Understandable to me the game feels like the most bare bones work on ue5. For the amount of time they’ve had and the work they put in doesn’t seem like much at all tbh and the shading in the game being weird to start the game is a whole different topic. As I understand it, skate runs on Frostbite which was originally designed for FPS, so I'm sure a fair bit of wrestling with the engine was necessary to get it where they wanted it.

I’d say it’s a place that drives skaters to think differently of the city, places that drive the culture forward, stickers, grafitti and promo options by meeting random skaters around the city
A place where broken things finds a use case
Where skaters despite being kicked out and told off- find a way to make it work

Aka- a place that isn’t perfectly clean, designed down to the last minute detail, but where the roughness, tight alleyways and fallen over trashcans turn out to be your next line and spot u will find yourself scraping across the asphalt for- seeing that new thrasher hoodie u just got- get dirty and maybe even get marks that then remind u of that one time u hit that spot

there's some good spots still, but all of my favorite lines have a lot of problems that are hard to work around. they're not rough in a realistic way, just kinda because they don't go anywhere

otl is crazy bugged , pretty often tricks just don’t count for no reason . i get measurable things like clean tricks or not holding a grab/grind long enough to trigger, but i’m not sure how a body flip is able to not trigger. plus some of the challenges seem to be thought up but not tested

I'm praying for that day. Been playing skate since skate 1 released. This game has HUGE potential but the cartoony art style is just very anti skater so hoping they adjust that eventually.

The feeling of the game is the best it's ever been but the lack of confidence in the game lasting due to being online only has pushed me and many others to never spend a dollar on the game and I know that's not good for the life of the game.

We all patiently waited 10 years we could've waited another 3-4 years for a full game with a $70 price tag

its a backside grab. watch your direction when grabbing. the skatepedia will show you whatever your default stance is.

edit: method is a different grab totally. make sure you're holding R up first then backside grab

the server is run on her home PC and it was working with port forwarding before, but now that her ISP is doing NAT as well as her modem the port isn't properly connecting anymore. she doesn't have enough modem control to turn it off either. we're looking into hosting a server on another player's linux box
