During the downtime, what i did to download songs is i used This service
However, it can only do 100 songs at a time. So i made a basic tutorial on how to split your playlist into 100 song chunks. Some basic interpretation is required to follow this tutorial, and it is for the website and the desktop app ONLY!!! no mobile users, sorry...

@valid edge
This works on windows, linux, and mac.
there will be ONLY 100 (or less, depends on the playlist size) songs per zip file so make sure to extract them to a DEDICATED folder for music, so in my case i wouldve made a folder in my /home/ramen/Music/spotdl directory
if you're on windows navigate to C:\Users\YOURNAME\Music\ and make a folder called something like "Local Playlist" and extract the .zip files to that folder
Now, i do not own a Mac so i do not know how their file management works, however i found this tutorial for MacOS users
On mac and linux if you REALLY wish to use the terminal to make your directories i got commands for you
[user@machine Music]$ mkdir 'Playlist Name'```
On windows (using powershell) the setup is quite similar!
PS C:\Users\User\Music> mkdir 'Playlist Name'```
Here is how to unzip on windows as well.
If you need further help just ping me!
@valid edge
what a goat
thanks
but after i downoad trakcs, all of them have the site url as their name
no they don't? just the zip file has the name, at least from my experience
the metadata should have the regular song name
wait l eme try, thanks
open properties, check the song name
the thing is, when i put it in my ipod it still shows the spotidownloader thing
really..?
yup, sadly
did you download this song standalone?
yes, you should use spotfetch, works perfectly but sadly takes them from yt
tho it has no limit and can be downloaded from github
there are may tutorials
but did you download the song standalone?
if so, that's your problem.
i downloaded a whole playlist in the tutorial and used the "download all" option
hmm ill try that
@valid edge after spliting my playlist of 450 songs to 4 playlists of 100 and one of 50, i noticed that the .zip that came out had less thatn 100
some had 54 others 37
my playlists are exactly 100 songs
want me to send you one and you try to download it and open it?
amnd tell me how many songs it has
take this one as an example
tell me when you do
@valid edge :P
are you able to do it now or should i go to sleep
i can undnerstand if u cant i just wana make sure
haha np, you're already doing me a favor in all of this so dw, please ping me when you download the playlist i sent you
downloaded fine
well, 5 didnt download
maybe it wasnt able to find them..?
so 95 of them did get downloaded?
yes
wierd, ill have to try again
@valid edge lowk got a corrupted file when downloading
tends to happen, maybe redownload?
this is pretty great but it doesnt have all the metadata which i would like (like genre, lyrics, disc) but the default quality of download seems to be 320kbps so a great alternative till things get fixed
and the date metadata all seems to be 1970 so if anyone is curious you would want to fix that too
What do you mean that it doesn't support mobile? It clearly does.
