Looking into making an ITX or mATX build for either my 12700K or 14900K
I might consider mATX, depending on board pricing and feature-set
I went on PCPartPicker to find Z690 or Z790 boards $200 or less. These were the first few options:
For reference, Iâm coming from an ASUS Prime Z690-P Wi-Fi D4. If the ASUS ROG Z690-I is not a terrible motherboard, I might outright switch to it and go DDR5 (as I will need one eventually for compatibility testing for CB)
ASUS ROG Strix Z690-I Gaming WiFi 6E is the perfect backbone for gamers who pursue ultimate performance out of Intel 12th Gen CPU mini-ITX PC build. If the Strix Z690-I is worth it in terms of either choosing strictly an ITX or mATX build, Iâd also like some DDR5 suggestions. Preferably around the 32-64 GB range
Also open to case suggestions. I think I can manage the cooler choices tho
I also do not mind 48 GB. My 64 GB rig does surpass 32 GB, but it has ever surpassed 40 GB
my tubes are assembled opposite LMFAO?
wait no
how tf r his fully relaxed and mine are stressed
Iâm just going to list more boards I find under or around $200. No implication if theyâre good or not, just going back later to see if they are worth my attention
Feel free to obliterate any unworthy boards

Nah more like his are
But really itâs just how you rotated them when inserting the rad in
Hmm
hopefully
it doesnt OPEN
but ima try and turn them until they have no stress
kinda did it
hows this
Looks cool
This case seems like it might fit my needs
I donât expect to find ITX cases that will fit 360mm AIOs but if I can get a 280mm I should be set
My slim 3070 will definitely work tho
how much ram do you have
2x16
cables managed.

Kay
transform your 6 gigaherz to 6 giga hurts
@tulip sage what was your sole purpose to get the 4090? To beat my record?
Or did you just have wimpy power with your Thirty Eighty Tie
felt more complete
i wasnt chasing anything
it was my only "used" part and now everything is officially from retail
very happy with it
i wish i knew how to properly oc
everytime i try and touch my cpu clocks i crash lmao
Have you tried your motherboardâs built in AiOC?
Typically auto overclocking implementations should be avoided but ASUS seems to have done a pretty good job with theirs
Just donât get confused with their OC Tuner
Thatâs just a 200 MHz uplift on the two first cores
ill check it out after my shower
Alr
They also have some âai coolingâ implementation and âai networkingâ but I have absolutely no clue what the ins and outs of those do
But worth experimenting
Unless youâre not using your motherboard fan headers
Say like corsairs controller box that requires fricking iCUE
(Or you can just use FanControl with the CorsairLink plugin and you can set up a way better cooling solution than iCUE ever can)
id take icue any day over armory crate
I take neither
For fan control I use https://getfancontrol.com
Fan Control is a free software that allows the user to control his CPU, GPU and case fans using temperatures.
For perspective I use a Razer PWM controller since my motherboard is rather lackluster on port availability
- I donât use fans that are 100% proprietary
Pretty much a reason why I avoid Corsair like the plague
i have a corsair commander core xt
came with my old case and came with my new aio
cant wait to be 90% lian li
Do you not hear a click from the PSU?
i think so
ill check in a sec
i def forgot to plug something in when i rearranged my gpu tubes
cus i also cable managed everything
i does in fact not click
i have to flick the switch to cut the power
yo guys is this an acceptable amount of wear for a 3 year old ssd that came in a prebuilt?
yep, quite good I'd say
35 tbw and 84% for such a small ssd is fine
alr
pg lightning ddr5
Perhaps. Thatâs my second choice though if the ASUS Z690-I doesnât go down in price
Few days ago that was cheaper with what Iâd argue more features that I want
Obv not the case right now
Yeah your fine dw
Tubes at the bottom are technically better noise-wise
It wonât practically matter unless the pump is at the top
Air will always be at the highest point
#1082628292349284382 message
is there a certain cable that manages this
clicking restart doesnt work either derp
Nah the click is for the PSU switching off
wtf
zombie pc
i clicked restart and my monitors r off and pc still running
none of the motherboard indicators r on either
time for.. SFC SCANNOW
Do yourself a favor do the following commands:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Then sfc /scannow
Yup
Was about to mention
Iâm guessing I told you to do this before?
