To recycle anything
don't need a car, hes got leg strength, 2 hands, and potentially a trashbag
The closest recycle is an hour drive
maybe bus could get u guys there?
or if u got parents who are free at that time they could get u there
Could someone help me with frontside 180? I try and it just makes me like roll away backwards in the other direction
"Goofie"
I ride goofy too. "Goofie" is just a funny way to spell it
Oh yea haha
It's clearly from /newskaters so it gets a pass
Fosho
It also says "You'r"
But they got the info out in a way that's understandable. English probably just isn't their first language
I just grabbed the first image I could from Google that showed clearly which side is what lol, I proofread nothing XD
I also ride goofy, but not very great at skating switch though lol
LMAO
nah but, it made it make sense!
but i wasnt wrong about it looking frontside to me, cause they were in regular i believe in the video!
so WOOOHOO!
My board got ran over by a car
For the third time
Now it is dead the board cracked tf up the truck is bent n shredded the wheels r practically gone rip
You riding in traffic? That's a lot of times to have a board run over
Damn
Ye I cut thru the city
Usually fine but my mental health has been horrible and is been affecting my skating concentration
I broke my leg once too
stay safe bro
Anyone have tips for inward heels
I can hard flip no problem, I just can’t swing my foot enough for inward heels
Anything helps
I have a weird skate issue—I ride goofy because it feels more natural and gives me better board control. However, my dominant foot is my right foot, so I struggle with pushing (ollies) because of the lack of force I can put into my left leg. I can kickturn and tic tac, but popping is difficult. Should I switch to regular stance and try that, or should I work on improving control in my left leg
That's really up to you. If you put in the work to get comfortable it'll become more comfortable regardless as to what you choose to do.
That said, imo while beginning, your dominant/stronger leg should be the one that's not pushing and on the front because that's the leg you are balancing on and depending on keeping you stable while moving
"I've tried placing my dominant foot in the back, but it just feels uncomfortable, you know? I've been riding my board since I was around 12 with my right foot in the front, so my brain automatically performs better when riding and turning with that foot. It's so weird cause its like my left leg doesnt wanna lift up or my right leg just aint sliding like it should
Think of pushing more like a running motion and swing your arms with it the same way you would if running.
Might be a helpful queue in getting yourself better synced with the motions
anyone have any advice for someone looking to start learning to skate?
maybe brands to be wary of or common mistakes a beginner might make
Walmart and target brands I would stay away from, tend to be bad quality and not good rep in the skate community in general, you could go simple with independent trucks and reds bearings
don't mongo push
uhhh
so i went to my local skatepark today for the first time to practice
nowhere else had flat enough ground to do it on
no one was there and i was able to make good progress
before today i couldnt even push properly
now i can push and comfortably ride the board (for a small distance but it’s a start)
Awesome! That's a huge start. Getting comfortable is the most important thing with your board
If there's a local skate shop near you, I highly recommend you go there. They can help you find exactly what you are looking for and get you on your way to a good board
Zumiez doesn't count
unless its the only place you can go to
Just a warning though, most of the young people they hire don't skate from my experience. They just know basics of building boards and brand names and whatnot.
yup
My heelflips are nasty
Than I also did this fakie heelflip
Wait I posted these in the wrong chat I thought this was irl skate clips not chat 😭
.
If we chat about it, then it's in the right place
just was at the skatepark for 9+ hrs and my whole body hurts
me feet where spazzing out
kind of deserve getting hurt bc i was trying to drop in on non drop ins
yo my heelflip are really good the board spin really fast and isnt rocket at the air but i still cant catch them ij keep landing on the ground any tips for landing it?
@feral vigil RE: your question on 100a wheels.
100a is hard. Every crack, bump, bad part of the road/sidewalk will be felt. Generally harder wheels, but also more slippery (think powersliding for days).
They're fine, but will take a little to get used to.
Though if it's for your first board you might not know the difference until you try out different hardness types
facts
hi i just got my first board and when im balancing to the sides on a carpet the board really flips into that side making the other side wheels not stay on ground is it normal? or is it bcs i have my trucks too lose or smth
What board you got?
It could be the bushings need a little "break in", but I'd loosen the trucks a quarter turn and see how it acts
the birdhouse stage 3b
i tighten my trucks a lot more and its better
btw i had really loose trucks and it made me not focus on riding and tricks but on the balance so i dont fall sideways
it feels so good with tighter trucks but its not that tight that i cant steer i can steer pretty easily but with a lot of balance
Just make sure they aren't cranked too tight (like the hardware is cutting into the bushings) and you should be good
in to the top bushing or bottom?
bcs the top bushing i cant see much bcs of the truck hiding half of it
yeah i was s oscared that i would tighten them up too much that it would estroy my bushing
nad i was carefull not to so i think its ok
btw my legs hurt so bad after doing tricks on flatground on asphalt
either or, but you should be fine. Wouldn't worry to much about it. If it was overtight it would take a bit of force and you'd have a hard time turning. I only mentioned it as something to keep in mind
i mean my feet lol
okay
so its not that easy to overtight
good btw there is such a difference betweena a cruiser and a skateboard omg
I mean, if you have superstrength it might be easy lol. But you'd know because the resistence is harder to turn and the bushings will look like they are getting squished. It's common for new skaters to over tighten until they get used to it and build balance, but from what you described, sounds like the perfect tightness for what you're doing
perfect
bro i swear i was so scared when i had too loose trucks that i bough a bad skateboard lol or i did something wrong lol
but its good now its easy to balance but still can turn so thank you
I actually had to get softer bushings for my first board because my bushings were hard and I couldn't turn without adding a kickturn no matter how loose I got em. So I became a skate geek and bushing nerd to figure it out lol
lol I’ve been struggling to do a heelflip up a small curb
Only one of my foot comes on it’s annoying 😓
Well what I’m going for is heelflip up than wrap around heelflip
Someone give me tips on what I’m doing wrong when I heelflip up the curb
btw why are u throwing the board with your right hand when ur regular? is it a preference or what
or its just how u learned to
What I’m most comfortable with and I also skate switch
I’m not regular lol
nah bro im a beginner im sh** lol
Wait does it not look like I skate switch 😭
When I watched the video I noticed it was switch. Looked fine to me
how can u tell that someone was riding switch?
Where their back foot lands reg riders usually put their front foot up on the board switch is kinda like mongo looking and skater usually don’t like that style
How he got on the board, used the opposite hand than reg because it's the hand he's used to using to hop on the board
Or that
yeah he put his back foot first thats why?
This too. Forgot about this one
How you hold the board and how you land on the board
I don’t really recommend riding switch it’s kinda hard to learn I would say stay riding regular
alright
You have to be really comfortable on the board to ride switch
My heelflips on flat is perfectly fine but up on objects I can’t do
People say treat it like it’s flat but it doesn’t feel like you can treat it like it’s flat 😭
im new to skating and i wanted to ask how can u change feet position faster than just slowly sliding from toe to heel. I mean when im riding and my front foot is covering 2 back bolts and the back foot is on the tip of my tail and now i want to ollie, so how do i can change my front foot from these 2 bolts to back on the middle of my board so i have more space to drag the foot
any technique for that??
