Walking into a skate shop and saying these exact words would be infinitely more helpful than doing it here. But any deck you like. Size is preference. Brand is preference as long as it’s from a shop you’re good. Any brand trucks, many say Indy, I’m personally using thunders. Bonez redz bearings, any wheels that sound good for you depending on what you’re doing and then any hardware that fits. Shred on bro

Various brands have different concave and shapes.
It’s a tricky thing because it’s not like you get to test it before buying.

So you’ll 100% go through some different shapes and sizes before you find your match.

This said. Go for a graphic you like. Typically in the range of 8-8.5 width.

One thing to be on the lookout for is where the deck is made.
China = can be good, but risky. Even with reputable brands.
BBS/PSstix = best of the best.

Speed, confidence and to put something to ollie up/over.
Your legs tend to get higher when you register an obstacle you need to cross!

Then it all just comes down to practice, practice, practice. Consistency builds everything.

You might see an ollie that looks absolute top level. But ask the skater and they’ll tell you they need to improve.
So in reality, we never, ever, stop practicing our stuff!

Imo bones reds for me have been kinda terrible recently, I had 2 sets of super reds in a row already really crusty out of the box, but that's probably my bad luck, I've recently changed to Bronsons and they have been great so far, I understand it's about preference tho.

The only reason they got popular is because of the lower price and massive marketing.

I’ve always had bad luck with Reds, supers has been good for me however. But been a while since I got a set now.

My most advanced fliptrick would be the frontside flip.
My personal favourite is probably the fakie bigspin. It’s simple and chill.
My comfort trick is bs boardslides on flat bars.
My hate/love trick is easily the 360 flip.

Idk any good brands i just use my dads but having a good socket wrench with a set of different interchangeable sizes can be very handy, used it on my motorcycle and bicycle for maintenance and it could probably work on skateboards since the nut is the same shape

T tools definetly if its sole purpose is skateboards, you could prolly even disassemble and assemble it with only that (maybe idk)

If you plan to build your own decks then get a T tool with the metal bar on top for scraping the grip tape. It’s quite handy!

Also decided to while down the outside of my bearings.....bones super reds spew so much oil

Almost got Ollies down, unfortunately not before it started continually snowing.

Mostly I’ve been Cruising though, be it on my popsicle, my coffin cruiser or my longboard that I mainly use to go get something to eat on my 30 at work.

I work closing shifts for 9 hours so I don’t really get much time to visit the local skate park in general

Since I work till 10 pm
And the skate park lights turn off at 10pm

Funny enough though

Last time I was at the skate park I sprained my ankle full sending a ramp

Got down the ramp okay but hitting the bottom I leaned too far forward and next thing I know I’m just laying on the ground like “oh……my ankle is puffed up”
