I'm stuck again, and can't figure out this very particular parking issue I'm having...
This bridge comes off the mainland (basically straight off the highway) and onto a small island where my one and only amusement park is located. Lots of visitors, so lots of parking would be needed!
Seemingly, no matter what I do, MOST of the cars that come in to park just drive through the parking lot back out to where they came from JUST SO THEY CAN LOOP BACK AROUND AND TRY TO PARK AGAIN!!! As you can imagine, this just creates an ever-increasingly long queue of cars trying to park, even though the massive parking lot isn't even 25% full!!!
I've tried these things:
-They do it with both parking lot roads and BIG parking lots, though I haven't tried both at the same time
-entry and exit all at the same end
-entry on the far end, exit nearest the bridge
-split the big parking lot into two separate smaller ones
-placed park main gate on a side road coming off the parking lot instead of directly on it
-added parking garages to the side to increase availability
for the record, I have a dedicated bus route (amusement park and is it's only stop besides one on the other side of the bridge) and have also provided metro service at the location of the bus stop across the bridge
From what I can tell, what it seems like they're doing is driving to a very specific spot, which is probably taken by the time they get there, and then instead of i dunno - just finding another spot, they drive out to loop around back by the highway and come back in for another go (almost all of them leaving the parking lot aren't going to another location)
I just want them to PARK already!!!!!!! I'm ripping my hair out, this drove my traffic from 83% to 51% in minutes 🤬