You do a little hop without actually hopping if that makes sense. Like a quick de-weighting. That lets you move without shifting the weight too much to the other leg throwing off your balace
so just be light weight on ur feet with the motion of hopping but ur not leaving foots of your deck? does that make sense or did i miss understand it
That's basically it. I mean if you want to exaggerate the movement and actually do a little hop to get a feeling for how much pressure you need to be able to move around, then by all means play around with it
Hey i'm at a skate park and im sacred to drop on from a small piramid its my first time on skatepark
Amy tips? I know how to ride and do a lil ollie that's all lol
If its too early then ok
Ride up it then down first to get used to the feeling before dropping in
im back home, when i was skating i rode up and down and it felt good i was going fast but that wasnt super scary
btw i tried going fakie
and its so weird i was going so slow but i couldnt do anything bcs i was backwards lol
i think ima drop in like in 3 days bcs i want to be more comfortable on my board
tomorrow i can try to kick turn on this high ramp that u can see at the photo or its called quater or msth like this idk lmao
yeah, i can't do fakie. (I also grew up on skateboards that were not the same shape nose and tail, so to ME, there is a FRONT and that goes first. my brain is old and broken.)
When i do fakie at faster speed i lose balance and fall
what size jeans should i buy to make into in jorts if im 5'7 31 waist size
Just buy jorts?
Hmm. I'd say, if you want them comfy (little loose), go with a 33 waist, 30 length.
Use a measuring tape to measure the length you want for EACH LEG. Cut each leg individually. Do NOT stack and cut. (that's like cutting your own bangs. It won't come out good)
alr thanks
how do i know if my trucks are too tight?
You would have a hard time turning
When your board has little to no leeway to wiggle around and your trucks refuse to turn in the direction you lean towards
or even if it does lean (feels like it leans) and still doesn't turn no matter how much weight you try to put on that side
but that could also be a sign of having bushings that are too hard if loosening them doesn't remedy it
Yeah, that’s pretty much it! My trucks are tight, but still loose enough the trucks and the board all noticeably tilt as intended, a decent middle ground till I get comfortable on-board.
the best skating day
i was at a skate park 4 hours and i found 2 new friends that also skate
btw i was so good today
it felt so good that u can have someone to talk with while skating
skating alone is pretty boring but with someone its a different story
but i also fell on my knee and it hurts so bad but i think tomorrow i will be ok
im skating 3 days and the friend that skates for 5 years told me i progress SUPER FAST i mean i skate like 3 days and i already can do kick tuirns from quater and then go up a piramid and drop in from it and then manual a bit idk it feels so nice, i also learned how to mini ollie its not super high but still counts. but im having a problem with shovit bcs i have the motion but i cant land it, or if i do i immidiately fell (i cant type sorry lol)
Thats awesome!!
This isnt the memes channel
My bad bro
I’m learning to kick flip off a hip what’s a good way to setup on it
yo i just started and my board keeps slipping out from under me
What are you doing when that happens? Example: standing, pushing, rolling, etc.
trying to get more powerful pushes
When you're pushing, are you using your back foot or your front foot?
i ride regular and use back
Imagine you are running. Swing your arms in the same way and keep your weight underneath you
yo i wanna buy this pair of airpods for skating cause skating without music kinda boring but im scared they’re js fall while im skating any reviews on airpods while skating?
Which generation of Air Pods? I use Air Pod Pros and have no complaints. They stay in
my review as someone who has airpod pros 2nd gen was.
theyre super good for cruising or landing tricks yk, but if u fall, then they go SWOOP out ur ear
Kinda like….
YUP
Airpod 3rd Generation are weird.
They have a button on the charge stems instead of tapping the earpod to change tracks/pause/play. And they're bigger, so they don't feel as secure in the ear. PLUS - wireless charging case is extra. Other than that, the sound is amazing. The charge time is great and the battery usage is awesome. (Had them active and playing music, handling phone calls for an hour and they only went down 6%)
It took a bit to get used to mine, but they fit now and sound great
Haven’t skated in 7 years surprised to find I can still nollie fairly well
yall
whats a shuv it and a heelflip combined
i just landed it idk whats it called
i tried googling it]
you also tried @ everyone and that's why you got a timeout. don't do that.
varial heel
Bro the rain is actively trying to ruin my Sesh rn
theres gonna be some skateboarding events tommorow for the olympics :D
or inward heel if it was bs shuv
Is there a spot to post fails? Or injuries? I don’t skate anymore cause of an accident I did few years back
just bought my first deck. Any tips on learning how to ride as a big guy? I'm 6'1 270lbs. I've been dying to try and find a form of exercise that I'll actually enjoy, and I think that skating may be it.
What type of board? What size? Cruiser, street, longboard?
I don't know if it's still considered anti-skate culture (which I find bizarre; isn't skate culture kinda just about doing your own thing? But I digress...) but when I got back into skating after 20+ years away, I couldn't really get comfortable again until I got some protective gear. The helmet is a minimum since I'd like to avoid getting any more concussions. Sometimes I'll go with the pads and especially the wrist guards depending on what I'm trying or the surfaces I'm skating, but I felt better and more confident, which is kind of key.
But also, learn how to properly fall, because you need to accept that you will fall. Everyone does. There are right and very wrong ways to do it! 🙂 YouTube has some great exercises you can do to help with that.
But also this 😄
What size are you riding ? my biggest advice would be centre of gravity, focus on rolling around and finding the right balance, and look up Andy andersons stretching routine. you're legs are going to hate you after the first couple of days.
Also this.
I got back into skating in my mid twenties and broke both of my hands/wrists within a week of each other. Wear protective gear. that shit's cool.
Oh, totally. Andy Anderson has some great content out there. And he wears a helmet!
this ReVive deck in 8.5
yeah, I'm definitely gonna wear a helmet. I've seen too many Hall of Meat vids of people rearranging their brains to risk not wearing one lol
thank you guys so much for the responses btw
How do I get back into skating I haven't in a while and I feel so bad at skating
Yoo, fellow shopper at OCD Skateshop
I bought some Adidas skate shoes from them for practically nothing
me when i found it im gay
Love them
Yo?
When I Ollie 2 things happen: 1 my front leg extends downwards causing it not to level out for a long time (I have a pretty nice pop) and second my feet land weirdly like this (below)
What can I do???
buy a scooter
nah kidding theres plenty of yt vids out there that really help
i can dm u some if u want
I just watched the skate iq newest Ollie vid, I’ve been skating for about a year and a half now but have noticed some bad habits in my Ollie’s after clearing my first 5 stair
That’s all yk just trying to fix it up
landing like this isnt a bad thing, just when you go to slide your foot, opt to slide UPwards and not forward
like not direct upwards, but like conciously try and bring the front foot higher to the chest
Hi, looking to buy my first skateboard. Read a lot of recommendations but still I’m confused. I want some cheap skateboard for street and I’m a grown ass dude, around 85kg weight if it matters. Do you guys have any recommendations?
https://www.skatewarehouse.co.uk/products/enuff-pyro-ii-complete-skateboard-blue-7-75
something like that would be ok?
