#Heavy backup along artery
38 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i would say make more connections between the two zones. but im having a similar problem myself.
I think my problem was turning of vehicle depspawning
It made the game much harder than I thought
This appears to be the bottleneck causing the major backup
Fixing this intersection should remedy the issue
Maybe this would help?
there's so much traffic going to and from those branches
I reckon they need a different way back out
so they don't all converge on the same collector there
Both are correct. I would highly recommend at least one alternative expeditious route, either collector or arterial, from the main roads area to the arterial there in the center. This will relieve the pressure and produce more effective traffic.
Also, make sure you are only prioritizing traffic lights at major intersections along arterials and collectors, everything else should be no controls or just stop signs.
Yeah indeed both ideas are adviced. I think the city also could use an arterial to the east, so that the traffic from the south of the neighbourhood doesn't need to travel through the neighourhood to go to the other city part to the right of the picture. The dark pictured arterial could allow for a quicker and more smooth travel to the other city part. Besides the light blue line is advised like @lunar idol said, because by doing so the neighbourhood is better accessible. I drew some intersection so you can get a better view of possible traffic solutions :).
oh yeah this part wasn't meant to be there
And give the cims an opportunity to walk or bike to work.
And I see you have metro. Make a line from the middle of the residential area to the industry
To both a huge yes :)
Not really.
lol
I only use it for commercial/residential areas.
Biking only applies to those anyways.
Well, they like to walk or bike to work, so a bike/pedestrian path going from residential to industry is usefull.
If you use that from the game, use bike only, they tend to go farther on a bike special path than on a pedestrian path.
Even if the number might not be huge, every car not on the road, helps
Oh true! Thank you Caprea 🙂
Yea certainly; I have pedestrian and bike highways in my city with lots of users :)
loks like your streets comming off that feeder road have their first intersection waaaayyyy too close to that of with the feeder road. Remove the connections
Did all of our suggestions assist you with your city?
