Need Help With Club School Project

im an intern, but if you want to learn what its like to be a city planner in the US, i work in the private sector as a community planner and so far, my work mainly consists of urban strategy for local governments, especially for post-disaster redevelopment, but i have also helped private clients get land use amendment changes through city annexation. There are various sectors of urban planning, theres environmental, transportation, land use, etc

if thats something you want to know about it, not sure if that helps answer your statement

urban planning is a very administrative job, you control how a city develops primarily through policy and regulation, quite contrary to the primary objective of cities skylines, which more or so deals with actually designing the city, which is something that more aligns with urban design, which is mostly an occupation that people with backgrounds in architecture and landscape architecture get themselves into, but urban planners can get into it as well

im not sure what its like to be a city planner in colombia, but i can imagine it being a little different from the US

keep in mind, city planning jobs, at least in the US and im sure most parts of the world, are mostly public sector jobs