The Pyro comes equipped with Enuff’s aluminium Pro Spec Trucks. Trucks are a big deal, they’re a major weight contributor, effect the stability of ride and how the entire skateboard feels, this serious upgrade makes the Pyro a great mid to advanced level board at a very competitive price.
You might find a 7.75" wide deck a little small for your first go. 8.25 or 8.5 might be a little more friendly, unless you're super keen to get into flip tricks. 🙂
Where you want to skate and how you want to skate can affect what you'll want for wheels and stuff, too.
Thank you for the answer! I’ll keep the size in mind
About the wheels, I got a lot of uneven concrete around my house. Around What size and durometer would you recommend?
would these be good to skate in? I skate rn in kyle walker sign. vans or campus 2000s
I think so, DC shoes are pretty comfy
alright thanks dawg first pair of DCs
hey i have a question. What site is the best to buy deck?
any local shop is the best of the best normally depending on where u live
i live in a small town where there are no shops like that
i meant like websites
which are best and all cuz im new into those things
ive heard good things ab nhs skate direct but idrk if theyre any good
the skating reddit has a lot of info ab stuff like that if u have an acc
thanks bro ur best
That's what it's like around here, too. Winters are brutal on concrete and asphalt. I skate these on my favourite board: https://bones.com/skateboard-wheels/rough-riders 80a durometer and 59mm. They let me roll over most stuff without too much trouble.
I have a second board with harder Spitfire wheels for when I'm at a park, but for the everyday stuff, it's always the larger, softer wheels for me.
Thanks for help! Just ordered my first board and can’t wait to start practicing
when do i know that my razor tail made the board lose pop?
bcs i got like 2-3 layers on tail
bcs of learning how to manual
im 6,1 feet and what size of the skateboard would be good? is 7.75 good or it should be more?
8.25 (because tall people have big feet)
thanks thanks
today i bought my first board
i have some average sized feet and i think an 8 is slightly too small
however in my case i'm goated with the sauce so i'll make do
(i'm 6' for reference)
do you think 8.125 would be better?
yeah
if you have a fairly average or larger foot
i'd say go for the 8.25
ideally find a local shop and ask to check
this is me on an 8
idk man i have 43 eu size of shoe and i dont know if i should go for 8.125 or 8.25
okay okay i understand you now
yeah i'm a 42 eu
i mean, i have heard that CORE skateboards are quite good, havent tried them myself
again, havent tried their boards, but ive heard they have some good decks
I want to start skating but I dont know what size board to get. im a 9 1/2 in mens shoes if that helps what size to get
I am the same shoe size. I ride 8s.
8.5 for Big Boys
11/11.5 shoe size for me
start with an 8.25, trust.
thank you so much
Hi bro. An update, got my first skateboard a couple days ago and I’m now learning ollies in motion, sometimes I can even land a few small ollies in a row. Also been working on cruising and was at the pump track for the first time today 💪
That's sweet! There's no pump track here, but I really want to try one. Both on my regular board and my surfskate.
It was really fun, I bet it would be even more fun for someone who can get better speed and control on it
is thee a big difference between 99-100 a and 103a?
bcs i have 100 a wheels and i roll on asphalt or sidewalk good
but i wanted to upgrade to 103 a bcs i mostly skate on park but im scared that i couldnt go cruise bcs of the vibrations
been thinking abt skating for a bit now, what size board should i get? shoe size is a 9.5/10, as well as some tricks for new skaters?
i would just get an 8.25, it’s a good size to start with for sure, to start out i would just ride around my local parking lot for a while, then maybe go for your first ollie once you’re comfortable
alright, any tips for getting comfy on the board?
i know to bend my knees
well, if you already know your stance (goofy or regular), then i would just push around, it’s really just the basics of skateboarding
at first you might have to do small pushes, but if you keep practicing it will become 2nd nature to push well
also, when starting out, wear your helmet 🙏🙏
also, i think i would do good at both stances, usually i dont have a preference with feet positioning
rip i dont have one
that’s all good but i would get one, cooler to look uncool than to hit ur head bad
real
whatever’s comfortable to you, push with your back foot though, it’s easier and you are mote balanced
yeah i definitely dont wanna push mongo
I still push mongo lol, did it since I was a little kid. Stopped skating for years and now everything feels weird and uncomfortable except for mongo
Just saw this, looks pretty cool
Years of grinding, tweaking, and late nights in the lab all come down to this moment.
This isn’t just any board – it’s built with recycled ocean plastic, turning trash into a board that feels like wood, just better.

thats interesting
Hey, im starting to skateboard and i am curently learning pop shuvit, while im moving. I can't land it, because it always goes away the way im going. Any help? Thanks
Anyone have recommendations for some affordable loose fitting jeans? I currently only have a pair of Levi 550s but the pockets arent as loose as I'd like them to be
Ollied over a small stick today, for the first time over anything
That's a win!
Hey yall! I’m a beginner skater just picked it up a few weeks ago if there’s any tips or tricks that you know, it would be very
Nice! What kind of board/set-up did you get? Start off spending time just cruising around pushing and get a good feel for the board and balance. And then after that spend more time just doing that. Being comfy on the board will help you so much for everything
I know it’s a tiny hawk signature series board, but I think the wheels are water locked and I’m not to sure what is a good brand to get for both trucks and wheels, I’ve got my balance down and I’m more comfortable on my board then when I first started
You can check if you can still fix the bearings
nice
Oh actually?
wish i could
ever tried it over a Hip?
usually 360 tricks are easier doing them over the hip
Im a beginner too. But what helped me the most was getting confortable on the board both in regular and switch. Learning cruising, tictacs and basically anything like that in both switch and regular helps so much to keep the balance when you later start doing some trick
Funny thing is that when I was already quite comfortable in my stance (goofy) and tried cruising in switch for the first time it was so difficult and I fell from the board a couple times lol
yea riding switch if not practiced enough is just a pain in the cheeks. im riding 14 years now and started recently learning to push switch. looks like ive just begun skating XD
is there any other method for hardlip than spin it under my balls
why u scared?
i think its the most common way
i want to have kids in the future
So sick
That’s sick
Yuuuuuuuuuup
Thanks y'all, would drop a reaction, but apparently I can't. 🙏
Fixed.
So when are we all allowed to come over to skate this?
Yeah when can I come over and faceplant on the drop in?
i hate how a lot of skaters out there are really mean and rude to beginners/people just in general. i know not every skater is like that, and that there are mainly more nice skaters out there, but ive personally ran into more a-hole skaters than chill ones.
Legit why I dropped skating as a potential hobby way back when, Then on the flipside when I started cruising with a longboard during the summer people wouldn't shut up about wanting me to do tricks on it like... no thanks?
ive been called a poser for not being able to do any tricks. ive played skate games for years but started actually skating about 2 years ago now. i dont really understand the mentality of some skaters calling out beginners for not being good, even tho they are NEW at it.
