Well I asked again this afternoon and I got the slightly more helpful response of "idk" from a dev 👍
How kind
I'm assuming I'm experiencing some kind of bug
I was wondering where the most famous SocDem in Canada (if not one of the most famous politicians in Canada) would come up in this run...
Kinda wondered why he wasn't the leader of my party yet (the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, or CCF for short)
Just like IRL though, he's starting to build political cachet from rural Saskatchewan (and yes, he was kind of a Christian socialist)
Sitrep
I'm just blind
There's a focus that removes this
At least I got an answer from someone about this
🗿
(if you're not familiar, the "Arnold" in question is a certain Benedict Arnold, widely scorned in America as the greatest traitor of the revolution)
It's taken about TWO YEARS to get to the 2nd stage of American integration
Interesting names...
The concept of America has finally vapourized!
Now we must try and finish a world conquest
First big encirclement in Russia comes after about 2 years of conflict
The western half
5 Nov 1956
I cycled through every electable coalition (CCF-Liberal, then PC, then Liberal, then SocCred-PC)
Before finally returning to the CCF-Liberal coalition and electing the aforementioned Tommy Douglas
He looks like the guy who would be the accountant of the maffia.
We cleaned up India, Australia, Egypt, Somalia, Myanmar, and Thailand
The Donau-Adriabund is the last major faction we need to deal with, and then I just gotta pick up some cores and claims in Central America
I won't attack yet, I'd like to see how strong they are
Testing them through a nuking run and seeing if they'll just waste troops grinding against me in an org rush or not
Only took till the 11th of August 1959 (23 1/2 years of gameplay) for Italy to do this
Depression-era Canada's got some wacko political figures, that's for sure
Quite a few of the weird ones are included in the rework
Like William "Bible Bill" Aberhart (a kind of authoritarian Christian distributist), J.F.C. Fuller (a mystical fascist general), and Adrien Arcand (scary vanilla fascist man)
Giving Somalia another spin in KX
We're handing things off to Siad Barre again, who's known for being an obnoxious egomaniac
Never have I seen such a weird descriptor for a government minister in HOI4
"Efficient sociopath" 💀
Ukraine again, but as pro-Austrian republican democrats
After a few struggles (I just BARELY missed winning the industrialization minigame, and we did get pushed back a bit by the Russians at the start of the war)
We've made a massive org rush and now we're pushing Radek to his limits
Just set up the biggest encirclement of the day
Ez
Eyyyy
Not long after
About 350k casualties in that pocket
Another big pocket
victoria 2 germany campaign. We were about to be number 1 in everything but it should be noted that taking land in this game is strictly forbidden and will lead to all of your neighbours to simultaneously declare war on you to contain your expansion.
this screenshot is pre armageddon btw
AH has seen better days
What's that blue sliver between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Russia?
Slovakia?
Idk if I had a screenshot but not exaggerating every country in Europe was invading me and plus half my country was rebelling
it’s called krakow based of the city mostly polish
In 1866, Austria granted a degree of autonomy to Galicia after its own defeat in the Austro-Prussian War.[54] Politically freer Kraków became a Polish national symbol and a centre of culture and art, known frequently as the "Polish Athens" (Polskie Ateny). Many leading Polish artists of the period resided in Kraków,[55] among them the seminal painter Jan Matejko,[56] laid to rest at Rakowicki Cemetery, and the founder of modern Polish drama, Stanisław Wyspiański.[57] Fin de siècle Kraków evolved into a modern metropolis; running water and electric streetcars were introduced in 1901, and between 1910 and 1915, Kraków and its surrounding suburban communities were gradually combined into a single administrative unit called Greater Kraków (Wielki Kraków). - Wikipedia
Left out the most important part: *** This Republic of Kraków (1815–1846) included the towns of Chrzanow, Trzebinia and Nowa Gora and 224 villages.***
The wait is ending
The Afghanistan rework for KX has been moving along!
https://www.reddit.com/r/kaiserredux/comments/16bdh7y/the_first_and_most_important_advice_that_i_can/
Probably one of the most memed-about reworks is finally getting done
Mughals would be OP.
Does anybody here play the mod TNO?
Ah no
My city was just at the border of Kraków
Crazy that even Chełmek was included
My mother is from there
So you guys were from Austria Hungary. ❤️
Krakow was a former capital for Poland, do I remember correctly?
It wasn’t always Warsaw…
Yeah, Google helped.
Munkács you mean.
Finally started an Afghan campaign
Thanks to the insane power creep and an opening for a rush to Delhi, we won the war!
