this worth it?
i have a few laptop hdds lying around that id like to use
or should i get this which is only like $1.5 more
sata ssd on any cheapos usb 3 enclosusure
i have a couple of these cause I hotswap between drives often for factory resetting or reinstalling drivers on laptops with bricked display drivers
nice build but rgb š š
šš¾
Yeah itās something I would end up disabling
But now to turn off the RAM and GPU RGB I gotta use Non Ideal Methodsā¢ļø such as using third party bloatware
So I just leave it at the rainbow puke
At least ASRock lets you control how the RGB looks in the UEFI and can disable that part properly
what about openrgb
Sorry I must take that as third party bloatware
(Yes I know it doesnāt take that much)
Also on Linux I find it more painful to deal with
So I end up not using it entirely regardless of what OS I use
also it's not an option since it doesn't support Acer's Arc A770
"but you can add it yourself!"
mf do i look like someone would has the time or wants to do that?
Donāt get me wrong OpenRGB is powerful and I love every second of using it when all the hardware Iām using works
Just currently in that state where I donāt so I donāt use it
get me wrong OpenRGB is powerful and I love every second of using it when all the hardware Iām using works
Bro deleted one word and forgot the formatting
Bro deleted one word and forgot
bro forgot
the hammer method still exist
bloatware is bloatware
it's even more so when the product you expect to work one way doesn't work as you intend
bloatware is bloatware and will always be bloatware so nothing can change it from being bloatware as it is bloatware by nature
very philosofical indeed
Between the benq zowie u2 mouse the deathadder v3 pro, the g502 x plus and the basilik v3 pro, what do you guys recommend?
i had the superlight before, but wasn't a big fan
also the viper ultimate and wired g502
da v3 pro
I'm looking for something that's a good blend of fps but also open world rpg
ight
just needed someone else to say it
doesn't have the best reviews though? Have you used it personally @grand dragon
i had the wired version
would you say wired is better than wireless these days?
hard to say its better
wireless is incredibly incredibly good these days
performance is virtually identical between the best wired & wireless mice
like the difference is so miniscule that its no longer really a consideration
in my case i just cant seem to get wireless mice to be very stable, so i still prefer wired mice
but for the vast majority of people its completely fine, and they shouldnt have to worry
it has come to my attention that the Arctic Liquid Freezer III intro pricing is coming to an end
good timing for me i guess
you getting one? what about noctua
large arctic lfs perform better anyway ;P
what??' rly??
68⬠FOR A WATERCOOLER WHATTT
bigtime
first is just a 200-watt load at 100% fanspeed, and second is the same 200-watt load noise normalized to 35dBa
Already got it a few days ago
yeah, i have one in my pc right now. Solid AIO
This is probably my personal bias but so far the ALF III has been the EASIEST cooler to install on an LGA 1700 system
Since they enforce you to use their contact frame youāre not needing to fiddle with the back side of the motherboard (if you know how painful that can be at times youāll understand)
Also since the fans are preinstalled and the cables you plug in terminate from an adapter itās such a seamless setup
Would have recommended but Iāll have to see how that stands with the intro discount fading away
you just named all the reasons I have kraken coolers installed on my amd system, on am4 atleast no need to change backplate default one works, all the cables are one adapter from pump splits to everything else it needs basically the only thing u have to put together or screw is the reservoir

@maiden hull
havent sat down and watched it, but man that title is crazy
Yeah I watched it a couple hours ago
Never bought an EK product so doesnāt affect me
man you watched that shit on release O_O
But man Iām not gonna support a company that treats employees like shit
their upcoming direct-die LGA1700 aio seemed insanely cool
real
https://x.com/Buildzoid1/status/1781555751657631822 LOOOOOL CMON ASUS
asus doing asus things
āBut but but if we enable by default people are gonna whine that their performance is worse!!!!ā
if ur buying that motherboard i feel like you aren't that stupid
Thereās literally people whining on OC forums about perf being worse and saying itās a bad update because of noobs crashing
But the problem is that like
Youāre running a fucking non stock profile BY DEFAULT
And STILL with this update itās not THE DEFAULT
Literally, silicon lottery and yet people have this mess because some board manufacturer decided āyeah letās just have everyone basically run an overclock or non stock power limit itāll be fineā
typical asus
my sister's friend had an laptop which cost close to $2200 USD and it bricked itself within 2 years
Iām just mad because people somehow donāt understand they havenāt been running stock this entire time and think itās so bad to go to Intelās ACTUAL STOCK LIMITS just for stability
Like dude you were SUPPOSED to be on that THE ENTIRE TIME IF YOU WANTED STOCK
Also if anyone ever wonders why I was pissed at ASUS yesterday based off these comments
I can understand self builders having more knowledge with handling a UEFI
But guess who also puts ASUS Z690 and Z790 motherboards in peoplesā systems
Prebuilts
You canāt expect everyone to know how to handle a UEFI
People who buy a system built for them expect it to work at stock without needing further modification
If theyāre told that a BIOSās stock wasnāt stock, thatās a big fat āfuck youā to them basically
I mean Iāll push people on to ASRock for Intel Z series unless itās the utter cheapest
AMD not too sure
was looking at some UEFI builds and noticed some missing features that I would consider factorsā¦.