I just don't get why some people get so heated with beginners instead of just keeping to themselves or offering to help... Skating is supposed to be fun and everyone has to start somewhere... :/
Some people are extremely narrow minded and put their interest, or rather their idea of what they believe their interest should be, into a tiny box. Anything outside of that idealized box threatens what they like which in turn threatens them.
It speaks more about who they are as a person and not actually anything about you.
You wanna skate? Skate. You wanna just cruise? Cruise. There's room for everyone at the table. Anyone that disagrees can get credit-carded on their next trick attempt.
thats very well said man
Hi
I'm so bad at skating pls help
Ive been looking up a lot of videos and SkateIQ has some really good (imo) explanations of things!
Im gonna go skating every weekend and other times but I'm britishish so our skateparks are qhit mid
there arent any parks in my area at all. i only street skate. my roads are awful as well so that doesnt help lol
imo really the only way to get better at skating is to just get out there all the time as much as u can
practicing over and over again
100%
Facts
I don’t skate irl but that is very true. When I was like 10 I used to have to drive for ages to go to a skate park with my scooter even then there were no skateboarders anyway
Do y'all know how to stop this pain in my knee when riding I'm currently omw home but keep stopping because my n eyes randomly hurt
remove leg
If you’re newer to skating your body just has to get used to it tbh
You’ll get random pains for a while
When I get pain I switch and push mongo with my other leg for a bit. Might be worth it to train switch a bit for moments like these
Can't really give advice. How your hurt it or why it's hurting changes what you should be doing
i’m not good with speed lol
i can do fakie fs bigspins but mainly tick tack out of them and they barely pop
want to get fs 360 shuvits and fs bigspins without being fakie but the board j flies away from me unfortunately
they look like this
Sheesh!
Sure! What do you need help with? Some general tips are to just go out and skate as much as possible! Go and practice the fundamentals daily if possible! And don't forget to have fun!
Hey guys probably been asked a million times before, but played skating games for years, never done the real thing recently started having a friend teach me, we don’t get to hang out heaps, just curious what are same things I could do to help with both leg/core strength when it comes to general balance 😂😂😂
Squats, jumping squats, lunges, standing on one leg for time, getting a blank deck and some wide PVC pipe to balance the deck on top of, standing on a wobble board
And of course the number one way, skating more
still no respawn point
What music yall listen too while skating
Skegss, and ofcourse still the soundtrack from skate 1,2,3
And also some stuff that i found in the community playlists

Ahh I listen to a band called seether o
Who can lend $40 bucks my trucks got ran over 😭
I’m kidding btw I just wanted to let everyone know how sad I am
Looks like a bar I'd hang out in
new deck n some other stuff, this grip gonna go crazy 😂
Yooo that's gonna be sick
new setup goes hard 🗣️
Small but solid win, I can now finally roll off curbs and not feel like I'm going to die
Also got a little comfortable with rolling backwards so I'll take it!
Actually really big steps nice 😇
Beware of the skatepark board thieves 🤣
Look, there's only one good way to explain it; if I hit shuffle on my skating playlist it would probably hit
- from Paint It Black(The Rolling Stones) to Evil Friends(Portugal. The Man)
- from 96 Quite Bitter Beings(CKY) to Let Mom Sleep(Jet Grind Radio) but beats 2 and 4 are swapped
- from Teknopathetic(SiIvaGunner: KfAD) to Check Yes, Mr. Brightside(TCMusic!)
- and probably most jarring of all, from Gunfight(Mighty Underdogs feat. MF DOOM(remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man's name.)) to Camel by Camel(Sandy Marton(Metal Cover by Little V))
My point is... uh... yeah.
Tha's cleaannn~
We have the same playlist I think lol
W
I custom made mine, and its unlisted, so maybe ill dm you it or smth and we can compare, lololol
Edit: Further notes
- 750-4(Demonics) to Right There, Ride On(Sonic Rush)
- Back 2 Back(Sonic Rush) to I'm Still Standing(Elton John)
- and Even Flow(Pearl Jam) to Cheap Cheap's RAP(Bad Instrumental without honks(Parappa The Rapper))(Side note this one's actually really good like unironically despite the absurdity-)
750-4 is a banger, I forgot it existed for a second, thank you
awesome taste my man

Anyone got recs on good paint to repaint a deck?
any tips for pop shuvs?
Practice makes perfect.. lift your legs up and try to pop off the middle of your tail place your front foot parallel just behind the front bolts
Squat low if you want to get a higher pop and use your front foot to level out. @cerulean night
Once you get comfortable on flat try off of a curb and work your way up. You’ll probably start with just a shuv-it then start working on your pop shuv. I spent 3 months in my driveway trying to get a decent shuv and I am still working on my pop shuvs
Depends if you want an airbrush or can.. probably just a paint and primer for wood furniture would work if you’re just looking to protect the wood
guys how can i get the ollie, i can never land it :(
(the second one is cut out)
U might be placing ur foot too far out on the tail?
Maybe ur kicking it back out of reflexes, try putting ur front foot more near to the bolts for more control and when u get comfy w em start puttint it more to the center to make em higher
Nvm i saw it in slomo and i think ur flicking up, not up and out
Try flicking to the front, it will go rocket otherwise
Lean your weight more over your front foot and pop slightly backwards
What am i doing wrong im trying too get the tail too go higher
i think your main problem is that you are popping on carpet
maybe try to ollie on a harder ground
ur right foot is to far up. First try digging ur left toes into the board and immediately scraping your food in a horizontal direction. Move your body with it not just your feet and you’ll be suprised and fast you’ll get it
jump like how you would in real life pretty much and just pop and you’ll figure the rest out along the way
like really try to build up some power before doing it so that you can put ur power into popping the board
Its the carpet
you’re not jumping
Yo is there anyone from Poland here?
hey, can someone tell me, if this is good skateboard?

What's the size
8
How tall are you?
If you're 1m60 you might wanna take a 7.5
I think an 8 would be too soon
Like brandwise ?
yes
Ccs sells pretty good boards and there's a wide variety
Plus you can customize your own board
Check out their website
yo i struggle with keeping the balance when i try to push, does anyone have some tips other than just keep on practicing?
Keep your weight centered over your front foot, swing your arms like you are running as you push with your back foot.
Practice standing on just your front foot while moving.
Aight thanks🔥
There’s something great in the transformation of a deck the more you skate it. Whether you draw, paint, stencil your own graphic, or let your skating create its own graphic, the CCS Logo deck only gets better with time. Dimensions: 7" Width x 27.75" Length - Wheelbase: 12" 7.25" Width x 29" Length - Wheel Base 12" 7.5"
is this good?
Not the wheels and the bearing
The wheels looks like its slippery and the bearing is not very much quality product
The bearing will get rust and will lock
Im saying it by my own experience
But for first skate its good
When you get more experience and If your bearing gets 'bad' I recomend you get a Jart 7 bearing
It has much difference
You can customize the bearings and wheels
Do not get ceramic bearings
They really aren't worth it
I recomend the Jart 7 bearing
Its soo sweet
Shoud i get It?
