#đžâ Hardware & PC Building
1 messages ¡ Page 8 of 1
too small for a reasonable price
unless you wanna move around games 24/7 or only play like 3
i didn t ckecked but it should be alright, both are fine tbh
okay, dope
480g would be enough
and you can still get a nvme
random writes are insane, and iops
And what about the 1500 PSU? Is 1500 watts necessary?
from what I've seen at least for what is sold near me, it's $1200 for 375gb p4800x
not necessary, but generally higher wattage psus (and more efficient ones) will be able to run fanless more
i'd get an 80+ platinum psu with the money saved from not buying a 4tb 990 pro
so what SSD should i get then if not the 4TB 990 pro?
2tb 990 pro
that s way toi mich, i can find p5000x for like 480⏠for 480gb
used or new?
corsair is better
i mean, whether i get a 2tb ot 2tb 990, it comes up to the same price lol
that's more reasonable but still way tooo expensive
new
wdym, like 2x 990?
just get a single 990 pro and upgrade when necessary
but this is proper storage
not the garbo nvme shit
i'm not denying it, but it's so damn overkill
p1600x is still faster than any nvme
like if you want faster storage it's cheaper to buy more ram for more cache
yes 116gb but like 40 bucks
Okay, so maybe i should go with 1200 watts instead?
why ?
i suppose i could get the Corsair HX1500i (2022)
also optane as insane endurance
irrelevant for desktop use
?
Sorry, i don't even know what optane is. Forgive my ignorance lol
i've had my main ssd for 1.5 years and it's at 20tbw/98% (kc3000 1tb)
shit wont die also has perfect performance whenit s full or not
my other ssd that I've had for 6 years is at 35tbw/77% (mx500 500gb)
some intel server grade storage tech, pretty damn good
it's amazing but honestly if you're not an enterprise user it's barely worth it
mx500 is đđđđđ
it's overpriced now but aged like fine wine
at the time it was an amazing mid range ssd
price did increase ?
no, but did not decrease much
i wanted to get some for my ps4 and parents laptop
i bought my m.2 sata mx500 500gb for like 100⏠i think 6 yrs ago
grip
thats expansive
i also need one for my xbox 360
notice the 6 years ago part, it was like semi budget at the time
it s still the best sata ssd
84âŹ
bx500 is shit tho
except enterprise ssds no?
thats not sata
yes it is
sata m.2
i was refering to the big ol mx500
big ol mx500 is identical no?
not sure, no
mx500 icomes with drams
yours is dram less ?
at that price, m.2 are usually dram lesss
Alright, made a few changes according to your suggestions: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/4zdQ9c
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
definitely dram-full
Quite a few combability notes:
Note: Fan compatibility checking is currently not supported.
B
Note: Some AMD X670E chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update to fully utilize 24 GB RAM modules.
C
Note: The Corsair HX1500i (2022) 1500 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply length of 200mm is within the Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case maximum of 255mm, but exceeds the recommended length of 155mm. Please verify that the connector locations on the power supply will not interfere with the structure of the case.
D
Note: The video card PCIe 16-pin power connector adapter is being supplied by three 6+2-pin power connectors. Please ensure that the three 6+2-pin power connectors are not daisy-chained and do not share the same power cable.
E
Note: Unable to verify the Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower Case has sufficient mounting depth to support the MSI SUPRIM LIQUID X GeForce RTX 4090 24 GB Video Card 240 mm radiator.
F
Disclaimer: Some physical constraints are not checked, such as RAM clearance with CPU Coolers.
maybe not, some use false dram to boost burst read and write
not bad
also get the gpu and maybe case second hand
would save some bucks
but afaik m.2 mx500 is identical to 2.5" mx500, both sata
hmm
95k IOPS supposedly
i can fond 2tb mx500 for 120⏠new sexond hand
I'll definitely need a different PSU though
which i exceed
A. Not a concern
B. Not a concern, just use BIOS flashback if you don't get a POST initially
D. Worry about that when you actually build - it's just telling you not to be a dummy
E. Don't look at that it's just PCPartPicker whining that it can't verify stuff
F. Same as E
maybe get the lianli o11 dynamics , whit is cheaper and overall bigger
you might not need
there's a chance it might block something stupid like 3.5" drive slots
with your budget, there's no reason to have a 3.5" drive
o11 dynamic is a beautiful case
sexy
â¤ď¸
but i don t like case, usually useless
okay, o11 dynamic it is
How DARE you SELECT a CASE!
