Looking into making an ITX or mATX build for either my 12700K or 14900K

I might consider mATX, depending on board pricing and feature-set

I went on PCPartPicker to find Z690 or Z790 boards $200 or less. These were the first few options:

ASUS ROG Strix Z690-I

ASRock Z690M-ITX/ax

ASUS Prime Z790M-Plus D4

ASRock Z790M-PG Lightning D4

ASUS Prime Z790M-Plus

For reference, I’m coming from an ASUS Prime Z690-P Wi-Fi D4. If the ASUS ROG Z690-I is not a terrible motherboard, I might outright switch to it and go DDR5 (as I will need one eventually for compatibility testing for CB)

If the Strix Z690-I is worth it in terms of either choosing strictly an ITX or mATX build, I’d also like some DDR5 suggestions. Preferably around the 32-64 GB range

Also open to case suggestions. I think I can manage the cooler choices tho

Typically auto overclocking implementations should be avoided but ASUS seems to have done a pretty good job with theirs

Just don’t get confused with their OC Tuner

That’s just a 200 MHz uplift on the two first cores

They also have some “ai cooling” implementation and “ai networking” but I have absolutely no clue what the ins and outs of those do

Unless you’re not using your motherboard fan headers

Say like corsairs controller box that requires fricking iCUE

(Or you can just use FanControl with the CorsairLink plugin and you can set up a way better cooling solution than iCUE ever can)
