It is more emblematic of old Minecraft horror- just something lurking in the fog. My best guess is that there is... something, inhabiting the "camera guy"'s world. As it begins to ramp up its efforts to scare and possibly harm the "camera guy", the events of the video scale in creepiness. It then ends in the guy deleting the world.

Hi! I made this video. No, it’s not an ARG. It does have a ton of underlying meaning, and I worked pretty hard on a script. But it’s not an arg- there’s no cyphers or codes or anything like that. It’s a story that requires a lot of interpretation. Or you can just enjoy it for it’s surface and the nostalgia. Either way, glad you liked it!
It’s sort of about confronting nostalgia rather than being nostalgic itself, I should say.

No, that’s not the point. It’s meant to be a thriller/horror with a lot of building suspense. If you didn’t watch the whole thing, I can see why you’d reach that conclusion.

I am working on a video that’s a bit more in your face and wild instead of subtle but hopefully still as horrifying, but it’s a massive undertaking that’ll likely cost me lots of time and money lol
It’s another Minecraft horror short film. I wanted to reinvent the genre and now I want to do it again

Cause I agree. It's been stuck in the creepypasta phase. While it's possible to still make a good creepypasta, people still draw from commonly used tropes heavily.
The "MC ARG" scene is similar. However I do occasionally find hidden gems.

Pretty much that. The dweller stuff is all the same and the args are all the same. They’re predicated on an unchanging underlying premise.
The dweller stuff is like uncanny valley creepy pasta stuff. All lanky humanoids with black eyes or whatever. The ARGs are all about someone else being present in the world or the feeling of being not alone.
I tried to do something different with mine and i feel like it was mostly a successful experimentation
But I want to do something entirely different for my next one.

While I do not look into creepypastas as much, I do look at mc webseries/ARGs often. I do agree that if you look at #1026498054083321866 , the majority of the videos are samey. However, we've found some ones that did experiment and ended up being popular(I could share some if you like). The converse is true where tropy series got really popular and experimental stuff has been forgotten. It's all a game of luck in the end. I wish you best of luck on your upcoming project, and maybe I'll finish this video 😂

Little bit of an update: I just finished it. Cool video! Unfortnately, the tension really didn't get a hold of me. Maybe because I'm not young anymore, and/or my brain is burnt out from anything Minecraft Horror related. I'm just tired 😂 . Looking at the comments, it looked like it worked with a lot of others.
I like how you never see the thing that is bothering you, but you can still feel it, especially when you could hear it near the end. The character you played felt like they didn't make any purely stupid decisions (maybe except going into the cave without the torches), so it felt quite human. Overall, this is solid!
Also I just joined your discord, and woah, I barely see any familiar members from here. I'm assuming this is a true golden mc community?
