A few years ago I had some of those minecraft books and noticed a general trend of them using "fictional" player characters (excluding the books that aren't necessarily in-universe, such as the Minecraft cookbook). I actually found them again hidden away a couple of days and got really into reading them. I think my favourite of the classics was the Survivor's Book of Secrets, so I'll start by talking about that first. The book describes a group of players known as "The Survivors", who have been around since the "Days of Alpha" (which I'm assuming is referencing the alpha versions of Minecraft). The book does not specifically state that they're still around today, however this is heavily hinted at (I'll continue on about that in a minute), and even that opposing factions exist. This means either two things: there are groups of the Ancient Builders still around today (meaning that not all of them got infected) OR the book was written before the infection, in which tells us that not all of the Ancient Builders were a "team" and some had opposing thoughts and ideas. I find this to be very interesting. I personally think the first theory makes sense, as multiple "plagues" of sorts in the last hasn't wiped out entire species, such as the Black Death in the 1300's.

More "recently" (2019), there was a book released where a character by the name of "The Looter" had "written his life works" in the book. This book is simply titled "Maps". Really creative there, Mojang. In the book are detailed diagrams of every generated structure possible at the time. This book doesn't reference anything about the ancient builders, which does lead me to belive that The Looter is either a villager/illager or a remaining human from the mass extinction event, however this is unlikely due to not having any knowledge of the structure's construction. A villager would be unlikely due to the pillager patrols, so I'd imagine them as an Illager, but this would contradict one of the pages where they describe the woodland mansion to be "filled with hostile mobs", rather than something like "filled with fellow illagers" (or something of that sort). In a similar manner, information on The End page also contractions the option of them being an enderman. This leaves the only option to be that The Looter is an ancient builder, however this doesn't make sense due to prior listed reasons. The Survivors don't mention anythinh about natural structures as its more so about combat, so it's safe to say that they could be (and probably are based on information in the books) some of the only lasting Ancient Builders, that are still (possibly) alive today.

Mojang also has some of their own wacky OC's that appear in the "newer" books, but they DEFINITELY aren't Ancient Builders, (read any of the books that feature them ever to prove this) so I'm gonna completely rule them out.

Well, do you have any other sources than the books? I don't know a lot about this community, but I'd imagine books wouldn't be a valuable source. Like my Dutch (primary language) teacher would always say: "Een bron is geen bron." meaning "One source isn't a source.*

So if multiple statements in multiple books mention that your theory is/might be true
Then yeah it's kind of valid

I would just find it a bit more believable if it's stated in the books and in one of the games

Rotai means Rise of the arch illager, and it's the only book that's officially confirmed to be canon. Some other books might be canon, but we shouldn't speculate.

Not sure. The bot doesn't block every word with the main word in it, (crevasse, assassin, etc) because lots of them aren't swears; it only blocks the ones we tell it to. I think we just forgot to program it into the bot.
