problem is a lot of that is personal preference, you can never go wrong with Independent, Thunder, Venture or Ace trucks I guess, Spitfire or Bones wheels (Important thing is size and durometer), Boards I'd suggest DLX boards (Anti Hero, REAL and Krooked)

make sure to learn what size goes with what, the myriad of truck sizes is a hassle but I'd suggest looking up their respective charts for what truck size goes with what deck size

EA acquires studios as well as creating some if I'm not mistaken. Black Box was apparently making a few games published by other companies untill it was acquired by them. So you could say that EA owns them and their IP's, including Skate. So, even when Black Box was out, EA can do whatever they want with Skate and give the IP to another studio to make a new game for the franchise.

There is an interview with Cuz (the creative director for the upcoming Skate game that worked on the older titles as well) where he mentioned that after the studio got shut down (and they were expecting this to happen so they tried to release as much DLC as possible) only some years later, one of EA's important employees if I'm not mistaken (can't remember her name, she's important for EA in some way, don't know much about that) decided to mention Skate to the higher ups or talk to others about the idea of making a new game and here we are.

I don't know the right terms for some things so this is pretty much what happen that was told publically, basically someone at EA was interested for Skate and they talked with the people who worked on it if they wanna make a new game, talk to others etc...