(Theyāre minuscule)
On Z690 $129 for a pretty decent board I think is nice
At least the Z690 Extreme
Only thing Iād dislike is the USB ports
Unless you just have a mouse and keyboard
Ok what the fuck why is this a BETA BIOS
The fact it isnāt the DEFAULT either is frustrating
Stock not being stock cmon
tbf ASRock also had this option for some time but itās not the default either
But their stock settings are also near Intelās baseline
Not setting the power limit to 4095
And in ASRockās case it feels like the toggle does absolutely nothing as it doesnāt make it clear what specific settings it changes
Which it ā> NEEDS <ā to do
If ASUS does the same thing thatās also disappointing
It needs to be like the XMP Profile where it specifies what gets changed
At least with ASRock the toggle is in Easy Mode
Buildzoid also went off on the same topic about default bios not having default intel settings
ye saw that too
had the most weird it issue in a minute, a hyperx quadcast not completing a handshake with it's own driver's cause it couldnt recognize the driver belong to itself, so I had to flash an EEPROM , basically what tells the mic what type of mic it is onto the mic itself, and it got me thinking what's stopping us from flashing the elgato wave 3 onto other mics to get free access to wave link, let's you realtime vst host 8 different channels. and then has all 8 channels split into 2 different virtual devices. would be useful on most budget mics no?
chatgpt says yes, as to how to do it. no idea whatsoever
I mean I doubt other mics would work if you flashed them with the wrong eeprom
If you dry flash most likely, you will need to just edit the manufacturer on the eeprom no? Not the software itself, and at the end of the day you can just backup the eeprom
does editing the manufacturer actually guarantee that wave link will actually work? if it's entirely software then i could see it working
wavelink is entirely software none built into mic
so aslong as it recognizes a mic that belongs to elgato it's compatible
it's like having voice meter + lighthost + vst 2 and vst 3 support
ohh ok cool
it's like all built into one program, can make any mic and headphones sound godly
but it has to be recognized as a elgato device
sounds useful... lmk if you try it out
I personally have a Wave XLR which also gave me access to the Wave Link software
Only thing I dislike now is that thereās no official Linux support so it basically becomes useless for me
if i find the right tools to copy eemprom properly
cause i only got one that lets me import eemproms
if someone can replicate an intuitive mixing experience (if it exists already I need to find it) I will have full respects
lighthost let's you host vst plugins on any virtual daw
how you like the mic?
nvm
interface
not mic
still on podmic?