YOU ARE LIMITING AIRFLOW!!!
true
you don t need fĂ s with an open cse setup
I have a few 3.5" drives I should get rid of on my main setup
they're just spinning for no reason
pcie 4 ssd on pcie 3
1s gonna disconnect these drives
165k read IOPS
optane is 500k
I know the msi GPU is in stock, but the 4090 FE is like 700$ cheaper
gen5 is 1 million
really ?
then go for it
fe pcb is better than most cheap ass 4090
but cooling might be an issue
its supposed to get way more
up to 450k lol
@nimble ingot q32t16 is kinda cheating but hey
10 c diif ?
That is still a lot, ngl
peak performance, plus settings -> nvme ssd
peek performance preset is bad get real world
is the 990 pro 4tb the best ssd for the value and perofrmance or are there better options out there?
the best
2 ssds can be a better value
if you get like a 2tb 990 pro and 4tb some other slightly worse ssd
and what is the need for 48GB of ram again?
what is the need for a 4090?
Because
Money
but isn't 32 GB enough?
Does RAM increase frames and overall performance?
complicated answer
if you have enough of it, it doesn't matter how much extra you have
BUT, all modern OSes use RAM as disk cache when you have extrea
but with a 990 pro it won't matter anyways
so then i shouldn't need 48 GB is what i'm hearing
not now probably
32 GB should be sufficient enough
if you only game
yeah, right now i only intend to game
can you explain that in words that i can understand lol. I'm not a pc nerd yet haha
the chips in the 24gb sticks are faster
some scales better with coltages etc
ohh, isee
My 2 2 TB hard drives have been fully decommissioned
They will either be repurposed for a NAS, or will be physically destroyed
why break them wtflip
so nobody ever finds your data on them
usually done when health is low
secure erase
can't really do that if your hard drives are nearly dead
if he is gonna repurpose them for a nas i doubt they are low health
idk why destroy then
The hard drives are not being used anymore as it has been completely been replaced by my SSD external storage
The hard drives have been spinning for no reason other than to just be alive, as waste of use. Power plans can reduce the uptime but that only goes so far
I do not sell any storage drives unless they were never in contact with my systems. If I have no use for an obsolete drive, I erase, then destroy
Iâm aware that SSDs are limited in writes before anyone is like âbut Tellinq you should be using the hard drives for long term storage youâre wasting writes!!!â No Iâm really not. Even so, the SSDs I use will last me way longer than any hard drive will. I donât write terabytes of data each day. By the end, the hard drives would die first at the rate Iâm using them
These drives were originally intended to be used for video storage. However, my hard drives eventually became a bottleneck.
I did eventually directly record to my SSD (which was 512 GB before I upgraded), and then set up a schedule to transfer my videos before my system shut down, but even that became a waste of time
So eventually the hard drives became a place for long term storage, but then traveling became a matter when I started my college semester. I instead opted to use an external drive as that was easily more obtainable for me
Which brings me to now - the drives serve absolutely no purpose than to be a slow alternative to storage. I havenât had a need for them for almost a year, but never took them out
I use your messages to build my reading endurance
LMFAO
I use his messages to practice skimming large texts
Pathetic
As long as I have good comprehension I'm just being efficient
If I don't have a good idea what you are saying then I do read the whole thing
Fair enough
Iâm the best skimmer in the world
Even if itâs only one sentence I donât read it fully
LMAO I LOVE IT
UH OHHHHâŚ
Nope thatâs the controller freaking out
which controller
@tulip sage how are the TL non LCD fans? I heard theyâre very similar to the P28 and I wanna get the TL non LCD variants as that has a 140mm version
Motherboardâs
tbh theyvhavent grown on me much
But however what confuses me
Arenât the lights for everything else connected to a HUB?
the lcd ones are in the open and are beautiful
Is ur pfp dantes and his bro
yeah
W
I couldnât see donât have contacts in
Thought it was
Bro I need to get some magestical colour contacts
My eyes r blue but imagine I had like Gojo satoru ass eyes
@tulip sage for the LCD and non LCD version did you have to use two separate hubs or do they use the same one?