49.95€
i have a question, if i have skateboard on size 8, i have chance to do trick or no?
I don't see why not. 8" deck is a pretty good middle size to use for most kinds of skating
jaaa
h
Any tips for a newcomer
Im startin out but im deadass having trouble getting my back foot on my board after i push
nice
You might find it useful to put your board on grass for a few minutes and just mimic pushing with your back foot, then putting your feet where you want them. Once you feel you know where the board is, take it to the street. Good luck! (I still do this sometimes when I've been bad about practicing switch, just to get my brain to comply.)
Thank you i will try this
Dumb question, you figured what stance u are yet? And u pushing regular or mongo?
Im a regular, push regular
Most comfortable foot positioning and stance for me
I ride a size 7.5 board i think
Idk what the true size is but when my friend tried it he said it was something in the 7 range
u can measure it if needed
It was a long time sense stod on my board. Im old and bad knees but i always had a 6.5 if i remember correct and my friends was on me that i should have a 7.5 but felt wrong.
When i started as a kid i got used to mongo push had to train that away much easier to get lined upp right before a grind
@sharp zealot i can also recommend just to stand on grass and the just stand on it a bit downhill so u dont have to put upp foot so u get some balance training
@lone dawn its always possible but if ur not 190 cm had shoe size 10 i would recommend that u use a smaller. But i allways skated on a 7 and my mates went upp to 8 when we got older but i stayed in 7
6.5 is crazy small! I actually looked it up because I don't remember seeing standard decks smaller than 7 and 6.5 is considered a micro board.
Many years ago I started on around a 7.5 and still like that size but today an 8/8.25 is just so comfy and more stable it's my fav especially if I'm riding transition
@rustic bough i measured it and it was a 7. It was over 10 years when i stod on it. My mates where on me that i should go upp to an 8 but was to used with it.
I only skated street with some banks rails
That makes more sense. My first "real" board was over 10 years ago too. I remember not really know about sizing and told the shop I wanted a specific Zoo York deck graphic and the one they gave me was 7.5 and that's what I stuck with until more recently when a friend gave me a spare board they had
It was over 25 years i bought my first. Im 40 so my knees dont let me skate any more
Ny fusrs was a Powell soap angel deck
First*
31 here and trying my best to keep the knees alive for the future. It's a struggle
I have have a few permanent problems from skating. Some could have been avoided if i took care of the injuries
Ok so the main thing you wanna get done right (which I didn’t and has cause heaps of trouble) is technique, like when you push make sure your shoulders are aligned with the board, this will make your Ollie’s way easier when you get a chance also bend your knees big tip with that is bend them excessively like it almost feels like too much cause most of the time it’s not
Keep me and others posted and good luck 👊
Just did a semi decent Ollie epic
Just bought a santa Cruz complete wth is this
A bearing that may or may not roll like you want it too. That test is not always indicative of how it actually rolls in use. Could be the lubricant is a little thicker and needs to be used to be broken in
Maybe
Hence the "not always"
Need a board for rainy days but im so broke
Do you have any local shops that have used donated decks?? Some by me have them
For rainy days just buy a cheap board, replace the wheels with some old ones, and get some spitfire cheap shots
I wish our local board shop did do this would be so nice
yeah I’ll probably ask around at the park and Frankenstein something together:)
Drilled learning rock to fakies and rock and rolls today and it felt pretty good 💪
Anyone have any advice for keeping them clean/not slinging my front foot out too far on the board?
Heck yea keep it up!
Hey I’m looking for a brand with durable long pants, keep getting holes easily in the ones I’ve got now
Anyone know some good places to start
Dickies is a well loved staple
Wrangler too
Loosen the nut or try putting a washer or a spacer in there
Carharts are nice if you can get a goodwill or thrift store price
Wild how things work out y'all.
Fell and ate it a little trying to keep learning rock to fakies and rock and rolls, lower right side and my back kept hurting a bit straight after up until late yesterday. Doc said to get it checked at the hospital, go in last night and all is fine with it, just a bit of bumps and bruises, nothing major.
BUT because I went in, they thankfully caught that I have diabetes and now I'm on some meds and new appointments being set for that.
Unreal to think that skating probably just saved my life and it's all because I fell....
With that said, anyone have any advice that's diabetic and skates on how not to wreck myself with my new found skater stat?
take care of yourself, buddy.
I appreciate it! Definitely a lot that I'll be learning along the way but from what I understand we caught it at a good time so hopefully it's not too bad
Back in 2017, I was diagnosed with diverticulitis (intestinal issues) and had to get my life right (change of diet, increase my exercise, etc) and honestly, it was a blessing in disguise. Ended up losing 72lbs, feeling better, and actually got myself into a sub-25 minute 5K.
It takes discipline, but you got this and we’re rooting for you.
Yo man I just got diagnosed with the same thing. Any tips for meals? I’m already tired of grilled chicken and white rice
Go easy on spice, no seeds, no nuts, and more fiber, tons of water.
Thanks dude. It’s stupid confusing to me what is okay during a flare up and what isn’t.
Definitely don’t go for fiber during a flare-up. It can exacerbate it. So no spinach, broccoli, beans, etc.
I’ve got mine under control now, so I eat spicy food all the time - just no seeds on anything.
It takes a while to get the hang of the new lifestyle. Also, try to - if you can - walk 1-2 miles a day. Walking helps move things around and through you, y’know?
I was super bummed out today and I walked in a whataburger at midnight and the cashier told me it if I could kickflip on the spot he would give me the employee discount and I actually landed one of the cleanest kickflips of my life (with some offensive toe drag but whatever). Made my night fr especially since I’m broke as crap
first time i skate boarded my arm broke
dang bro
From the skateboarding or did it just do that?
Any suggestions for longboard trucks?
That depends on the type of longboard
I personally prefer Gullwing Sidewinder II drop-through double-king trucks.
I’ve never typed in here but I wanna say I landed my first nollie couple days ago, I’m tryna get it higher
Congrats!
Thanks!, I figured I should open up my trick book, getting tired of not having enough tricks for a game of skate
Nollie shuv and flip much easier than actual nollie
If anyones considering skating the es stylus mid muckmouth shoe dont. 15 kickflips in and the front of the shoe is almost gone and they wont refund me
Let's gooo 🔥
Vans half cab the way brother
damn bro, that's unfortunate to hear! I haven't skated much mid height shoes yet so can't give recommendations. Have you found better ones yet?
Congrats bro! How's the progress going?
Skatin ASICs rn and they're really nice, barely any damage after the first sesh and feel great once you break em in
Which Asics?
EX89s
Those are sick
Why do my new bearings take 10 times longer to break in instead of ones I had button a couple of days after them
Any tips on how to do stop doing a varial flip when trying to kickflip?
ur literly kicking it back with ur back foot gang pop straight down
Ait dude, thanks
How much do skateboards cost nowadays? My old one finally rusted out on me this year
which country are you in? @quiet nexus
US
Usuaully like $70-110
for a pre built one
If you've got a skateshop in your area it never hurts to stop by and ask too
Got any company recs?