Not sure if I want to do the Totalist Eternal Flame Emirate or a more pluralistic path, but we're going with Amanullah nevertheless
big-ghanistan 😳
We've already started the reforms to follow in the steps of Akbar
We backstabbed the Central Asian Islamists and puppeted them after Russia and I sandwiched them
Savinkovite Russia refused the Aral Agreement though, meaning I still have to be on edge
I'd like to split Iran with the Ottomans next, and after that I resume my Indian conquests
RIP
Tried to start the war too late, the Ottomans capped just as I took the focus
Maybe we can take them in as they flee tho... 👀
Can you form the Mughal Empire now? Or is that update not out yet?
Yes, you can do that by allowing Nasrullah Khan to succeed his brother Habibullah after winning the war
I chose not to by implicating Nasrullah in the death of his brother (and Amanullah succeeds as a result)
Nasrullah's path can also unlock the Ottomans-in-exile tree if they lose the Desert War
Which gives you the most cores by far of any Ottoman path
Where can you go with the Mughal?
All of India and Indochina?
And who can you join sides with?
Sorry for the bother but I don't have a working computer currently.
I don't remember exactly, l'll just quickly check the cores and claims at home
As for factions, all the factions have a common foreign policy tree where you can join either the Reichspakt, CPS, Moscow Accord, or Istanbul Pact after doing something to appease them (backstab Turkestan for Russia, distrust Central China and Europeans for Japan, sign defence treaties with Germany, help in the Desert War for the Ottomans)
The only way to enter the Entente is if you lose so badly to India you become a Dominion
I think the Totalist Amanullah can join the 3I as well
Sooooo Arms Against Tyranny (the Scandinavia DLC) has dropped today
Count the Wonders.:D
xD
It fits here perfectly well.;D
For sure
I had a super OP world as America once but I lost the save
I was making like 5k a month with 100 nukes and maxxed military
Oh, by the way, if you work towards a new Mughal Empire, welcome the Ottomans-in-exile but stick with Nasrullah Khan instead of yielding to Osman IV, and then recapture the Ottoman Empire, then you get a special formable, the Mughal-Ottoman Empire
Which sounds just as massive as you'd imagine
It has cores stretching from Bengal to the Balkans
I completely abandoned Hoi4. It just… isn’t fulfilling anymore. After 1900 hours.
Kaiserredux is interesting, unique in a way and thats all it has.
Oh I abandoned vanilla sooooo long ago lmfao
As for the mods, I still have things I'm interested in trying, but it's just a matter of finding any time for it
After 1000 hours, I feel like I've already seen enough of the important stuff
And while it's not like I've tried every single DLC (or else I'd be bankrupt and disowned) or every big mod (or else I'd become some extremist freak), it really doesn't matter
The useless navy is the most obvious example of this, but for the longest time, the military meta just hasn't changed a lot
Just build CAS, some boring old 20 or 40 widths, a couple of tank templates you found from a YouTuber, maybe a few strat bombers to drop some nukes
It's not like HOI4's a solved game like tic-tac-toe, but it's definitely been analyzed enough to feel like that
So yeah, I can understand why the fun has disappeared 😔
Yep, that’s why I came back to Civ6.
And I just remembered that I have almost every DLC for it.:D
And playing it makes my decision firm that if I had to choose, I would choose Civ6 over any other game.:D
what happened in argentina?
THE Kaiserreich of Kaiserreich is being updated in the near future, and the entire focus tree just dropped
It's the largest update in the mod's history (unsurprisingly), and the past few Minor Monday updates and November dev diaries have expanded on the new mechanics and political lore
Among them are a card game for Black Monday, more detailed militarization as the 2WK approaches and begins, yearly Mitteleuropa agendas, and political paths ranging from Social Democrat to Paternal Autocrat
Democratic parties have the subtree in the first image instead of the "Regime of the Red General" subtree
And the second image is the subtree for arch-conservatives instead
Legacy of the Second Weltkrieg brings in a new aspect of the mod, usually after the Weltkrieg there is nothing you can do. The world usually devolves into constant fighting. Now that focus opens the possibility of a Cold War like chapter or a reconstruction era. Absolutely love it.
And I have to do one last German Empire run. XD
Socialist and non-Socialist puppet trees for Germany dropped 10 minutes ago
Anyone knows any good mods for Victoria 2?
Not really...:/
German rework confirmed for 1st December
Socialist Italy rework jumpscare in German rework?????