It used to be where Elgato was making some silly excuses on how the software would just not work properly without a Wave Device
Stream Deck Plus: What u talking about
like similar to how I can host vst plugins to make my mic sound 4x more expensive lighthost let's you do it for any other audio interface with a virtual output
Just still not fully used to having to have my mic literally close unless i turn up the gain
But it works well once EQād
Doubt there will ever be a mic that will sound good on my voice without EQ
compressor before eq, so you can run it louder without clipping, so then when you eq the eq is softer on your voice
all mics have to be eq'd unless you are in a sound treated room
Yeah my room is never gonna be sound treated at all
reflections off monitors, desk, and yourself, and room if in a big space, all make mics sound worst
even my room is treated and i have to run filters still
Eh my voice just sounds muddy
i have to cut alot of bass out my voice and mids
The main problem is me - Iām never close to the mic properly
So once I hear myself in discord
People say I sound fine
But to me
It sounds so bad
I mean if you ever wanna sit down and try to eq your mic we can
I have about 8 yrs audio engineering experience
I have an EQ setup I just never save it or load it every time I reinstall an OS
5 of them being due to college electives and fucking around
might as well revise though Iāve changed my setup a bit last I did it
Thatās more than me
So might as well be worth a shot
use equalizer apo?
Pretty sure it was mostly Renegate and Elgatoās EQ with a slight boost in bass and treble
Didnāt need much more than that
And then just a bit of noise suppression
But itās been a while
I prefer the reaplugins, I use the elgato ones when I reset my pc cause I get too lazy to reinstall shit š
What the hell ASRock even had some baseline toggle before in EZ Mode and youāre telling me now that wasnāt baseline either?????
https://youtu.be/bTk5uXSteCU?si=oe-wCR2A80otfBxn oh great this guy is also showing how itās happening on LOCKED CPUs too

Iām glad how heās so upset and emphasizing the fact that motherboard manufacturers donāt tell you that youāre opting in to these ridiculous overvolting settings and that youāre basically having to be technical to address this
Even so not many people donāt even know how to enter the BIOS/UEFI nor even know what the heck that is
Let alone now motherboard manufacturers having to push BIOS updates that STILL are an opt out and not an opt in
Now what if XMP was a forced opt out and not an opt in
Or even monitor refresh rates that are the highest by default but your GPU or display cable canāt handle that so youāre forced at a black screen
Iāve even had some friends over the past couple years ask me why these opt in things are a thing and why theyāre not the actual default
Well⦠itās when this kind of shit happensā¦
when people be undervolting, they are overvolting š
Well shit Iām below 100 on my 14900K but itās not a complete dud that canāt run Cinebench like Buildzoidās
Thereās still like little documentation on ASRockās CPU indicator so only thing I can deal with is just percentiles

ive voiced my displeasure with optimum many many times
but builds like this are so fucking cool man
Not relevant to the conversation right now
Mf if a cpu out of the box canāt run Cinebench that aināt useless bud
If youāre not going to bring any meaningful reasons and just keep saying ā[insert here] is shit/uselessā or call someone else idiotic at least bring a good reason and not just some baseless claims, or donāt even bother contributing to the conversation
'just curious - can yall show me your current gpu fan curve?
I use the stock fan curve on my card since it works + fan curve software on Linux is sometimes spotty or hard to come by for your hardware
weeeeeeee
cpu cooler is aio, 100% pump cause its a silent pump and 40% all the time on the fans locked
are you actually switching to team red for linux? thats crazy.
but yea it should work fine
not only that but
cheaper proves š
prices š
š
what š
I mean if you don't have a CPU that's compatible then you don't really have a choice
š¤·
https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/asus-prime-h310m-e-r2-0/cpu according to this website
it is not compatible with the
What cpu
uh
But yeah no shit h310 is AM4
You mean ryzen 5 5500?
I mean that's not AM5 so it is compatible with the motherboard you have. You probably just need to update bios
oh no
i dont have it yet
i will be buying it soon
alright so my mobo is compatible with that cpu
should I buy this gpu
Depends on your purposes
What games? What resolutions? What framerate do you want in those games? Do you want to do high fps recording? Do you do any video processing / content creation?
subnautica, Apex Legends, TItanfall 2
1080p / 1440p
60-240
on minecraft only
except for smrs, no
If you want to record over 240 fps, go for NVIDIA
and lets say I don't what to record over 240 fps
Then the card you sent probably isnāt enough for 1440p240
8 GB vram is limiting
Whatās your budget?