I saw that you had to have different ones but when I checked on Amazon for the controller itself it seemed to be okay with one
OH EXCELLENT
The problem I have with Lian-liâs approach with fan cluster is that while the RGB is independent, the fan PWM signal is duplicated
Well.. kinda
See lian li is a bit smart where the middle fan section doesnât hold the exact same RPM to reduce resonance, but thatâs only good for setups that only need one RPM chain
Good for radiator setups
For front intake⌠not so much
same hub
however SL-INF120 and TL120 cannot use the same hub
tl-led and tl-lcd can share
Ahh
Because of the flickering?
oh
i just made it white and it stopped flickering
i jus had to open gskill
for some rzn it bugged
Oh ffs gskill
Wait why do you need THAT software for lighting thatâs controlled by the motherboard
Ah yes Armory Crate
Yeah that works too
But last I used in 2019 it was HELLA lackluster
When there was Synapse integration I was all for it
Thankfully OpenRGB dwarfs that
I had to make my own fork of OpenRGB to get my Deathstalker working as they didnât have the TKL variant supported
But the full size was
Also if you need a better solution for fan curves https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases/releases/tag/V183
RPM mode comes in huge clutch
fancontrol my beloved â¤ď¸
Shame itâs Windows only
I recently went back to WindowsâŚ. Again
the only time I need to boot into windows is for 1 class
I also wish matlab didn't suck on linux tho
(probably a wayland issue tbf)
does anyone have experience with l-connect 3
i cant make my fans share the same effect
Never used it
I personally only like interfacing on FanControl and OpenRGB
thatâs it
Tho tbf for your case now that you have SCREENS
guess thatâs not feasible
cant jus pr it?
4 sticks so pretty
sometimes i wanna go itx just to have my ram sticks next to each other
I have to make a GitLab account and I cba to do that
Their PR requirements are a bit weird so I didnât want to make one
Looks like someone already made a PR for it anyways so I should be good
yep i dont regret this purchase def a W to me
def gonna look into an lcd for the cpu block cus i dont like the tint of white that it has
I really want to get 4 TL140mm but not sure how much of a difference itâll make against the Phanteks SK140 I have
Either way my temps are fine
The main issue I have is that my SK140 bearings have an audible rattle like sound
Been nice having the hard drives unplugged
Quieter now, less drives to check for bootable media so slightly faster POST timings
How did you replace the storage?
Didnât need to
They werenât even formatted
why did you even have them plugged in them
Just in case I ever decided to use them
Which didnât end up happening
So it was more of a waste
just store them in a drawer or something
Refer to this #1082628292349284382 message
Already have
ah good
For long term storage I already have my 4 TB bootable external M.2 SSD
I migrated to that a few months ago
"By the end, the hard drives would die first at the rate Iâm using them"
but dont hard drives die mostly due to run time rather than usage
@maiden hull
build a media server or a nas for stuff that you might need?
Yea thatâs basically what I mentioned
Uptime
ahh got it
When I said by the rate Iâm using them - I meant by very little
i c i c
I donât always need to put stuff to my SSD
So really my SSD would last me longer
i thought you meant like heavy reads and writes
Yea no
got it
is that external??
Unless the head decided to spin like no tomorrow
nice
Only caveat is that the system you use MUST support an NVME controller
Otherwise itâll never be detected despite interfacing with USB
oh yeah i actually saw linus talking about that once
Chances are it could serve useful as a media server
yeah definitely
I have a lot of old CDs that I should rip to the drives
Itâs not piracy if I own the CDs and DVDs!!
Think Smart, donât fall for the lies of Big Media.