I forgot if that ever fixed one of your issues
annoying part is that when i cut the power manually all the lights go to rainbow -_-
nah i just figured since its a windows issue that might fix it
Ah
Yup thatâs the default for ASUS and Corsair
apparently its normal for atlasos to detect integrity violations
fax
Or itâs not shutdown.exe and a process just hangs
well it only started happening after i put it back together so im worried i forgot to plug soemthing in
but ig it just wouldnt boot at all
Yeah thatâs definitely a Windows issue
Like if you want to test that
Boot from a usb and immediately cancel it
To auto restart
If it doesnât work then yeah itâs something hardware wise which is just WEIRD
but Iâve had shutdown.exe issues since 2019
Always been Windows
ya just took some time
ok it found corrupt
and repaired
still not restarting tho
UGHHHFHH
IT WAS FINALLY PERFECT
WHAT HAVE I DONE
took the easy way out and GAVE UP
What where you trying to do
my compputer does not shut dowwn
The fuck
l ma o
fixed it
Windows installation?
Good
i guess it was some windows issue that it wasnt detecting
Ye
Thatâs just crazy tho
Last time I ever had that
Was something caused by CCleaner
windows doing windows things
yooo i might have a deal for a threadripper 3970x
thatd be a funny thing to own wouldnt it
Bro another issue w ur pc?
r u still using the z690f
i want the z690-I so I can experiment with AiOC + get that visual with my âstrongerâ cores
yes
fuck glass pads
y
do not believe in glass propaganda
you should go for the z790 platform
memory stability is way better
any z790 1dpc board will work really good
z690 is kinda ass in regards to that, even the z690 apex
ye but they're like 10x easier to clean
true
i love waiting for my mousepad to dry! đ
but it's much more annoying when something gets on the pad mid game
it's even better when you have a very soft pad
i have the aqua control+ rn
works well, but i would really like it being easier to clean lol
i hate my hands resting on a hard surface
sleeve
i hate playing in sleeve
and i like the extra control that cloth pad gives you
mmmm I love the hard edges and surface of the table
i have a 120x60cm deskpad and it's very nice
absolutely would not trade it for anything else just because of the comfyness
how much do used 2060 superâs usually go for in the us or other big countries?
I found one here for 67$ but I also have a friend going to the us soon so I might give him the money and tell him to get me a gpu from there
Oh yeah good idea
Thanks
Control to glass is a big switch
If you can get one for a good price though, go for it
Just be aware you might not like it or there will be a learning curve
I felt more in control with my Skypad
Ofc after I got used to it
twin
oj
do you thing DLDSR is worth it?
can you see the difference in quality?
i cant take two exact same images
or i could maybe
if you can't see a difference in quality, don't worry about it
in different location where light doesn't change
it's small enough that it doesn't matter unless the performance is the same
before
LMAO
thats the only thing it hasnt done đ
actually it did to my ram but at a smaller scale.
after
SERIOUSLY DON'T DO THIS. We used a board with a bunch of fails safes and backups! Bios updates should still be taken seriously.
SM better
agreed
đ„±đ„±
literally nothing
god i just checked userbench after a year again
they're still getting more schizo
like what the fuck is this
Part List - Intel Core i5-12400F, GeForce RTX 2060, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
opinions?
the ssd i already have from a previous pc and the 2060 only reason im getting it because used 2060 is 80$ here
Seems reasonable to me I guess
get a cheaper 1tb nvme ssd and use that money elsewhere
he said he alreadu has ssd
heheh
Hello, what MB would you guys recommend that is future proof for AMD and supports DDR5?
Iâm building a highend PC with a 4090 FE and ryzen 7 7800X3D
Yes
i overspent on my motherboard
Okay, so what do you have in mind that supports what Iâm looking for^^
FYI, I donât care about rgb in my build
are you looking to prioritize ghe best features for the price in spite of aesthetics?
im not giving you the solution, just use a few config builders and find something that is both popular and meets the amount of features you need
Well, I wonât be looking inside of my PC because Iâll be gaming. Thus, i think rgb is futile. I just want good performing parts
You said you had overspent on your mb. Which one did you get and what are you regrets?