I am a big fan of welcome skateboards but they have a very unique skateboard shape. You can never go wrong with brands like Antihero,Flip, Zero, Deathwish ect
Bet, I’ll give them a look. Thank you!
no worries man 🙂
I'm starting to skateboard in real life and I'm unsure about finding reliable, good quality skateboards, but I don't know anything about where to find them and stuff like that, could anyone give me any tips?
Look up if you have a local skate shop and go there. If it isn't Zumiez, a normal town skate shop should be able to help you out. I say except Zumiez because they hire anyone whether they know skateboards or not.
If you want to look at some online, I'd check out Globe, Powell Peralta, and Girl skateboards. You can get a solid complete at all of their sites for around $100 USD.
I found a skateboard online that looks good, can I send it to you privately so you can see it?
Yeah go for it. I'll check it out
After years of asking for a board i finally got one 🥲
Ooh and a nice one at that! Congrats!
I love Arbor
Tyyy
Fr
How do I figure out what stance I am?
Which foot goes forward when you stand on the board? If it’s your left foot your regular and right foot your goofy
^
I dont know what leg I balance on best-
Is it about balance or just how you wanna do it
got a little too big for my boots and tried doing a 360 degree kickturn while riding around in the rough car park behind my flats
i didn’t get hurt badly but my palms sting like hell
I mean generally you have a feel for it
Like one foot feels better than the other
My friend just bought a inpeddo complete, is there anyone who has used a inpeddo before and if you have is it a good board?
Thank you @stiff raptor and team for the epic prize!!
Really appreciated regarding the shipping as well, I know it wasn't cheap to send it across the big pond so thanks =)
no worries! glad it arrived safely!
Ohh
Can someone please help me with kick flips. I’ve been trying and trying and yes i have board feel i’ve been skating for a few years. I can 180, ollie, pop shuv ect. My kick flips either i flip good and my back foot lands but my front foot doesn’t come back or the other thing that happens is my front foot lands under the board upside down and my back foot is on top. I can swear i’m not flicking down but idk.
Hey there! Are some skaters from Berlin on this server who would want to skate in spring together in real life in spring?
@stiff raptor many thanks for the giveaway lol
i would send a pic but my sister has nabbed the clothes for herself lol
(ngl they suit her more than me, oh well ! )
Just bought my first helmet to start skating! I’m excited, I’m going to a local skate shop later to see boards
i still remember my first helmet
it had a baby yoda sticker on it lol
just picked this up
imma miss this board
it’s rotting cuz i got power steering fluid all over it while i was driving cuz the bottle popped open
in my experience popping a little higher can help with the kick flips
i’ve also noticed it’s easier to varial but that could be me
For someone who used to ride p frequently but never got into tricks, does anyone have advice
Get comfortable riding again then learn to Ollie
Hello!! I’ve decided to get back into skating after 3 years of being unable to due to a heart condition. Does anyone have any tips for me? I didn’t get very far into tricks and stuff back then, i only knew how to ollie! But now that i’m better, i’d like to learn more tricks! I’m basically starting from 0, please help HAHA
Bring up your back foot higher and try flicking into the pocket and when you flick you want to kick out like a karate kick that’s the best advice I can give you besides just do it every day and every time you skate until it starts making sense that’s all I did and I got it
I know it’s been a while but the bolt on that wheel looks a bit tight
Scam?
hi guys! im a beginner to skate and im looking for a friend who can help me to improve
what kind of board do you have? are you looking to improve street skating, focus on park skating?
Yo there’s some 35mm “brand new” anti hero wheels for $10aud on marketplace. Is this a good cop?
35mm seems kinda small, maybe they’re 53mm ? But either way brand new wheels, if they’re legit Anti Hero, are definitely worth $10
Most board companies have their own wheels that come with completes and they’re usually solid wheels, in my experience anyway
Does anyone know how to clean griptape without grip gum?
There's a cheaper version of grip gum you can get at a hardware store made for cleaning belt sanders. Other than that I don't really know of an alternative
I've used a wire brush and it worked out, softened the grip a bit tho
Oh sorry
@strong citrus
Okay
@strong citrus
I wanna get back into skating but it’s been forever can someone please tell me what size board ima need now that I’m a size 15 shoe?
Does anyone know any good websites for making and buying a custom skateboard?
Boardpusher.com is pretty good, CCS (shop.ccs.com) makes customs, and customskateboards.com also does custom.
Keep enjoying your ollies! Balance cant be overstated, so always work on landing flat and manuals. One of my recommendations trick wise is the shuv or pop shuv. It helps you imagine where you want your board to be. Stay squared and make sure you bend your knees and keep the back foot parallel and not to far back otherwise you can scoop more and lose that pop
I'm building my first board this wednesday🔥
I’m not sure if this is the correct place to ask so apologies in advance if it’s not. I want to get a beginner board so I can try skating to see if I like it. I found this one online and was wondering if this seemed ok? I’m not too knowledgeable on the parts yet this board is just in my desired price range and I liked how it looked.
Can't give an answer yes or no just from this. While a blank deck can be fine, where that blank deck is coming from can make a huge difference. All the parts descriptions there describe generic parts and don't really say anything about if it's gonna be good or not.
Like this could be just fine for a beginner complete, or it could be a "Walmart" board that will end up not rolling well, breaking easy, and making you hate the whole process of trying to learn.
Need more information. Like where are you buying it from and how much is it?
im pissed
currently i have like 6 inches of snow and a high of 4 degrees
i gotta go to tha indoor park
Oh sorry about that. It’s a Yocaher Board and it’s $65 on the Yocaher website. It’s also on eBay for $50
I'd def stay away from that brand. I've heard a lot of bad things about them. It's more of a toy than a real setup and could get you hurt.
For just a little more you'll be able to find a good branded complete for around $80 and that should upgrade the quality dramatically from the one you're looking at.
Mini logo tends to have some nice completes, but well known skate brands tend to have some good sales you can catch for around that, sometimes even lower
Okay sweet thanks for the advice. I definitely don’t mind spending a bit more for a better board. I just found a website called skatewarehouse and they seem to have some nice ones on there for around $85-$110
That's a good site!
Some random scooter kid in the skate park started yelling, I think he had like 3-5 years, he got in a bump and screamed for almost a minute lol
somebody tell me what i should try in my garage im soooo bored
So I have always wanted to actually learn how to skate IRL but never really had anyone to go to for questions, but what advice would yall give ?
