the chocolate ones are super tiny so you'll hit cracks and rocks a lot more

Biggest issue would be the trucks. They're usually the most problematic. Trucks will be trash, wheels will be equally bad, bearings can be good enough but probs not, the board itself will do perfectly fine until you get into flip tricks.

@graceful veldt has a a point. Alot of Walmart style boards aren't actually pressed so the first time you drop off a ledge it's buh byes. Graphics are nice but one of the best things you can do to support your skateboarding community is go buy a blank skateboard from your local skate shop. blank skateboards are usually %100 shop profit and undeniably cheaper than any pro models ntm you can put whatever Graphic you like on it if your dedicated enough

2- Be more confort with your skate before trying to make an ollie
and practice a lot the fundamentals in this order:
Push, Slow Down, Tic Tac, Manual, Ollies and Ramps.
Everyone has their own way of seeing it but i prefer this way.
If you got all above I would try to make a Shuvit first, and when you got it, try to make a Pop Shuvit

Money was a little tight so I came up with a hybrid 8.25 with 55mm soft core wheels. It road like a cruiser and was light enough for tricking but the one thing it caused difficulty with was Smith grinds. The wheels would grip the rail so you'd have to go extra fast locking in, which imo is already sketchy 😂

It’s really up to you and how dedicated you are to learning it I can say go to a shop and see if they have completes or build your own always support your local shop before getting one online and size wise depends what you wanna do I’d say 8-8.25

Just do it in slow motion, record, Ollie, process the video, check your flick, posture, and how high your physically jumping and how high the board is jumping with you.

Also the grip of your board and board size and even your shoes can also make an effect on your pops and board feel, for me I wasn't getting much air back then but I switched to 8.5 and feels sm better and much more comfortable

To do a proper and leveled ollie you gotta flick and let your foot feel the board or else you'd build bad habit of rocket ollies, doing rocket ollies are cause by not pushing your board forward in air which cause it to stay stationary in air, without it you cant do kick flips, hard flips, and even inwards, all requires flick

If you're completely new, then just get comfortable, don't try tricks yet, just get familiar with being on a new platform. Pick a stance (goofy or reg) decide this by whichever feels more natural / comfortable.
Then get good at pushing and stopping, turning etc. Get good enough to do it comfortably, practice your balancing too and good posture / foot positioning.

then get better at turning, learn to tic tac a bit and just keep that up for a while, use some ramps if you have any (just go up and come back down in fakie)
then at the same time practice hippy jumps, half flips, just generally jumping on off the board and take it from there

major props for trying to ollie on your second day though skating is all about commitment just be careful is all and be patient learn the fundamentals first get good at them

Also with this in my opinion and from my experience you're far better off doing 2 maybe 3 "big" / stronger pushes to get going tha 4+
Most of the time you're probably only going to need 1 maybe 2 decent pushes to do what you need to do

smaller rapid pushes make you more unstable

gotcha. if you can find any sort of drop around 1ft or less, id suggest going for that and try riding off. eventually once you can manual off it will be kind of similar to popping if your tail hits the end of it. then from there its just about getting your footing right for an ollie

Real talk I wanna get a gauge on something - I'm looking at boards for the first time and while I don't want to ride a boat, having size 13 shoes I worry about balance and foot placement, so I was just curious if we got other secret Bigfoots and what size board they ride? I think to start I was eyeing an 8 or 8.25

It's manageable and really depends more on your style of skating but I am 100% going to get a 8.25 soon since I'm struggling for balance a bit