Weâve done plenty of build guides before â But now weâre taking it to the next level. Not only will you know how to build a PC, youâll know how to build ANY PC â This is the LAST guide youâll ever need!
Discuss on the forum: https://linust...
z490-e from asus, i could've gotten a cheaper board and get away with it, it's overkill for no reason
So then you would also agree that the x670E wifi mob is overkill as well?
it depends on what you need
and i can't tell you if that's the case
you need to figure that out yourself
get an nvme

Choose Your Parts
fix link
i already have it from a previous build so it isnt really worth getting a new one but im debating on if i should go for 16gb or cheapen out a bit on the i5-12 and get 32
you can always upgrade ram, cpus are more expensive
oh yeah fair point i'll probably stick to this then
eh, an mx500 is quite good
Does this link work: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/N3qVTY
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
The parts i'm unsure about are the aio and MB. Everything is seems alright
damn that is a crazy build
Haha, indeed
Do you have any feedback regarding this build or do most parts make sense together?
seems p good to me
mobo might be a bit overkill but idk im not super knowledgeable abt motherboards
why do u need a pc that good dawg
why not
like what games ru playin
if he gives me valid games that he plans to play ill accept it
doesnt have to just be games
if he says minecraft we may have a problem
could be rendering stuff etc
anything work related is fair
but if its games
i dont see it justifiable to spend 5k to play games
some ppl have the money so why not
p sure you can get a 980 pro for around the same price of that 970 evo tho
i can afford to do all the things i've ever wanted to do in my life as long as i die tomorrow
this what i been saying
me and the boys pissin on the hien
don't get dual ssds (or at least get a secondary bigger than0.5tb), don't get a hard drive
- some nicer memory
So ideally i should just have one big SSD and nicer RAM. Okay
the ram looks fine for me but ive never built a pc this caliber icl
and i know fuck all about ram
@nimble ingot input ik u a RAM NERD.
Yeah, this is my first pc build, so i want to make sure i do it right you know
yeah lmaoo
bro has to just be rich or sum
I'm tryna play 4k
what games?
bro wants to build a pc and not worry about having good specs for the next ~5-10 years
Anything ranging from FPS games to open world
ah, i see. anything specific in mind or nah?
Precisely haha
right, who the hell wouldn't want to do that?
they makin the twix bigger, they tryna make us fat on god! fuck twix!
kanye west quote
fr
i remember the days when i could crank games to max
now im on an old card :(
what card?
2060
L
i used to play on that
ic
that's a big L
fr
but bro, honestly there are some decent priced cards with way highe performance than the 2060
i went from a 970 to a 2080 super
So you must know quite a bit about building pcs then?
yeah, i'm struggling to find a good aesthetic airflow pc case without tempered glass and ample spacing for GPU and other parts. Have any suggestions?
why without tempered glass
I'm more for performance than the RGB and stuff
i built my friend a pc with a 5000D and honestly its fucking beautiful. i loved how it came out and the airflow is suprisingly REALLY good, and the fans are quiet as hell
tempered glass is nice, his 5000d build had 0 RGB in and still looked amazing
Yeah, i heard good things too. I just won't be looking into my case often enough and because RGB adds like another 1000$, i don't need it imo
(cuz it was built by me and im amazing)
ohh, okay. No RGB in his build
the 5000D is a good choice then, its fully blacked out except the glass and if ur buying black parts its gunna look amazing, even if you don't look into it very often its okay to admire your work!