yeah im not going to play at 1440p240
doesnt AV1 push like 700+
No
any1 know a cheap budget amd gpu
anythign is better than a igpu
just want something thats decent
like what
like a gtx 650
equvilent to that
i dont need ANYTHING special
I just need something thats better than a igpu and is relativly cheap
I wanna get into pc building so dont really know much š
hd 6970
ok ty
that one really sucks
rx Vega 11
isnt this a cpu?
yeah its a cpu š
ok gtx 1060 equlvilent
much more avalible in my region
100 what
know its not alot but in my contry its alot
oh
The whole build or just gpu
So the whole build essentially
so some1 also suggested for me to get a gpu
buy a good cpu with an iGpu
but the cpus thats supported by my mobo is rly old
Buy a cpu off of aliexpress from a repped seller
talking bout 3rd i7 š
I don't think he can do that with 100 bucks
ye
100% he can
i just wated a upgrade
ok then what would u reccomend
My first build was 250 and 125 was the gpu
Idk cuz i donāt do low end
Thatās not even low end itās just
oof
Potato
š
LMFAO
Iād just save up
i got a ps3
Miles worse
jailbroken ofc
Console probs better for u ngl
yk any good motherboard + cpu combonations
I can try 200$
4000 rand
oof
They play minecraft.
304.00 AUD
yeah dont need anything special
I dont rly need a high end system
father was asking me if I will still use the pc (some minipc)
Look in the used market
said yes and he said he could do a cpu + ram upgrade
me: is getting nard hard?
google: is getting hard hard?

10 chocolates and 60 chocolates = same thing š š š
that's good
food
So u have 100 usd
Uhhh
can up it
food isn't the same as frames
I dont wann do a whole mother board swap

The market in SA isn't gonna be the same as the USA though
ye
I wanna get info pc building
we do have a ebay alternative but doesen't nearly have as much as ebay does
so what shouldd I do
Used parts from eBay donāt go well imo
dont rly wanna do a mother board swap
Amazon?
Itās easy as fuck
tbh idk why just dont wanna
U wanna learn so learn g
shipping go crazzy bru
aight
give it to a PC builder
For me, local shit worked better than ebay
so then what would u reccoomend
pay him 700 nard
father used to be 1 back in like the 2000 š
š·
Get him to build if u canāt
but now he doesent do that
ye ik im not gonna make the build
I just wanted to reasearch for him
since he is tired
Oh shit my dad is from South Africa
rly?
Yea
that cool ig
I've visited a couple times
as Ive said before, i dont mine doing it but he himself volunteered
I got an old friend from Sa but he was in a private school so he rich
he was the 1 that asked me if I wanted to upgrade the pc
sheesh
bro goes to private school thats crazy
ok then any reccomendations?
mobo + cpu
He moved to public school in uk and got bullied Tf out of for it
Just look around in diff sites
idk wheather that was an upgrade or not ngl
And then ask here if theyāre good
ok
From sa to UK he said was best thing he done in his life
but how do ik if a cpu is supported by a motherboard
good for him :D/
1 of my teachers also got a job in uk
was rly happy for him
Pcpartpicker will tell u and the socket decides
Am4 mobo am4 cpu etc
ok
i think ill go for a ryzen 3
idk which 1
but a ryzen 3
wait found 1
AMD Ryzen 3 4100 4-Core 3.8GHz CPU Processor
is this good?
in budget
How much is it
okay
MSI B450M-APRO MAX II AMD AM4 MATX Gaming Motherboard
now start looking for a GPU
B450 is good
tbh dont need it now. I think a ryzen 3 is ennough
mobo?
Yh
PRIME H310M-E R2.0
what about a GPU
also a power supply isnt??
leave it
ryzen 3 is good enough
my cpu that i have in ancient š
2nd gen i5 bru
650 should be enough
the ryzen 3
mobo
ima just use my current ram
oh wait
I cant
I need new ram
f'sss
š²
oh it says ddr4 ram
DDR4 Memory: DDR4 2667/ 2800/ 2933/ 3000/ 3066/ 3200/ 3466/ 3733/ 3866/ 4000/ 4133 MHz (by A-XMP OC MODE), 1866/ 2133/ 2400/ 2667Mhz (by JEDEC)

what is this conversation š
Honestly dont know