I hate that Disney+ borked the Microsoft Store app to use the PWA version
So now itâs all forced at 720p
Just like NetflixâŚ
oh wow streaming services actively trying to degrade the user experience to steal even more money
what a surprise
i am sure nobody saw this coming
I expected it to eventually happen, just caught me off guard WHEN they did it
Fortunately Iâm not the one paying for Disney+, my parents are as they use it and gracefully let me join in
But they watch it on an actual TV that benefits so itâs not a big deal for them
I also have a tv in my own bedroom but I prefer watching on my ultrawide
I only have a 1080p tv and prefer my 3440x1440 monitor but whatever
Now itâs pointless due to stupid DRM
i have a plex media server which i ripped 4k blurays to and just use plex on my parent's tv or just directly access it through explorer on my sisters laptop which is 2560x1600 and hdr
Amazon Prime Video recently added ads to their platform without changing the price, thought they did add an ad free tier for $3 more a month
dayum
Looks sick, nice work!
tyty
Really clean
you mean back facing power connectors?
Yeah no thatâs just the Hyte Y60
thats a motherboard not a case : p
well yeah but you need a specific case that is compatible with those connectors. I was just confused as to what z1xus was asking
lmao
no clue what he meant either dw
yes that
i wrote that half asleep alright
Chat should I get a case to downsize this ATX build?
Oh dear
I mean personally I wouldn't bother unless it was an actual issue
Iâm mainly trying to make a more compact setup
In that case, go for it
I'm looking into building an itx system for myself
Seems convenient for the dorm setup
Yeah itâs practical
Unless you want to eGPU
But itâs kinda pointless for PCIe gen 4 devices
personally, i'd just get a laptop for that. its the most convenient. Just 2 cables (charging, and thunderbolt)
performance isnt bad either
He has a laptop with a solid cpu (13700H I think?)
Just not the GPU
He could just eGPU with his 2070 super since thatâs still PCIe gen. 3
Wouldnât be as bottlenecked as the PCIe gen 4 cards
YES
i have decided my next setup will be an itx with am5
wish i had money LMAO
Oh really? Iâm skipping AM5 entirely!
@pale coral how recent have you dealt with AM5 at Microcenter? Are you able to comment on their current stability (or lack thereof if thatâs still a problem)?
All major brand ones zero quality and stability issues compared to am4, but ppl have come for fixing computers they built with cheap weird brand am5 mb and they can hold a overclock or Pbo for shit
Hmmm
If thatâs the case I wonât worry about recommending AM5 so long as they update the UEFI
same goes with LGA 1700
Though never get ryzen 9 for 7000 series if you game more then anything else
Iâm still on am4 even after building lga1700 and am5 computers cause the 5800x3D with good B-die gives you on par gaming performance with bloated windows running intel or amd newer CPUâs that are running stock
5800x3D runs 600-800 optimized Valorant max settings at 1440p, 7950 or 7900 gives you about 100 fps less all be it cause they arenât monolith die
And if you go intel, turn off all p cores to get more fps or it just ties with the 5800 if u leave them on
Assuming u running stock xmp on all the setups
Unless you play tarkov or cod then intel p cores off the way to go cause of amd dip
@ me with any further questions going to bed
How does this work?
Yeah I mean I'm on a laptop setup right now. I was definitely considering getting an egpu but I wouldn't be able to use it for a while since I won't be home to get my GPU until the semester is over
P cores? Or did you mean e cores?
I know with e cores you can toggle it in the UEFI via scroll lock if you turn on Legacy Game Compatibility
Yes my bad
is this a sign that my hdd is dying?
this was me trying to move a bunch of photos from my ssd to my hdd
@sand geyser ^
for me shi was happening from thje very beginning
it's not the HDD slowing down, but Windows cache
perfectly normal
windows + hdd cache actually
Oh alr đđž
My build is done and itâs all connected because I see the cpu cooler and gpu lighting up but Iâm not getting a display? Iâm trying to install windows but I genuinely canât boot into bios even
The hdmi is connected to gpu
search up "POST troubleshooting"
(power on self test)
it just means the getting the monitor to actually display something
the thing i forgot for my first build was to connect the CPU pins on the motherboard
Does your motherboard contain any debug codes or LEDs? That would give a bit more context
Unfortunately no
And I just finished the post troubleshooting
Cable management is a mess I know
Iâll work on it
I just want to get the first boot running
specs?