Did his build have an AIO in it?
it didn't
are you doing a batman build vortex
looks like u were jsut moving
i didnt have time to snap the pic!
he didnt want me2 take a pic but
yk i had to...
i might be running the @main flume case soon icl
iphone 7 is wild haha
what monitor u pairing ur pc with btw vortex?
good question. Probsbly a good ips panel with 4k and 144 hz
carboar box
i gave it to my cousin
OLED is kind of shit right now because the panels burn
z1xus case is criminal
but maybe some day in the future it will be better
i thought you fryin too đł đ„
why 144hz?
hear me out
i had to move this thing through 2 borders
and ride with it on a bus
2k km
Well, do you know any IPS panel monitors with 240 HZ and 4K? I can't find any existing ones
there was no way id be taking hte case too
Mos of them are VA panels which are ehhhh and OLED has some issues to work with first
erm ,. have you ever heard ,. " cloud storage ?' đ€Ł
oled isnt that bad
they only burn if ur staring at something for a very. very. very. long time
It's not bad at first, but after a few years, the panel becomes burnt
So if i'm spending 1000$ or more on a monitor, i want it to be reliable
ive had my 2nd monitor for 7 years and its OLED and nothings burned yet
ts is like an enderchest?
and its on my pc background the WHOLE DAY
so itsl ike a prime example
and its still not burned
hmmm
1080p 144hz oled
yeah
yeah, maybe the issue has to do with the highend oled monitors
couldn't you just do 1440p?
1440p is still great
like u can tell the difference 100% but
I suppose i could. Besides, most games can't run on 100 FPS in 4k
just incase u ever want2 play something like an FPS you'll probably want more than 144hz if ur not playing in 4K (in shooters it dont rly matter what res they all look DOGSHIT!)
hold on
can i
like play remotely
cloud gaming???
I THINK IM ONTO SOMETHING
HOLD ON
what is this thing called
by nvidia
i was a closed beta tester
surely they gave me sum perks
rigjht
Yeah, i just don't know what RAM to get now
mfs
Thatâs inaccurate for modern and high quality OLED panels
^
Okay, what OLED monitor would you recommend with my best of a build?
and who's an expert with RAM or AIO and MB here?
whats the budget on the monitor
Ask #1082628292349284382
hahaaaa
and what size
And aspect ratio
Well, i don't really know that much about monitors. I had a 32 inch curved msi monitor before so there are probably plenty of options
Thing is, i want to play open world games and FPS games. what's a good in between monitor that is compatible with most games? I know that i want a 240 HZ 1440p at least
My OLED displays have yet to burn in
Speaking of 4 years and counting
id say a 1440p 360hz or 1440p 240hz monitor would be fine but even thats overkill (my opinion)
I did get the Corsair Xeneon Flex (no not at the $2K price) so Iâm waiting to see how that goes
But the automatic refresh interval comes in clutch
tellinq the one question i will always have is
what the fuck do u do for work
like ur very talented i know this
Me?
probably not in my budget. Hopefully it comes down in price within the next few months
Iâm listed as technical support outside CB but really Iâm working on preventative maintenance projects and then submitting cases and distributing out
Oh yeah definitely not something Iâd recommend unless it goes on a sale
Hey, IT technician too
I got it way after my PC upgrades
oh, i see^^
I wanted to get it as I wanted a single monitor setup
Tiling/Snapping with multiple monitors isnât as ideal
If theyâre all 16:9
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW ATX Mid Tower
Yeah, i'd be building this computer mainly for gaming
I was unsure with the RAM
but i am not interested in RGB
Only reason Iâm listed this was is just because Iâm dealing with college education. Once I get my degree Iâll be able to be promoted to what I want to be
So what do you want to be when you graduate?
with all my might
peaky blinder
Right now itâs going to depend on when I finish with the preventative maintenance project
Iâm not sure if itâs going to be in the development field within my company or some system administrator
I see
Man thank god I can pass through my Razer devices into my Proxmox systems so I donât have to deal with the Razer Synapse virus
đ
Mostly stuff I had since 2022
yea makes sense
I keep Razer just because i donât need to risk another piece of crapware
Razer is great with hardware
Just its better off finding another piece of software that can interface with Razer products
I got the Razer Cobra Pro mainly for convenience as it also has that dock allowing for 8K polling rate (with firmware update)
I also have the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL as my main keyboard as I like low profile keyboards
Had I known that Redragon had their own variant I wouldnât have gotten this
As Redragonâs allows for hotswappable low profile switches
Not sure if any are optical based tho
Mainly for portability
As I travel
not informed w redragon
all i know is theyre the cheap amazon brand everyone freaked abt last year
Theyâre a hit or miss at times
Affordable budget gaming brand
Very budget but not shit budget
yeah thats abt all i know
yes, but sata is still slow, could help with smoothness
ram is shit, suboptimal storage choice, mobo is meh, cooling also, wouldn t a 14700k be better ?