Bend your knees a little and try to stay relaxed
I will say I played hockey for like 14 years so I have p good balance and all that. I have issues with getting the pop enough to be able to get off the ground
If I could swear rn I would lol that just opened my eyes so much
I am starting to get into skate, and motocross filming and want to get a fisheye lens for my canon r50 does anyone have recommendations
hey
i need help getting my first skateboard
i live in pakistan and we dont have that much skater people here but i want to get started
a person online in my city has listed a skateboard and i wanted to know if i should get it as it meets my budget
Lookin like a suuuuupwr budget board like 20$ board tbh. Look like plastic trucks how Walmart has. I wouldn’t invest unless it’s under 20$. Prob abec .5’s lol
Yo what’s up gang I have been skating for like 5 years on and off just recently getting pretty into it
Just wondering is there any good ways to improve other than just spamming stuff
I’m specifically trying to learn of to Ollie while going fast and also healflip stationary(idk if it’s a healflip or kick flip but yeah) my problem with the healflip is that I can’t get it to spin fast enough and my problem with the fast Ollie is that I’m a pussy I’m so so so scared
I cant help with learning the tricks, but a kickflip is when you're flicking your foot outwards towards your back, heelflip is the opposite
Hell yeah that looks awesome. Free board is a free board
I have never skated before, I have won the m-corp deck, how do I skateboard?
I feel like winning the deck is a sign
it is ❕
i can keep my balance and easily move on my board but im hesitant to even try to ollie and drop in
idk where to start with it
Just learned pop shovs 🙏
@stiff raptor another scam
imma start learning to skate tmrw, wish me luck
Hello (im totally beginner, last time skated over 20 years ago). I bought my first skate shoes for my new skateboard and I choose Vans Skate Half Cab (blanc de blanc). Ive never waer those kind of shoes only airforces, airmax nike etc. So i dont know how to feel those kind of skate shoes like Vans. My feet is 27,5 CM and I picked shoes size 10 US - 28 CM. This shoes are kinda like perfect fit, I can with little force put my finger between heel and heelshoe. But overall they r kinda narrow for my feet but it fits like kinda (kiiiinda) perfect. My question is should I return those and take a little bit bigger 28,5 CM or leave those 28 CM 10 US 43 EU and after time they r gonna stretch a little and be perfect? I dont want to take bigger shoes and later realize that they r too big for skateboarding. Can someone give some advice to newbie like me? Are they gonna stretch after a while? Thanks in advance
i know this isnt really the answer your looking for but if ur used to shoes like airforces then you could also try skating in like SB dunks
i know its a bit expensive but it would be worth trying out
at the same time id also give them a bit of time if they are new skate shoes, they usually take some time to break in
an example was when I was going from skating vans to converse, it felt like i was skating in clown shoes at first but after a week they just felt natural and I didn't even really notice them
thanks for response. maybe ur totaly right that sb dunks would be better for me, but i just made a long decision which one take it and it went for half cabs. i waS JUST WONDERING how max they will stretch after some 1 week walkingg for example. and how they would strectch after while skateboarding
i think im gonna buy another pair EU 44 28.5 CM and then decide which one i will take it, to leave 43 EU or take 44, maybe it s the best option to just test both sizes at once, THEY R only 0.5 cm difference but still maybe it will b e better to take 44. and they compare both sizes at once
stretch wise i honestly i have no idea
ive never really thought about that while skating
my feet just naturally get used to the shoe ig
yea probabbly im overthinking this shoe thing, but those will be my first skate shoes and i dont what to expect kinda. maybe if its only 0.5cm difference between 43 and 44 size that it would not be matter that much and i just gonna take which one feel mentally better lol ? idk, i think im gonna order in few hours 44 size and just wair few days to compare 2 sizes, im overthinker l ol
Don't over think it. If you think it might be too tight, there's a chance it is tight and a size up will be better.
I personally go a half size up in vans than the size chart says to because it's way more comfortable and doesn't feel like it's squeezing my toes. (Size chart says I should be a US 7, but a 7.5 fits the best)
[I'm very picky with shoe fit]
hi guys
I just learned how to Ollie decently and idk what to learn now, I can drop in and revert fine I'm just a bit stumped on tricks
would anyone have some advice?
Honestly I usually even keep my skate shoes as casual walk shoes for like a year until I start skating in them, but that's also so I don't thrash them so quickly
anyone have a homie skateboard?
they have pretty nice designs and a good size in one i like so im just wondering if i should get it
skate iq is your friend
F/S 180
thanks, I'll practice!
I just bought the P-rod Primitive and the DGK board but been skating my element for a few weeks now
Im a Chocolate kinda guy myself those primitive boards are nice. I just hang those on the wall though. They feel weird to me. I dunno tho.
i was thinking about hanging the DGK ngl
Tell me I am not the only one which has a board that every single piece is a different brand
I have a Baker board + Independent trucks + Powell dragon wheels + Reds bearings + Anti hero sticker
Opinions on this for a first board?
https://www.ocdskateshop.com.au/products/deca-murphys-cactus-thumbs-up-8-25-complete-skateboard
I’m gonna be street skating and those are 95a wheels if that matters
yeah ive only landed one laser but it was up something rather flat
Maybe you judt used up your last board so it wore down and made it eadier for you to do tricks
true lasers are somewhat fairly new(i learned about back in secetember i believe)
Some random lawyer guy in my apartment stopped me from skating and making a tantrum over me practicing tricks in grass and skating the concrete, the worst part is that the people in here actually told me I shouldn't skate in my apartment, there were literally NO no-skating signs
does anyone here skates in hungary?
hell yeah
anybody knows some practices that you can do after a broken ankle so its easier to get back into skating?
try flexing your ankle more before skating so it doesnt hurt that much when you get on the board
also try to slowly build up
dont start doing tricks just start by riding, doing tic tacs, kickturns
simple stuff
I just ordered my first skateboard in years!
@ripe blade get flex bands and do exercises like you're flicking your toes for kickflips. Heel raises, with weights or kettlebell if you can, but band conditioning is huge. Tore my ACL 4 years back at 36 and learned a lot about recovering and strength training. Try YouTube for band exercises
Heck yeah. That's a sick deck
thank you soo much i think i do have some flex bands
@ripe blade no problem. Good luck in your recovery 🤘
does anyone have tips for landing ollies? i got the pop down but my landings are off
What do you mean by off? Are you stepping off before you land? or just off balanced?
how tf can i land a heelflip? the board keeps flying way forward so i can only get my flicking foot on it pls help
i just got my first actual board
Yoooo
Any skate shoes suggestions I’m looking to get a new pair
do you want like a simple shoe or something with a lot of tech in it
Idk what you mean by tech but something that could last or endure
Do you have wide feet, if so that will change some of my recomendations
I’d say narrow I’m a 9.5 if that helps
If you want something that will last a while, check out the Vans AVE 2.0
I wear them both to skate as well as an everyday shoe sometimes because they are really comfortable. They have a ultracush midsole in them
My new board just shipped if anyone cares lol. heres the deck.
Thank you I like how they look and they are affordable also nice deck
here before everyone flocks to this channel
lol
Can we behave and not get this one locked too?

I just got a skateboard today
who tryna skate around im board
Hey
The wheels.. personal preference. Big difference between soft and hard. I usually get 52 or 53mm for the size. I can't really recommend anything specific cause that's all personal preference.
Ah Makes sense
Skateboard wheel size, measured in millimeters (mm), typically ranges from 50mm to 75mm, with smaller wheels (50-53mm) favored for technical street skating and larger wheels (54mm+) for cruising and skatepark transition.
Then you have to factor in hardness. Harder wheels will let you slide more, softer wheels have more grip.