you should have debugging leds next to the ram slots
on the right side
I5-12400f
1080
2x8gb
H610-k d4
Nothing
Youâd be surprised how many cheap boards donât have this
Which is why I use speakers
@long depot thereâs your issue
You need to plug in your PCIe cables in those two 8 pins
I did
But I forgot to take a pic after it
Just a sec
I have the hdmi on mobo rn anyways
Until I reach bios
That never will give a signal anyways since you have an F skew
^
Even changing the display out mid post wonât help your case
Bios doesnât need an igpu
no display is usually ram issue
Once it finds a VGA output, itâll stick with that and wonât reinitialize until you restart the PC
well it is the most common usually
Iâve actually found way more common reasons than RAM
oh i c
itâs usually a fault from you
most pcs that dont get a display that ive gotten was solved through just reseating the ram
bios wise it should be fine without any updates
Aside from the horrid cable management does something seem off?
But Iâve seen instances where it can
I havenât fully screwed it in yet Iâm reseating it constantly so would be a pain
But it shouldnât turn on if thatâs the issue right?
lay it down flat then if you have the space for it
have you tried using just one ram stick?
That CPU 8 pin connector isnât all the way in by the way
Close to being in is not in
Yeah itâs currently only 1
Not necessarily
You can still have some pins making contact but not all
also did you check if any thermal paste went inside the socket of the cpu?
that can cause improper contact at times
As long as the clip on that cable clicked, itâs fine
Looks good enough now
I donât think itâs a cpu issue either because when I tried reseating the cpu after a boot it burned my finger
I mean it more of slid in not really clicked
Can I see a visual on what the clip side looks like right now?
Ye
try a diff gpu if you have another one at hand
or try and put the 1080 into another system and see if it boots
Iâm connecting my hdmi directly to the mobo not a gpu issue aswell
but its a 12400f
so no igpu
lol
Still
Thatâs not how graphics works
If a piece of hardware doesnât physically include a graphics controller, it will never send a display out
well if theres heat from the cpu it might be a gpu issue
if you have another cpu which is the same socket which has an igpu try it with that
Unfortunately I donât
do you have another pc with you?
try and put the 1080 in that
or take it to a friend's house and put it in their system and try it ig
Yeah at this point the best you can do is reseat, and then swap out hardware with someone who can
sheesh
But donât assume anything, despite the symptoms
Even if something appears as healthy, you canât trust that until you verify that all components work in the POST -> Boot -> Use cycle
Lighting does not indicate that a part is fine
CPU heat doesn't mean that the CPU is fine
Motherboard giving power to parts does not indicate that the motherboard is fine
PSU giving power doesn't mean that the PSU is fine
RAM being seated all the way doesn't mean that it's fine
If you want a better indication, get a PC speaker if you can't take the PC anywhere else for a hardware swap
@long depot last thing I can think of is swapping the RAM stick to the first slot instead of the second
Yes, it can make a difference if the memory channel on either the CPU or motherboard doesn't work
Oh my god
I did that
But also
After all this time
I just found out my power led isnât connected
Im finally getting beeps
oh yeah doesn't the power LED on newer ASUS boards just have a code flash?
what's the frequency of it? (send a video)
the frequency will indicate what's wrong
pretty sure the quicker it is, the problem will lie in the earlier checks
hold I got a manual to check for it
Itâs infinitely short no?
ye i'd consider that rapid
A. Power LED flashes quickly after power on, flashing 4 times per second (no memory or memory error)
B. Power LED flashes slowly after power on, flashing once every 2 seconds (no VGA card or VGA card error)
C. The Power LED flashes super slowly, the light is on for 4 seconds, and the light is off for 4 seconds (no boot device or boot device error)
that's how ASUS blink codes will work
so yeah it's gonna have to be memory related
either memory channel
memory contact
or just bad module
So replace ram first?
Can you take the slot out and send pics of the module on both sides, as well as the slots
just wanna see if I can see any obvious interference
then yeah
i would start replacing RAM
Can you make sure this wire isnât upside down cause itâs suppose to click in and from this picture I donât see a clip on the motherboard side where it plugs into only on the power cable, if it slides out without having to un clip this has been the cause of your issue
Also bios will always prioritize gpu over Igpu for bios output, so either way always have hemi plugged into gpu for best first boot outcome
well if it is upside down then the mobo should be fried by now right?
