Is there any downsides to enabling XMP or DOCP?

In layman's terms, are there any potential downsides to enabling XMP or DOCP that I should know of in advance? For reference, I have a custom build Ryzen 7 5800X, Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB, and a RTX 3080

it wouldnt be so seen/in front of you in BIOS settings if it wasnt safe

XMP isnt manual overclocking and is meant to be safe