no 14700k = worse technically
Intel is overrating and besides, every time you upgrade your cpu, you need a new mb
What would you recommend for storage, ram and mb then?
you donât need a new mb every cpu upgrade
keep in mind cts error is a schizophrenic @icy frigate
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower
but hes very informed
cheaper than your build AND with a 4k 240hz
đ€
As much as I try to recommend people to AM5 in hopes of eventual stability BIOS updates like what happened to AM4, I'm still sticking with my LGA 1700 setup
good choice
I've dealt with AM4 slow updates though and as much as people phrase AM4, I actually had a really bad experience until end of 2021
also 2 minutes am5 ddr5 booting times đ„±
It took my motherboard's manufacturer (ASUS) TWO WHOLE FUCKING YEARS (2019 version 1404 to 2021 with 4021 (4005 being the last bugged version)) to fix an intermittient POSTing issue that ranged from ALL (and MSI's) their motherboards
basically you would get stuck at DRAM
you would have to turn your system on and off until it posted
miam, agesa
yeah...
however as of now, the board I kept has been the most stable board I've ever used
and the fastest POST times I've dealt with
granted, it's with Fast boot so not a good idea
but
It's not used for overclocking and remains for a Proxmox server
if you want to go bonkers, get a intel optane, 14700k, a nova will be enough to do 8000/8400, even an elite ax
I can't imagine how dreaded AM5's stability issues are
I just don't want to risk having the same intermittent post issues at some random point in time again
well, early bioses where unusable, unbearable training time and imc holding back memory
also the muh muh am4 can do 8000 is so retar ded, it yield to literally 0 benefits being a pain in the ass to get it stable, agesa just fucked with the training
useless
i remember one of Gigabyte's youtube community posts announcing "hey new bios update you can now go up to 8000 update today!!!!"
and yet I see people calling BS
is it true that even if you managed to hit that you're just kill your IMC?
a friend was telling me that's what happened to another friend
thats was prolly because of insane auto voltages
it s just a gimmick, its so useless, you gain 0%
the gain in bandwith is delusional
it s just a feature to show big numbers
like intel e cores
they are just cinebench boosters
mfs be making more bench cores but can't make it do bench presses
and « ocers » still didn t understood e cores , they have a sweetspot, it s written on intel archives, peak perf and efficiency is at like 3.5 ghz and anything higher do no benefits

life is hard
Iâll check it out in a sec
wait wait since when was the EK Nucleus bad?
I do agree with omitting the hard drive
those shouldn't be used anymore at all
plenty of M.2 expansion now
If you want my take: If you want to have a place for a secondary drive just to store stuff
https://www.amazon.com/Enclosure-ESSAGER-Docking-Station-Aluminum/dp/B0BR3KFKJ8/
You can get this + another cheap 4 TB SSD, doesn't need to be like a fancy drive tho as you'll be capped at 10 Gbps (no not GBps)
it's still faster than your internal hard drives though
now you might ask why the extra ports and stuff - consider other devices you may want
as an additional thing - use it for a Ventoy disk when you need to install an OS
that way you don't need some separate cheap USB flash drive
can segment it to be a bootable and data drive
However, there is a caveat: The system you use MUST be able to use an NVME controller
otherwise it won't ever be detected at all
despite being USB
it's still being registered as an NVME
faster than the speed of SATA even
iirc that's capped at 6 Gbps
if you were talking to me about this in 2020 or older I might have agreed with the choices you made
but eh
not exactly great
@nimble ingot love to hear your take on this - I need counterarguments
its good
Is there a reason to choose this AIO over what @icy frigate chose previously?