No
he doesnt have an igpu
ahh i c
So everything will get power but cpu wonât do nothing
đđž
Thatâs also why to come ppl itâll look like a ram issue
but he said that when he tried to take it out he burnt his fingers cuz the cpu was hot
đ trust ppl bring their computers in after failing to build their own pc at work, itâs a free scam bro when itâs just one wire we have to flip and make ez $50-$200 off em
lmfaoo
Micro center policies charged just for the check up but still it be funny
do you get commissions for the pcs you fix?
Cpu gets most of itâs tdp from the motherboard, but if the wire is upside down youâll get a ground loop that makes it go into safe mode
Itâs just safe to check especially if everything lights but unresponsive
ahh alr
Idk about you but in 99% of pplâs computers the clip on the top left is supposed to be facing the case not the motherboard
đ either that or Iâm remembering wrong but I donât think so
lol i dont remember either
i didnt even know you could plug it upside down because i thought the molding of the housing wouldnt let you do that
ohh
The clips almost always ontop
@pale coral doesnât the EPS cable upside down just not fit?
^
Last I tried it just would never fit in
thats what i thought
It fits cause cheap motherboards donât have hard enough plastic on their ground channel in the 6 pin
Oh yikes
So itâs not exactly fully square so it can be forced in
Last time I had a customer with that issue was 3 days ago
They got a 4 pin + 6pin cpu connector
The 4 pin was side ways
đ
sideways??
Not even upside down
how did they not notice the clips LOL
truee
i thought plugging it in upside down would create a huge short and fry the whole thing tbh
But yeah no building a pc for first boot with almost a 90% success rate is my specialty, the remaining 10% be fan hubs, they always picky out certain motherboard sys_fan connections they donât be wanting to boot without power cycling the pc to infinity
If this was the case a lot of ppl wouldnât build their own pc, imagine building your pc for the first time just to see it burn, smell, and go down in unfortunate glory
You would never wanna buy parts again
oh yeah dont psus have a sort of protection towards that
That too
Anything that creates a loop between power and electricity just shuts off that rail on the psu if not just the psu all together just cycles and turns off if it was a real bad connection
Yeah + fire alarm and your local fire department if that failed
redundancy
it turned out to be a ram issue
Take it out and put it back in ong imagine if it just wasnât in all the way
đ
But do double check the top left power cable isnât upside down so under stress test, editing or gaming workloads you donât crash cause of power
Tip for my pc nerd if you like to alt tab in full screen mode but donât like hanging out in a black screen for 2-5 seconds switching the color space to 8-bit depth, 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 color format gets rid of the hang and alt tabbing in full screen is 0.5 to 1 second tops
Instant alt tabs in full screen though do be aware dropping to certain color spaces looks goofy on some panels
all 3 of my builds worked first time
had no issues
...well except when my ram wasnt detected.
all it took was a reseat
Yup, at last
Sadly ADLX plugin support was also broken... so whatever
Anyone here own a 240 HZ QD OLED monitor and have anything bad to say about it?
I don't have one but honestly OLED is the way to go if you have the cash
lower latency and insane contrast
text might look a little funky because of the subpixel layout
hold on let me cool my case
are there any advantages to buying 2x16 and replacing the 2x8 in my laptop, over buying 1x32 and having 40 gigs total?
as it costs the same
and there would be less hardware wasted
I mean just add 2x16 to 2x8 if you have 4 slots, if you only have two slots 2x16 will run you better then 1x32 unless your future plan is to run 2x32, but a laptop will never use that much ram youâll be bottlenecked by any other piece of your hardware before you need that much ram on a laptop
It would be 1x 8 and 1x32 not 1x32
Together 40
The usecase is virtual machine s
Tough call, I normally would just 2x16 anyway for the pure fact of better compatibility, bandwidth is nearly the same. And itâs easier for the cpu to make calls to identical ram sticks
Alr
cool username
danke mann
good 4K TVs are such a visual treat
hello
i just won 350$ from a minecraft tournament
and would like to purchasde a new gpu
hwich will be 2nd hand
i have a 10870 which i can add onto it
gpu for $350??
get a used 3080 or smt
wtf what tournament
local
r there any trusted second hand tech sites
like where they r viewed by someone before being sold
not aware of any personally, though I did buy my last GPU off of craigslist and it worked out fine. I know ebay has pretty good buyer protection and will side with you if the card arrives broken or smt
idk man 3080 seems way out of budget
you should find one for $450
what psu do you have now?
