the one thing i have been noticing only in skate is that sometimes when inputs require the full range of motion like a simple kick flip that if i am lazy on the sticks it has a slightly higher chance of not reading the input because its so damn precise

A while back I thought of an idea of using rip chips to buy a small skate park. You’d start off with a very basic and small plot of land and use rip chips to purchase props for it. Then you could sell it and buy a bigger plot of land, rinse and repeat. Eventually you could work your way up to owning a huge warehouse and turn it into your dream skate park.

I think the lack of "soul" and "culture" people identify is just how bad the environmental story telling is also. If you pay attention to what is on the billboards, how characters are dressed in the environemnt, the lack of (police, gardeners, bin men, people wearing suits in buisness districts) you can just feel the fact its a fake world. Add on top of that vee, imprevatek, no skate culture, weird skins people skate around in, and insane looking parks. All just makes the game feel fake and soulless

I tried guys. I put in 400 hours, did all the battle passes. Unlocked everything. Spent money in the shop, learned all the tricks, hit clips.. but after slapping a paywall on tutorial island. It’s not uncommon for owners or CEOs to not like the direction their company is going in, and decide to make changes. It does not always mean the company is doomed. Could the game be doomed? Yes. Is it? We have no idea. But I’m hoping the head of FC decided to make changes because they want the game to go in a direction that more aligns with what the players want.

Think about it. This game has been universally panned for nearly every decision. The art style. The level design. The cosmetics. The repetitive challenges.

Constructively speaking: the fact this needs to be announced preemptively is a bad sign. It shows FC clearly realises how negative and distrusting "player sentiment" (or whatever corporate phrase) is atm.
We are yet to get proper response for the Tix decision and before that could even get addressed, the Grom announcement was made.

The live service model could have worked. People told Full Circle that they'd be willing to try it and said exactly what they wanted to see from it and what they were willing to pay for but it seems like they went the complete opposite way from everything people asked for. Really going to be sad when/if this game dies because you can tell the devs put their all into the skating mechanics of the game, it feels really damn good.

But I’ll be optimistic (possibly blindly) that this may end up being good news for the people that want the game to succeed.

We didn’t like the direction the game was going and according to the update, they weren’t either. So all I can do is hope today’s news really does mean they will be working faster and listening more and giving us what we actually want, instead of what they thought we wanted, but didn’t.

Look, if leadership recognized that unpopular decisions alienated the community (they absolutely did), pivoting and changing direction can be a sign they actually want to save the game. The current game is not holding people’s attention long term. It’s likely not bringing in the money they wanted. They could just be laying off people to save money, but that doesn’t solve their problems long term.

Letting go of people responsible for making the wildly unpopular decisions and changing course makes them money in the long run by bringing fans want they want. More fans actually happy makes them money compared to apathetic fans dwindling.

a lot of the things I was looking forward to in season 3 were pushed back to later seasons like player created parks and game modes. This is just a hunch but the game mode speedlines is probably just something they slapped together within a few days because they couldn't polish spot battle and skate in time. 🤷‍♂️

I played this game in early access a few years ago, and I was just happy to finally have a new skate game. When season 1 started I didn't mind buying a few items here and there to support the game in hopes it could expand, but between the last road map and now this it's really difficult to be hopefully for anything that isn't just "Hey here's another way we'll nickel and dime you until we decide to pull shut the servers down and find a different old IP to milk dry"