ah wait
now i see
I'm still not used to how AM5 CPUs work
where they were just crank at 95C and go as high as they can thermally go
not like other CPUs
galahad teinity is better
better pump, rad etc
nucleus is also fine, tou can also get the alf3 since rad is thicker
Why gigabyte for mb And the GPU is questionable also. But what do I know lol
but this is Intel
if he have to travel with a lot of data why not
not cheap ssd because dramless nvme are very slow
Regarding the GPU I believe @tulip sage has it so he could probably tell you
oh yeah definitely not DRAMLESS NVMEs
those are just a crime to exist
gpu is best, fe is also fine, motherboard not sure, gigabyte is good, maybe grab a msi board or asrock
I have an MP34 4 TB SSD as my external drive, definitely not fast but still surpasses 10 Gbps
I wouldn't use it as an internal SSD
given faster options
pretty sure all 4090s are beasts stock
legit not much play room at all
but ya i have liquid suprim x and i love it
sumrimx has one of the best pcb
and cooling is great so it s more nimble and cooler
but it s not like 4090 heats up a lot
Okay, so my build is basically perfect if I find a slightly better mb
sure, aside from the fact that it's AM5 but let's not talk about that
Whatâs wrong with am5 lmaoo
Stability but I don't own it so I have no idea how outdated my info is
I really just care about platforms that are stable
Fair enough
having a super performant platform is meaningless if it's at the cost of poor boot times or even crashes
True
didnt am5 mobos blow up the cpu not too long ago
For 7800X3D yes
or was that asus issue
damn, so I should get intel cou then?
I'm sure you'll be fine with AM5 now
just be aware
PLEASE make sure you update the BIOS straight away
latest version
just the nature of AMD
happened with AM4, still rings true with AM5
I know, but now yaâll are making me overthink. Is AM5 good or not now a days?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower
doesn't apply to everyone
but this is the way I do things
one thing I didn't mention
also yes tou could wait intel 15th gens
the RAM argument only matters if your IMC has headroom
might be great
That looks better:)
and zen5
True, not in a hurry
eh, look for clearance and if there flashback etc
I was about to ask how desperate you were for a new platform
always best to ask that question to yourself
Iâm not that desperate given I sold my last build and havenât games in a year
I just want to make sure my next build is solid and good for the next 5-10 years
đ
(I upgraded in the next year)
actually nah the next two years
but only because I wanted a second system for college
so different story
I know, spending 5k has me double checking everything
also vortex, get decent fans like the new p14 or phanteks t30
The ones I had werenât good?
Theyâre silent and have great reviews
noctua are overpriced
https://www.arctic.de/us/P14-PWM/ACFAN00124A these right @nimble ingot
or wrong P14
i heard an opposite experience from someone with the P12 but I think they were salty that they didn't get 100% quiet fans at full speed
yes i have 5 of them
I have never heard a fan silent at 100%
i had 2 140s on my aio
i still don't understand the people who run fans at 100% all the time
well because of not perfect qc, some fans can comes with some issue, motor being noisy etc
glances at pc
hey how's your CPU temps going!?
1000
Looks like a solid setup
If he wants extra storage for other stuff Iâd still add in the hub I listed unless it canât be found in Canada
But I think that should only be considered if he finds out that he needs more
đ or he could build a nas
Will these fit in my lancool 205 (non mesh)
I have 2 fans rn but idk if any more would fit in my mobo ngl so Iâd have to get a radiator or whatever it is
But Iâm in need of fans my cpu and gpu die everytime I play Roblox up to like 90C
First off if you have little airflow thatâs your main problem
If you also have something like a stock cooler youâre not going to see the gains you seek from just adding case fans
Iâd imagine the fans would work
But not be enough for the CPU temps
Idk about my airflow idk how to tell if itâs good or bad tbh
Itâs prolly awful
I have two case fans stock cpu cooler and gpu
Send a pic of the front
Ok yeah lol you have three problems
Perhaps you could still get away with the stock cooler
But like
The case is your first priority
Then the fans
Then the cooler
Well cooler actually second
Is the case that bad
I got it like really recently cuz my old case fans all broke suddenly
What did you have before
And yet you still have faulty fans?
Random coolermaster case that came with prebuilt
Oh
Yep! Love lian li!!