what case?
the case is good
so is ghe cooler
case is a deepcool zomething
ill cehck psu name i dorgor
question is if a long gpu will fit
pf700?
im not sure about it being even "good enough" for 3080
damn
you should wait for 2nd opinion tho
idk where are you from but
ah ok well in that case i guess go for a 3070 or something. should be okay with ur case and PSU
georgia the country, dont wanna go for anything in tbe us since i have to pay an additional 20% tax and returning will be impossible

Anyone know where I can find an actually decent English manual or pc building video for the O11 Dynamic. This stuff is in mandarin lmaooo
You donât need a case-specific guide
But go on yt and look up âo11 dynamic pc building tutorialâ or something along those lines
It is the most sold case in the US. If anyone fails to find a yt video on how to build in this case, we failed. Even my first time building in it was easier than any other case Iâve ever built in before.
Punctuation holy shit
I donât use any my bad
đ
Itâs a choice, out of laziness. đ
Iâll try and remember to add some.
I forget to use punctuation when Iâm typing with swipe to text on mobile
Fixed.
I got smooth brain when I wake up, I apologize good sir
Prawn here with a install guide on the Lian Li 011 Dynamic Evo. Here I'm detailing how to build it in a "standard" format as well as talking about issues I had along the way with various things, particularly the cable management, SSD placement and the optional vertical mounting bracket. The Evo is a great case for all sorts of modular reasons, ...
love this guy
SSD prices fucked again
they were good for about a year
Literal cartel behaviour
aw man just as i was thinking about getting a new ssd :(
I'm glad I jumped on a 1tb NVMe SSD for my laptop as an impulse buy because it was under the magic 1000kÄ (40âŹish) mental barrier
It's shit perf-wise but it does the job
now, it's risen from 899kÄ to 1800kÄ (35âŹish to double that)
was thinking about recommending my sister to get another 1 tb ssd for her laptop cuz she does architecture work and she could use extra storage
also her current storage is running out which is just a 1 tb samsung ssd
damn 40 is pretty cheap for a 1 tb ssd
lemme check how hard ssd prices are fucked here
35.57⏠/$38.63
cheaper than 1tb hdds for a fucking nvme ssd is wild
(although to be fair the hdds have better sustained write performance)
exactly $130*
no other reputable sellers here honestly
god if you have to resort to calling scamazon reputable your situation's fucked
well i mean they are pretty reliable here
i prefer them more than flipkart which is the only other option here which doesnt take high af shipping fees
this is the cheapest 1 tb nvme on amazon
what the fufck
you have found me out
is this beacuse of tsmc
$69
read article
lmfaooo nice
yep, spot on, that's the one i got for $39!
damn
don't buy it unless it's in a ~6th gen intel or older office pc/8th gen or older laptop
it be slow
dramless qlc
amd 6000 series
supposedly very power efficient
yes, no it's not
it's a cheap ssd characteristic as well as a 2230 characteristic
qlc is everywhere, some are okay, but since it's the cheapest you can guess where most of it is going
yeaaah those are much better
or maybe I'm confusing them with the older models idk
read reviews!!!!
and avoid dramless
4.5 stars aint bad
not amazon fucking reviews
ah yeah right
amazon reviews you might as well create a random number and go by it
well, RGB SSDs are a thing

brand sells rgb ssd
same brands sells power efficient ssds
imagine
i bet the rgb ssds will have more sales
ah damn i found the same ssd for about 2k rupees cheaper
nvm its the 500 gb variant
oh my god i found the gen 4 variant of the one you have

"gaming storage"
funnily enough, the crucial P1 i had (p2/p3/p3+ predecessor), while slower on paper, was faster irl in every way than my p3
both 1tb, but only went down to 120mb/s instead of 40mb/s, and had 1gb of DRAM
and more physical dies iirc
yeah true
meanwhile my desktop's ssd being 48 times faster than my laptop's:
Kingston KC3000 1TB
i've one too (in my desktop definitely not stolen from my laptop), and it's good. you have to find out the "normal" model if you wanna know anything else though
lol nice
Please
what do you use them for
Minecraft
(IM JOKING)
One of my 1 TB drives is on my main VM systems (should be explanatory on what thatâs doing)
My 1 TB drive is for boot and other non-portable apps
My 2 TB is my ReFS âDevâ Drive when not using Linux
As for other long term data
It would be a foolâs errand to keep them in my internal system
Made that mistake once
Never again
How not to solder bga chip
So I updated the bios for my mb. However, when I try to install windows, it doesnât locate any existing drives? Why could that be?
