I don't have time to watch/read everything, but I'm getting the growing impression that the whole story revolves around a company/institution that finally managed to create an AGI ('S0'), didn't like the result, and tried to fine-tune it to get S1/2/3/4... Without much success. Note that in real life, it has been demonstrated that it is entirely possible to hide a ‘trigger’ within an AI model that will alter its behavior, a trigger that can easily go unnoticed and persist even after multiple rounds of fine-tuning.