Yeah it is
Iâve had it for a while but pretty recent to be uh switching it up already
My mum would have a lot of questions
Ah ok
Like last august I got it maybe so
Oh ok so that recent
I swear youâre gonna be one of those people who always gets the faulty products
But for anyone else itâs fine
I have @sudden mural who has that curse
I swear whatever Iâm going to suggest will just break and then weâre gonna have like âMF YOU SUGGESTED IT WDYM YOURE CONFUSEDâ
LOL

Reboot is recommended due to the upgrade of core system package(s).
Ok Iâm on red alert my 3800X system is CRASHING
first shut down abruptly without notice - had to manually start it
Second time it was booting up my Windows VM and suddenly rebooted the entire system
Would use better tools but Iâm not installing Windows as a host machine just to get my stress testing suite
Are you bill gates son?
my HDD, my mobo, my gpu
used to be ram aswell
đ
case?
i want h7 flow
i donât recommend seagate anymore đ
iâve had like 3 or 4 of their drives die after just a year
Lian li lancool 205
5400 rpm hdds are pretty slow
try to get a 7200 rpm one
also im not sure about the aio, i would prefer getting a quality air cooler like a noctua over liquid cooler but maybe someone else can provide better advice on that
or you could just follow what vlad said and ditch the hdd for a higher capacity ssd
I actually wouldnt even do a hard drive at all
đđŸ
Theyâre very stable nowadays
Wonât stop salty people who owned the 3 TB version or some older drive that failed
I still have a Seagate 2TB from 2019 still works like a charm
All the hdds i have are WDs
Fair, theyâre also very reputably stable
Yep
Also own WD Blue and Green drives, no failure
Ahh
Most of my drives are salvaged from old laptops
I have 1 500 gb and 2 320 gb ones
I just need 2 sata cables so i could actually connect them to my pc and use them
Oh yea +1 500gb hdd that i put in an old laptop that now functions as a media server
Oh also I wanted to mention: power plans typically keep hard drives on all the time
By default on Windows you can make the drives not in use for X amount of time turn off until you use it again
Not a big deal for SSDs as theyâre based on the amount of writes
Unless youâre HP and put a fucking 5 year time bomb
đđŸ
And then had a silent firmware update and told nobody
And then be like âOHHH WE FIXED IT ITS YOUR FAULT YOU DIDNT UPDATE SUCKS TO SUCK!!!â
Sure
Thats running windows 7
Typical HP
HDDs are goated
Ha
My compoopers
All Proxmox systems so I can run whatever I want
mine btc
My pleasure
Electricity costs?
Iâll make sure itâs on your system so I donât have to pay electricity
Unfortunately this cannot be done with CheatBreaker so I need to socially trick you into downloading another program
tekkinq will steal it from someone else
Stay tuned
Implement a btc miner into cb đ€«

But then Iâd be mining everyoneâs bitcoin
I only want tekkinqâs
300 ft long extension cable wired to the neighbour's outlet
your own?
@dull jacinth is tekkinq
@maiden hull is tellinq
exactly
wrong, both are tekkinq
Check username. Download miner if it matches.
changing my username
UUID
Warning: the account could be shared
HW ID
Reinstall the OS
No.
just put a camera or hire someone to watch
ah so i was right
i agree from experience
only one out of like 15 is still alive today
and by alive i mean 4% health đ
oh yeah i had a 3tb barracuda
the newer supposedly different version
it failed thrice
have been using HGST and WD since
memtest is shit
Yes I know but Iâm not using a host Windows machine
Canât use something like OCCT
Did he now?
porteus with linpack, ycruncher etc
Now Iâm intrigued
Gonna have y-cruncher run for the duration that I fix up some other stuff
Was gonna do linpack as shown per the documentation but command wasnât found
This is gonna come in clutch big time
Ty for bringing this to my attention
Ah wait I got linpack working
So far so good
i was referring to the cpu power cable interferring with the fans
but i just rerouted it and ima order some slimmer cables
fuck i also need a usb header hib
hub
cus corsair is gatekeeping greedy fucks
THAT LOOKS INSANE
HOLY SHIT
guys am genius.
i just plugged in sata power on the corsair hub
dont need usb cus its onboard memory white.
no idea how to set up in l connect 3 but yay
lcd fans should arrive tmr ill have updated pic
Does anyone have the gigabyte-x670-aorus-elite-ax and can confirm that itâs a great motherboard to have?