In the BIOS, I can see my two SSDâs and HDD which means it canât be an issue with the hardware
And no, AMD
uhh
they are just not present?
Itâs strange, BIOS can detect my drives, but not windows update from my usb bootable drive
I try to scan for them, and it gives me an error message saying ÂŤÂ We are unable to find blah blah bâah
my friend encountered the same issue, but for him it was because of the enabled intel vmd
Hmmm
perchance amd has an analogue technology that you can disable in bios?
where
This happens when I get out of bios and choose to install windows from my bootable drive
can you boot into the install?
As in enable CSM?
CSM shouldnât be enabled
It isnât
Hmm
.
What is that? Sorry, sort of new to the technical terms
Yes^^^
open cmd in win install
Hold on Windows Update through⌠bootable USB??
The hell?
and check if disk are visible in diskpart
I hit install and it prepares files, and then it asks me to choose where to install it. However, my SSDâs and HDD canât be scanned or found
OH
Shift+F10
I misread your initial message
Well, itâs not wanting a specific drive. It just wanted me to choose one lol
wait
So would that be something within the bios that I need to disable or enable or is it something other than that?
Itâs an iso file for windows 10
Usually you shouldnât have to
ok but what are you trying to do
Install thĂŠ os on my ssd
I donât own any X670 boards but typically if itâs not able to find drives it usually means thereâs some drive specific setting on in UEFI
Usually RAID or Rapid Storage (for Intel)
is that a new ssd
In that case it would ask for a driver
clean one
New PC
not formatted
Yes, everything in this pc is new. Like brand spanking new
so
I built it very recently
once again
cmd
and diskpart
you can try to format the drive
and assign a letter
or just format it
You shouldnât have to do this though
it might help
Where did you see it on?
I didnât see it on based off your screenshots
Just a hunch
Usually thatâs what is causing it
Ye
well, we dont know what the issue is
it can even be the bootable usb
wrong partition set
Perhaps
How the heck did you even get a bootable USB in the first place?
Iâll go to properties on my bootable windows drive and show you guys
I bought a usb, installed the iso file and copied it to the usb
You donât exactly install ISO files btw
Youâre really supposed to flash it using a utility like Rufus - that will properly copy the contents to the USB and add a bootable entry,
or
copy the ISO itself on bootable media that boots off of ISOs such as Ventoy (which is what I use)
It wonât through File Explorer
ESD-ISO hmm
What tool did you use to flash this?
Or did you just copy-paste
Lets start over
If you have Rufus on that system use that
But before flashing let me see the options first alright?
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ventoy/files/latest/download I use Ventoy so Iâm more familiar with that but no point if you have Rufus
A New Bootable USB Solution
yo
Just only thing you need to change in the install section is MBR -> GPT
clean your link đŞĽ
clean your link i wont repeat it
your drive will be defragged real quick if you wont listen
im going to ask ixrf for help
@icy frigate
Let me try a few things in the bios before I wipe my drive and start over
Nah windows wouldnât care
Okay, so thatâs definitely not a problem to start thinking about
I suppose next step would be to wipe my usb and install the iso file from your link
Perhaps it has something to do with Rufus but who knows
Ngl this Iâve only ever seen happened once, where windows only wanted to install on legacy mode instead of uefi
Now I have a different issue
Windows 11 is installed, but my drives arenât showing up in file explorer. I also updated the drivers for each storage device in DM
Format them in drive manager?
I created new volumes for both, but they still donât appear in file explorer
they donât show as unallocated in Disk Management
send a screenshot of what they show as
have you assigned letters to them
If theyâre black then theyâre not initialized
Remember: screenshots are going to help us more than you trying to word it
I figured it out, thanks guys