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kaiserreich/comments/182omla/progress_report_141_odds_and_ends/
Returned to Germany in Kaiserreich (finally), and I decided to try for a SocDem victory
So, so, complex, there were probably 10 different crises I had to deal with before the 2WK, and then I got hit with a -40% defense penalty (among other things) when the war started just because I did terribly in the card game (took me 2 years to finish it)
Delayed the war as much as I could, it's now August 1940 and we're not doing too great
We've mobilized quickly though, defensive penalty is down to -15%
Had to try again
This time I finished off Black Monday in April of 1938! 😄
My debts were also around 150%, meaning I'm also going to be more prepared for the war
I've also started mobilizing much earlier and I've now got 105 divisions (probably 20 more than I had at this point last time)
Next, I just need to deal with the SWR reactionaries, start progressive policies, and start reforming the army
Worried about an earlier 2WK since the French refused to renew the Treaty of Metz
And my allied AI formed the Nordic Federation (first time I've ever seen it in KR I think, took long enough)
LMFAO
Austria-Hungary lowkey just vaporized
We snapped up Austria in the process
Sneaky W?
Although the rest of the Balkans might just join the Russians later and bite me in the back
Took about a year and some nervewracking cavalry micro, but the Patagonian-Chilean duo has toppled the decadent Argentinian reactionaries!
The 2WK is nearly over
It's so joever for the Internationale
RIP 💀
Not only did the Germans win, but the German ethnonationalists won (the closest thing in this timeline to Nazis)
Trying DU Germany yet again
Pretty good Black Monday recovery (done by 13 Feb 1938)
Why do you have Makhno as your general? XD
Makhno's actually been sent to Patagonia by the French Communards to help me lol
XD
Saw this on the KR subreddit
Certified Finnish moment 🫡 🇫🇮
I spent nearly 3 hour playing HOI tonight only to epically fail
It was probably my best run as Yan ever
Slowly died after several counteroffensives to the might of democratic Japan
Fengtian rebelled unsuccessfully, the Germans executed a miraculous counteroffensive only to fall later, the RP managed to manhandle the Balkans, and nearly capitulated the Thai armies
What a pain
I failed again in 3 ½ hours as a democratic Russian Republic for a different reason
Best Germany and Transamur no problem
But Austria, Italy, Ottomans, and a bunch of others teamed up and sat the 2WK out
I want to fight them, but the division limiter is capped at 300 divisions (I recall it could go higher, I'd seen it go past 1100 before iirc)
Can't do much with 300 divisions, allied with neutered Germany and Indonesia fighting against 750 divisions
Gotta do this decade-long run again
I just can't catch a break
I think I've done 10 runs this winter and just taken Ls every single time
Man have I gotten bad at this game
So far I've failed as DU Germany 5 times, Schleicher Germany once (accidentally got to SWR), Shanxi once, Socialist Italy once, Carlist Spain once, Socialist Argentina once (complete dead end), Socialist Finland once, Liberal Russia once, and Communist China in RT56 once
That's THIRTEEN Ls, and I don't think this is because of bad luck
I just love my snakes. xD
Also Russia ganged on a lot of people.
My best country. xD
The dumbest Balkan War took me 2 years to win...
One of the largest pockets I've ever seen (a couple more divisions were vapourized before I could take this screencap)
I think that's all the Polish Army gone in Ukraine...
It happened so fast too
Another DU Germany run
Just watched the new Kaiser get rekt in 4k
im looking forward to IFZ ive played the prologue and it is really good, should be releasing as a beta soon
Last run before class ramps up again: Nasrullah Khan's Afghanistan in Kaiserredux
Snaked to Delhi easily. then split Iran with the Ottomans and are pushing them towards Egypt
The dam just broke in the Holy Land, we've now got a massive 19-division encirclement in Sinai
?????
The strangest part is that the CSA (alliance leader) isn't even led by Capone and his thugs
Do you just always play Austria
Lol
I might have a bit more time on Saturday
I'd like to finish one run, either a decently fortified DU Germany save in Kaiserreich, or that Mughal save in Kaiserredux
Its my go to nation.:D If it’s good, then I will try others. XD
Did a Japan run again this week after their tree got a refresh
It took until Valentine's Day 1946 to declare "victory against imperialism" but I'd say it was pretty easy
Unfortunately the Russians declared on me and now I'm bogged down in Siberia...
Also my screenshot command isn't working (it leaves the window for some reason)
Hoping to do another run over Easter
And I've got two ideas
-
I'd like to try Democratic Canada in Kaiserredux and successfully integrate all of America again, then finish the Entente WC
-
I want to win as a DU Germany, since I've gotten good enough to hold during the 2WK (now I need to go on the attack)
A pretty long project.