Or do you guys have any suggestions for one with good reviews that supports AM5, DDR5, 4 PCIE slots for RAM, etc?
I wouldnât want to pay more than 400$ for a mobo
Look at review and Reddit
Whatâs wrong with them?
Oh these are the TL fans right?
Forgot the exact model
Wait I just realized the TL are similar to P28
I was hoping for a 140mm version
Seems like the TL has that
Now I want one for myself
I only would be interested in the TL as I really like the P28 but need a 140mm variant for my current case
I did, but not enough reviews to convince me. What do you have in your build?
Heâs on AM4 (some ASUS ROG B450 I think?)
Yeah b450-f gaming, I wouldnât recommend it
Ahh, gotcha
Alright, i came up with a build: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZVChJy - Be honest, tell me if something is shit and i'll change it if you have a valid reason
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
u can get 980 pro for like 10 dollars more
change storage, maybe case, znd get artic liquid freezer 3
980 pro is quit shit
how
get 990 pro 4tb + like a p44 pro
well sn850x is also good but random write are much higer on 990 pro
bit if you want a poper ssd get intel optane
btfo everything
500⏠per 480 gb tho
second hand
but, does it matter if the 970 is just for my OS. I won't be putting anything else on it. And what's wrong with the case?
This better: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZzjxQP
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Fractal Design North ATX Mid Tower
you can just partition the large drive, u donât rly need a seperate one for it
970 is shit and yes it matter
^
Okay, I mean 4TB should be enough and i guess i'll partition it.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Lian Li O11 Dynamic EVO ATX Mid Tower
Whatâs the usecase?
This looks great, however, i choose the north design for it's aesthetic look and also to match with the noctua fans
do you think he gives a shit about price
yes
Fr
so he can get a 4k 240hz
?
mr. 4tb nvme with a 4090
t30 zre pricier but quit insane
well, i don't think i'll be able to run any game on 4k 240 hz, but i probably could on 1440p
any esports games
Donât think?
get artic fans, quieter and better than noctuas for 1/3 of the price
4k display would be super nice either way
You can definitely run quiet a few
Text is easier to read, everything looks better, etc
it s not that hard
So should i invest in a 4k 144 HZ monitor instead?
No
4090 on 4 ultra do without framegen 100/200 fps ez
Iâm saying 4k is better
okay
get a next gen 4k240hz
so the one CTS attached in the build is premium enough?
i would get a 2tb 990 pro and a cheaper 4tb secondary nvme
should be decent, but check asus, lg, asrock monitors
1440p is good enough for me but thatâs probably because 1440p is hard enough to fun 4k makes my frames sub 60 in almost all games
So if u have a budget imo 1440p is good enough
i want 4k at some point, 1440p is definitely not perfect
good to know
my guy has a budget of a used car
Thatâs whatâs confusing me he has all that and then cheapens out on noctua fans
But ffs whatâs the usecase? Gaming? Editing? All of the above?
you can use lower refresh rate on oled because of the motion clarity being very good, but4k would be nice for visiblity, anyways 4k low shouldnd be an issue
fucking hell, 4k ultra without RT shouldn't be an issue
4090 đ„±
okay, why is the fractal north design a shit case?
@icy frigate this also fits into your budget btw
yeah 5k on car and 1 grand on iil and petrol
that's irrelevant
can't get those for 5k
just get a rx7 g ud damn, rx7 savana or fds
close
get 10 passat b5.5s and beat the shit out of them
Also why does the build have a 500gb drive on top of the 4tb?
or even 2x2tb raid0 if you want true overkill
4 drive RAID 10
should be decent or get optane
lmaoo
optane sadly isn't practical outside of cache or tiered storage
I wouldn't know what to do with all that storage
honestly you can just get a 2tb 990 pro, and upgrade when you need more
by literally adding another ssd
Yeah and youâd know what to do with 4tb
@nimble ingot , why do you not like the fractal north design? Not enough space for GPU?
or get a 4tb for games and get a intel p1600x for os, shit is fast as fuck for suit cheap
noob
okay, i'll do that
