ah. the EA launcher version has a tool to reinstall the anticheat but looking through my Steam install I see now that the steam version doesn't lol
in that case, right click on the game in steam, go to properties then click on "installed files" and click the "verify integrity of game files" button. if that doesn't work then try reinstalling the game?

(its also in the skate _installer folder but that's likely an old version.. can be used to reinstall but will prob want to be updated first)

the respawn time seems to be related to both internet connection and speed of the drive your game is installed on .. i believe the game streams things like textures/assets via the server so it can take longer to do that if you're internet access isnt great but also if you're still using an old spinning HDD that can impact it as well

Grom is great. Loving it. Makes it difficult to go back to San Van, OG Map. Perhaps we need to add a mega park. I don't always want to do giant airs, with huge bursts of speed, however its a nice change up over the technical skating. It would be nice to have both those play styles available within the same map. I find I'm reluctant to return. Perhaps it's the double load. Fast travel to the boat, then enter.... It's also an entirely separate instance with seperate players.... so someone can't invite me to do an OTL, in San Van, if I'm in Grom..... and vice versa. Perhaps matchmaking would correct this? Either way, props for grom... paywall issues aside, its a great map.... well done, and it is improved over the tutorial version, in all the right places.

Yeah that's sort of why my position as a skate lover is that I don't encourage anyone to buy into skate in hopes that something said about the future of the game will pan out... I can't really honestly bet on that when it comes to every specific future thing that might motivate people to invest and hope. I think it is a much healthier and less-likely-to-frustrate reason to invest if you just look at the game as is right now and say, "Am I getting enough fun time out of this to justify financial support for game over other games I might want to support with my limited resources?" For me, the answer is yes, so I spend, and I'm never sad about it.

But if your answer is, "Yes, if they eventually give me a park builder..." then, well, I couldn't recommend you spend in good conscience, personally. (Because I no longer expect to see one, and I'm concerned you'll probably be frustrated down the road.)

The interactable parts of the map should be client side. It's too easy for randoms to come in and just mess with something you're skating, especially when you cant easily find a new server.

Randoms can sometimes be fun....I've got a clip where there were about 10-15 of us on the wooden ramps up from Bonski Skatepark, furniture on the sides to watch all just trucking for like 30 minutes....all of us randoms, no mics....I've never experienced it since. I think the community needs to decide a communal spot like that and spread the word....get some sick shots

Yea the random diy's can be spontaneous and fun, but you also have the option to turn off everyone's props if they're in the way. There's no way to stop getting griefed by someone repositioning something you're skating.

Its much better imo i may be dumb in saying this but my main issues were the lack of branded content and how long it took to complete the pass everything else was tollerable for me (i will admit im not a fan of the early access for grom i feel like they shouldve done something to make it accessible to everyone before adding the tickets not making it early access then adding tickets