It defines took more real life time then it should have.
But I made it look cool.
Started in 867, as Polania or what is the duchies name.
Played like 50 years. XD
Took me 16 hours or so.
Volhynia is part of the family who could be vassalised.
My mother has a claim on Silesia. And I am basically ready to move my capital from Poznan to Krakow.
Did pretty well. I am proud of myself.
Also, found this original one hiding on my shelf.
Booted up Kaiserreich this evening to get this splendid encirclement as Princely India to finish off the British lapdogs
Nabbed 14 more divisions in two separate encirclements earlier (one in Kashmir, and the other in Quetta)
Got around to playing Canada again in KX to try and get a glitch-free run
We entered the war a year later than the Germans, but it was well worth it since we came very ready
Looks like we sealed the French as well
Oh, we are soooo back 😎
We finally vapourized America as well
I'd like to integrate them and then try and dismantle Germany next
Finally, the first post-war election
We're finally to reorganize America
RIP Albert
Now it's Lizzie's turn
Our monarch has technically been different from the Brits ever since the end of the 2WK (Eddie's still going strong there)
So I guess our monarch is kinda the second-in-command in the Royal Family
A good encirclement of hypercapitalists in the Congo
They've been at war with Obama for over a decade now, so I decided to put them out of their misery
Obama's just been holding out on Zanzibar in the meanwhile
Dropped my first nuke..on Obama
The Atomic Era has truly begun.
Did that just in time for the next election, which will go to the Social Credit Party (with PC support) instead of the CCF + Liberal support
Stats as of January 1959
I should probably have deployed my 150k planes in reserves to top the charts
Well that didn't take long...
2 months and our mega OP tank corps made it to Berlin
So long...
One of our many, many encirclements (they've already taken about 15M casualties, whereas we've taken just about 2.5M)
Within a couple of days of bringing the 72 tanks to Thrace, we broke through and are now mincing the Turkish divisions
Still cooking
The casualties are just for the countries remaining
The real ratio is probably 5M to 20M
This might be the worst ratioing of the AI I've ever done...
I dropped only two nukes on them as well
Ungodly political power gain...
Oh, I stand soooo corrected...
I'm so so sorry Haiti...
that's an 11540 KDR
All because I've dropped close to 50 nukes on them and done basically nothing else to them
Ran it up to 1.4M before they capitulated
That's 17,500 Haitian casualties for every Canadian casualty
Idk, Victoria 3 was a huge letdown.
It (I mean EU5) certainly will have new features but they will probably be like the most basic and generic stuff to have again 20+ DLCs.
Honestly, they made me stop playing games. XD
Only 3 games I enjoy nowadays are Rule the Waves 2, Factorio and CIV6.
Honestly their games deserve to be more expensive because of how much detail and work goes into it, but it’s a bummer when so many important features are locked away in otherwise useless DLC’s that cost like 40 dollars
But yeah idk I have a good feeling about EU5
Hopefully they’ll learn from Vicky 3 and stick to their old formulas while adding new “buy worthy” game mechanics
But people still buy them so idk smart on them IG
Minimal effort maximal profit lol
Idk, we said the same during Imperator, Vic3 and now probably for this too.
Although I hope I am not right.
Yeah yeah, but for how long. XD
The Kaiserreich "sequel" has a release date!
https://www.reddit.com/r/KRGmod/comments/1dkjfgy/kalterkrieg_release_date_announcement
(For those unfamiliar, this mod is basically a Cold War mod set after Kaiserreich, built by some of the Kaiserdevs)
Content is gonna be somewhat limited unfortunately
Might still give Canada a shot though
Or Austria?
Giving the Kaiserreich another spin
Just finished recovering from Black Monday
The reactionary opposition is being handled well
Agrarians, Zentrum, LVP, and minorities have joined us
Now it's time to mobilize over the next two years
Everyone said its a hard focus tree and hard missions, that its the toughest Germany play through.
Honestly, doesnt look bad to me. XD
It's a high-risk, high-reward path
You enter the 2WK in the weakest position of any path, but exit in the strongest position
True true.
Certainly one of the craziest things I've seen

Epic win.
Giving Norton's PSA a go
We've been rapidly moving across the country using only infantry
And we just got a nice encirclement of Longists in the Upper Midwest
The secret weapon? We won wars against Mexico and Cuba before we went in, and cored them both
So the problem that's usually the PSA's biggest weakness has been eliminated
Knocked out the Longists, and the infantry drive is still going smoothly
Good pocket on the racists
The Feds are now trapped
We finally did it, in about 4 years
Reconstruction must begin promptly...