I think ima go 53 on size and probably go pretty soft because I feel like I'd slide and hurt myself
Oh, you’re gonna hurt yourself regardless. That’s part of skateboarding.
I ride motorcycles and there’s a saying : it’s not if, but when you drop your bike.
Yeah makes sense, do trucks really make a difference along with bearings?
What wheels do you have right now? You might already be skating hard wheels
I don't really know
Bearings make a difference. Trucks are trucks - you just want to make sure you have good bushings.
I ride longboards. My trucks are Gullwing Sidewinder II (double kingpin) for carving. Independent are good short board trucks, Gullwing.
If you're skating hard wheels right now and move to soft.. it could feel a lot different. Or vice versa.
How do I tell
My best guess tho would be soft because they feel kind of rough
Almost like super low grit sandpaper
Is the best way I could describe it
Soft wheels are quieter. And they cruise well on bad pavement and over cracks.
This is all I got
It's really hard to tell. You got any friends who skate to compare to?
Nah Ngl tho I think they are soft because I can't like slide the board at all tbh
Which would make sense
I think he had it setup to skate transition because when I got it the board wouldnt turn hardly at all it was super stiff I had to loosten it just to turn left and right without running off my drive way
You should be able to slide any wheels. It's just the harder the wheel is, the easier it is to slide. The surface you're skating on and even the temperature can change how easy it is to slide.
Sliding is all about speed and shifting weight to break traction
do you guys think riding 7.5 trucks and an 8.5 deck will be detrimental when i skate ??
i skate royal trucks and baker og deck
thats insane, i think youre better off getting bigger trucks
I'm new to skateboarding irl but to me that sounds like a ad idea ngl why not just get the right size?
I see the new decks in here and since I got no help for this in #general-discussion I'll ask in here. What are some recs on a new deck? I broke my last board in college and haven't gotten on since, been like 3 years. I'm liking DGK and Baker's decks so far, but I'm not afraid of some deep cut companies.
Bro that decks fire😭🙏🏼
newport deck is crazyyy
Ikkkk 😭
yo yo yo, how we feel about skate rails on decks???
love em!
I’m learning guys 🤣
😭number one thing my guy does
It’s almost skating season
it been skating season
Went out today after only being on a board once in like 18 years. Still got an Ollie, kickflip, and pop shuv. Felt nice at 33!
30 gang! Welcome back to the fun
Thanks! 50 mins total at the skatepark before work and I rolled my ankle already. We’re so fuckin back
Niiiiiiice! Hope your ankle still heals up like it used to many moons ago lol
Luckily it wasn’t that bad. Walking around at work rn and it’s just a bit sore haha need mids or high tops for shoes instead of the cheap low cut vans I have. Used to be able to go so many sessions without getting hurt, now I got less than an hour in me haha
Bro I didn’t know Dgk has holographic decks im so inlove definitely need these on the new skate and irl
was very close to getting this as my new board but im afraid of what it'll look like after some boardslides 😭
You ever try any deck rails? Protect the graphics when sliding
no but I'm interested, I asked in here a couple days ago how people felt cause I'd get them so long as I'm not getting flamed at the park for them lol
Don't worry about what others think. Everyone isn't always going to agree with you and just because you have deck rails doesn't mean you're a worse skater. Pros use them and they're useful. I also think they can look pretty sick
That’s valid 😭it’s such a beautiful board
you're right, do you have any experience with them? The only other thing holding me back is if they add any weight to flip tricks
I dont know too much about them. But what I do know is that I had many setbacks for caring what others thought. It's always the little things. One person wont like something then theyll try to keep others from using that item when they have their benefits
exactly how i feel abt my youtube channel, i used to be so embarassed but also proud of it. once i get my new board im going to revive the channel 😤
just realized i abbreviated "about" lol, sorry i've been texting
You're good. Revive that sucka. Post the vids in the irl clips channel when you do
okay will skating trucks half an inch smaller than the board ruin skating it
I most definitely will, I’m enjoying the sense of community in here so I know yall will give some good criticism 🤘
I wanna learn heel flips again, who’s bio do I check now
mine.
Nah that says kickflip not heelflip man
Do you guys have any advice for ollies while moving? My board keeps turning as I land.
tighten your trucks until your comfy landing an ollie, you'll build confidence as you practice then you can loosen them back up
practicing on carpet or in the grass also helps
now that you mention it, my board does turn very easily.
My stationary ollies are fine, its just when moving
i used to keep mine loose enough to swang and bang lol, i understand what your going through!
maybe learn it better first, you still have a long way to go to master it
normal and switch
Sounds more like you are getting scared while moving and not staying centered. Pay attention to what your arms and shoulders are doing. Without a vid of it though it's hard to say exactly what's going on.
Yeah you right. Here’s a video of me doing some ollies
Nice angle! Your trucks seem just fine. As you're about to jump they stay straight so tightening won't help you out here.
From what I can tell your shoulders stay pretty straight as well! So that rules out my first thought.
Your take off looks nice! [See first screenshot]
So the issue here is what you're doing right after you jump. [See screenshot 2]
Notice how your foot angle is more like the red line with your toes pointing downward instead of having your foot straight like the blue line.
To help that, bring your knees up more towards your chest instead of keeping your feet under your butt.
skateIQ is super helpful here [see screenshot 3]
And here's a link to that video and section(link should be timestamped but if not, it's the section under "Hippy Jumps") He breaks it down better than I can and shares the drills to fix it

Thanks for the in depth feedback! I hadn’t even noticed that was happening with my legs when I was jumping.
I just got my first skateboard ever today. Now I don’t know where start 😅
I mean I'm no expert, but when I was first skating I just spent time working on my balance. I practiced pushing off, and turning, and stopping. Try to just get comfortable pushing off on your board first and don't go too fast to start. As you get more comfortable on your board you can start to go faster. Also, make sure to bend your knees just a bit when you ride on flat ground. Skate often, don't give up, and have fun! Here's a video to help: https://youtu.be/FA9YTmI0mIg?si=hExS-QrEwSm2n-PJ
If you just got your first skateboard and you're wondering where to start—this is the video for you. Learning to push is a fundamental skill, and while the best thing you can do is spend time on your board, this video will give you a few key things to think about so you know you're doing it right.

Ok thanks I’ll be sure to look at this
Gotta get a van and chase down Jimmy Wilson so he can notice you
Landed my first set of Ollie’s today feel really proud of myself
Good job!
Heck yeah!
All i really see is your front foot being to far to the edge of the board so its wanting to flick the board a little bit when you pop that ollie. Get your foot more in the center of the board and practice foot placement with your tricks, dont ever give up my friend. 🙏🏾
bought my first board over the weekend after not skateing for like.. 25 years or something? im old af
Freaking sick ol man 🤙
haha tyty
Super clean
Does anyone know good cheap skateboards?
Element has good completes for cheaper than normal
Board is clean af, but side note cause I’m in this too: why are all us old heads getting back into it now after so long? Lmao what has come over all of us to hop back onto the board now
thank youu
