#Where's The Player From?

Something I often wonder is where is the player from? How'd they come into existence? So here's a little idea:

So, we know that the player and zombies are very similar looking. And zombies can be cured with a weakness potion and golden apple. The illagers are also hostile to the player, so maybe there's something here? The player also seems to be immune to the zombie disease, even being fine after spending a long time in the Nether (the idea of the zombie disease being from the Nether is from one of Retro's deepdives) so maybe there's something there as well? Here's an idea:

What if the illagers were making experiments on zombies, as they seem to be quite knowledgeable. So perhaps they cured a zombie (the player) and somehow used magic to make them immune to the zombie disease. Then eventually the player escaped and got far away, but needed resources, leading to when you first load up a world.

Which video did RGN say that?

And if that's the case why are piglins and hoglins unaffected?

# soft radish Which video did RGN say that? And if that's the case why are piglins and hoglin...

They are affected in the overworld. He states that the disease is dormant in the Nether but thrives in the cooler environment of the overworld. Piglins and Hoglins zombify in the overworld.

The zombie disease part is going loosely after Retro's take on it

There is evidence everywhere that there used to be a humanoid species that roamed the Minecraft world. But now, there are only zombies and skeletons. What happened? How did such a prolific species die off? Join me for a Deep Dive to find out!

I mean, I'm not arguing that the Bedrock version is working properly (it is called "Bugrock" for a reason), I'm just saying that since neither one has been changed, it's entirely possible that there's no significance to the feature at all beyond gameplay.

I have a different thought that might be interesting here;
The player is the last "ancient builder", with one special bonus.

The player is able to make at least 1 golem not made anywhere else(snow)[I don't know copper lore], knows how to make and use an enchanting table, and has a strange interaction with time.
I love the lore notions RGN suggests in the Ancient Rituals and Slime vids; Soul energy & Lunar magic.
"The ancient city 'portal' is an attempt to make an enchantery" style topic which is immediately trumped by the player making an enchanting table and some bookcases.
Lunar magical energy creates slimes and can be used to make potions etc.

So what if they're the same magic. The moon has some kind of power over souls(interesting that Sculk, which steals souls, prefers to not spawn in direct sky view). Is it possible that near the end of the builder's time, one managed something with the soul magic from the ancient city and tied their life to the moon. Any time they die, they(and ONLY they), respawn.

You set your spawn point by sleeping in a bed because you're wrapping yourself in wool(to dampen vibration and act as a magical oven) and soaking in lunar soul energy.

# soft radish -Why _would_ anyone make a snow golem? -What are you referring to by "strange ...
  • because they can

  • when you sleep, mechanically, time doesn't progress. You literally skip night. Mobs barely move, fuel isn't consumed in furnaces. Progress on furnace jobs isn't done; it's simply now day. I know it's flimsy.

  • as in location of world spawn? Not sure. But if you needed one thing to trigger initially spawning, that could be illagers in the ancient city.
Respawn anchors are maybe artificial moons? They explode in the overworld because they're trying to compete with the real thing?

Hm... My best bet is that there were multiple players who somehow survived and formed tribes post-Wither, which then evolved into us, the Modern-Day Players

Like, it would be impossible if at least no one survived the Wither, right?