Nice superevent
We have reawakened almost immediately to take New England for ourselves
Who are these magical 0.5% of players?
YTbers who make achievement runs. xD
Built the East African Federation under Siad Barre (the efficient sociopath)
A rare circumstance: managed to join the Co-Prosperity Sphere as the Pacific States of America in Kaiserreich
(I'll exit when I can join the Entente though, when they win the war and the Tories finally cease their wartime emergency)
Got the even rarer scenario of the Ottomans joining us, although it's much too late
Didn't join any wars, so I can duck out easily
Hopefully I can join the Entente still...
Teehee
We did it
Great Qing? More like Greatest Qing 😎
(I did botch this run, since I did not prepare for free elections by 1940, and thus the NCERA just called off future elections 😢)
Decided to play it to the end anyways
RIP Russia 🪦
Trimmed ourselves down to the right size
Glad KR allows you to renounce the Treaty of Aigun to get some Outer Manchurian claims at least
Ending with these borders
Not half bad
Japan, Korea, Siberia, and Central Asia are puppets
Nearly reached the division limit, a good size navy and airforce for 1949 (the planes are probably made of paper though)
Well-oiled economy with pretty high infrastructure development and strong rural support in the largest country in the world
ok I'm not a huge fan of Puyi, but this new portrait that was released about a month ago is absolutely fire 🔥
the reflections on the glasses are especially pleasing
OH MY GOD
I had to reload the save about 25 times for this to pass
It's meant to be a 10% chance (of course the aristocrats wouldn't voluntarily give up power)
Turned out to be less than half the probability for me
Thank god it happened though
Ended the 2WK in 3 years, and 2 years after I started the 3WK
My homie Chen finally reunited China after a decade of struggle 🥹 🫡
Fengtian revolted against Japan, the war took about 4 years, and Chen got insanely strong in the meantime
5 PP A DAY as Deutschland 💪
Finished the world conquest in 1955, but there's so much I still have to do in my focus tree
Equality of sexes?
(Jk):D
But I think its more fun to liberalize Germany too.
It is more historically accurate I believe.
It's harder pre-war because there's a lot of established forces you have to overcome
But you can build lots of momentum during the war and the endgame is a lot easier because of the reforms
Yep.
We did it!
This is the maximum amount of PP gain I can get as DU Germany
Finally ending the run in mid-1961
We've researched everything, and finally finished the focus trees
Doing a run as Zhili-exile Sichuan to see the revamped focus effects and determine a strat for a harder run
Kaiserreich also finally implemented its own achievement system
An abnormal Federalist China...
Ever since Hunan got a revamp, I've wanted to try this pretty difficult challenge
Starting as Hunan, I was able to claim the Federalist mantle in Guangzhou and conquer the rest of China from there
The war of resistance took about 7 years, but we grew quite powerful then
Final showdown against the Qing wasn't too bad
Finally worked out after a couple of tries
Never seen a Mitteleuropean election this close so late
A massive 3 vs 15 tie
Russian rework in Kaiserreich is now well and truly on the horizon; a dev stream was held yesterday that showcased the new content!
It also includes new content for Central Asia
Victoria 3 is free to try!
And now, the most interesting ones I think, the after and befores (my mistake, I choose the wrong order xD):
I went till 1894.
It was fine.
But its far from a playable and understandable game I think.
Some features are meh, or dont work without the dlc, the warfare system is still really really bad, etc, the game visually bugs cities and capitals, Vienna becomes Brussels with the Danish flag.
I say 3 more years. XD
And couple hundred bucks.
Russia/Central Asia rework for Kaiserreich should be out before the end of the year!
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kaiserreich/comments/1hag70i/progress_report_145_russia_part_12/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Kaiserreich/comments/1hag749/progress_report_145_russia_central_asia_part_22/
It's now released!
Oh yeah, I used the anime mod quite often.:D
Also, 2 questions, does anyone else have the problem that EU4 doesn’t start for them?
And what do you guys think of Project Caesar so far?
have you tried TNO perchance?
Kaiserreich had its usual Christmas update, and this one was focused on South China (Liangguang & Yunnan) along with Nepal & tweaks to Fengtian & Canada, among others
There are two things I'm quite happy with (both of which now make Liangguang one of the best starting nations in the game)
Firstly, the Right Kuomintang in South China have been fleshed out in much the same way as the Left Kuomintang of East China, which immediately makes them one of the best unifiers due to the sheer detail in how the paths have been developed
So if you like the L-KMT, the R-KMT is now basically just as good
