#StepCenta | Pharmaceutical Chemistry Master Degree - First CV ever

Hi Step, good to see your first-ever CV. Welcome on board. Before the upcoming CV review on stream, I'd like to give the same suggestions that G and the community gave me 👀
First of all, good job on the one-page CV, but it needs to be ATS-optimized. ATS are Automatic Tracking Systems, which are software that recruiters and big companies use nowadays for their hiring
So, the CV should be on one paragraph; you could delete the "Soft skills" paragraph because people would know your soft skills from your experience you mentioned in the CV
You could delete the high school diploma because the MSc degree is definitely a higher education
Regarding the experiences, you could mention the city and the country, especially if you are planning to do an interview for a position abroad. Us italians know where Catania is, but a European doesn't know that
You mentioned that, thanks to your research, you are a co-author of a paper. You could insert the link to it and/or the DOI number: that could be helpful before an interview
And if you have some stats about both the experiences and the volunteering would be awesome
Regarding the languages, if you passed an English certificate exam would be helpful, so you could insert the level of your language (like B1, B2, C1, etc.)
The photo in the CV is not necessary, but it's a personal preference
Regarding the "Contact me" section, if you have a LinkedIn profile, you could add that
Last thing (sorry Step for the long paragraph) you need to add the following phrase at the bottom of the cv "I authorize the processing of personal data in this CV according to D. Lgs. 196/2003 and EU regulation 2016/6 79", which in Italian would be "Autorizzo il trattamento dei miei dati personali presenti nel curriculum vitae ai sensi del D.Lgs. 196/2003, del D.Lgs. 101/2018 e del Regolamento UE 2016/679(GDPR)", because everyone who deals with your CV needs to comply with the GDPR, which is the European Privacy Act

Hey Cloud, thank you for your feedback! I'm still looking around for - quite literally - any kind of job offering in my field. I feel pressured because I know that companies usually hire only until march but at the same time I don't want to rush things so your suggestions are quite what I need right now
One thing at a time: to be ATS optimized you mean that it has to be only into one paragraph visually right? I mean I'm using a Canva precompiled model so I'm not sure that these software can read the number of paragraphs in a Canva document (I hope that I'm expressing myself in a clear way)
Second, am I not supposed to "make it look bigger" (shame on me and shame on you if you read that as a dirty joke eheh) by keeping my high school diploma? I'm really insecure about my lack of experiences 🫠
I'm not planning to apply in Europe for now but I'll follow your suggestion about inserting city and country since this CV will probably be uploaded on LinkedIn.
About being a co-author of a paper, my professor didn't tell me anything about that, my tutor hyped me a lot but there is nothing sure, maybe he will put my name on it if I accept to pursue a PhD which a lot of friends of mine suggested me not to do, not worth it in Italy, so I will probably won't be inserted as a co-author sadly.
About my volunteering stats I might have something but it's too abstract I believe to put on my CV. What should I write? Number of associates while I was president? Number of scientific events that I made?
I'm fluent in English but I don't have a certification, that's true, in fact if I don't get hired in a short time I will get a certification for sure.
Thank you for reminding me about my linkedin profile and the GDPR!
And, because you are an Italian too, sometimes I follow their suggestions both on Instagram, LinkedIn and on YouTube
He is a recruiter but for the US market, if you ever consider it as an option
I've updated my CV! I followed your suggestions and I've watched G's video, you can check it out if you want @arctic parrot
@fervent ridge
And please change it into "Step's CV"
If you are using Canva, I think it's the project's name
There, I tried to fix what I could. Don't worry for the prefix on my number, I just deleted every piece of information in contacts to not be doxed ahaha
I fixed the space between the paragraphs, but I've decided to keep my experience in AISFA Catania because if I remove it then the CV would basically become empty, and I want people to see that I climbed the ladder in the association by being good, first locally than nationally.
I wanted to apply to a couple of jobs on linkedin so I had to send the old version of the CV, but i'll update it as soon as I can
Okay
On LinkedIn, you can save multiple versions of your CV to your profile. When you apply, you can choose which version of the CV you want to send
yeah, i've already applied before you sent me the corrections
plus most of the companies redirected me to their website
Zio pino
And you need to MANUALLY type all the data from the CV AGAIN
Not always, I'm glad that a couple of companies had their website that could automatically grab my data from the cv
Novartis and Menarini
99.9% probability of not being hired
Regarding LinkedIn, you have the same profile in multiple languages. This is the official tutorial from LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a541878/create-or-delete-a-profile-in-another-language?lang=en
Create or delete a profile in another language
And, last but not least, your uni could be helpful for finding a job. You can create a profile in https://www.almalaurea.it/ (a lot of companies in Italy hire junior roles from this portal)
https://www.careerservice.unict.it/ I know uni-offices are not the best, but this career office could be helpful
