I really want them to figure out the issues with props at the moment. our group has worked out that playing around with props too much is what's causing crashes, let alone how frustrating the building is when they constantly try to autocorrect. There are so many fun spots I can't play w/ anymore because we can't float em' anymore. rip to half off the drop in ceiling ride spots i've got. ): GIVE US FREEDOM

for the floating objects, i’m a realistic skater so i don’t ride many spots like this, but there is actually a way to still make them float. the original way just doesn’t work. (i know people want this feature, but it doesn’t seem to be intended by design so that’s why it gets removed)

i’m sure it will be something implemented in someway or another because of the sheer amount of people who enjoy it

Oh yeah, definitely. I agree! I really fw realistic stuff too and it's still fun for me, but there's certain times you just want to throw yourself off of a ramp in the sky and land something mad with your friends yk? I understand it's by intention and I get why, but I see so much potential in so many areas but there's nowhere to make those things happen if the buildings don't line up, yk what I mean? Shame rlly. Other than that, I've been enjoying the game a lot.

Liking the update a fair bit do far! Small but impactful changes, and filming is finally gettimg close to where it needed to be all along.

One gripe though: Awesome that they fixed motion blur and DOF constantly turning themselves back on, that's great. However, now my grind assist resets back to 100 every new session, which is decidedly way worse of a setting to be broken

Hey guys, I’ve come here for some help…

I’ve recently installed Skate. And have come into a recurring bug during the Tutorial. I literally can’t do anything other than uninstall the game.

Basically, I’m at the shop listening to the dialogue. It flashes my map on the screen and then repeats the dialogue and it won’t stop.

I am literally in a constant loop. I’ve tried closing the game, reinstalling it, clearing all data and starting for scratch.

Every time to get to this dialogue - it bugs out.

Day 1 of me playing Season 2 [Update day] started with me checking out the tunnel first
Tunnel was fine but got boring quick
Same with the rooftop ramps that lead to pavement
And then day 3 (yesterday) I bought the Skate. pass for a single pair of pants because it looked good for an ingame cosplay
Now taking a break due to my settings getting factory reset and waiting for weekly challenge resets
Overall could be so much better but the new handplants are sick and ragdoll physic changes are nice

I dont know if its this same bug, or if youre on pc but if you are, try launch EA anticheat exe in the game folder. Some people said this worked for them on the ea forums.

I didn't really crash at all in season 1, but my group and I seem to take turns crashing every time we're setting up objects for a line now. it's can't be a performance thing cause my pc is great, and one of us will always crash when we have 8ish objects down. I’ve got a list of gameplay stuff - magnetic rails (sometimes forcing you into a weird angle), co-op challenges forcing randos with you even when in a party, etc.

we’ll have updated Known Issues on Tuesday with The Weekly Grind (not an exhaustive list, but top ones that are being triaged).

The settings and customization revert after relogging is a known issue the team is working on.

Our group have been experiencing a lot more crashes since the update and we suspect it has something to do with quick objects. I very rarely crashed in S1, but when we're setting up quick objects for a line - we all seem to be taking turns crashing. It's not performance cause my pc is great.

Another bug w/ quick objects, not sure if it's been reported yet. If two people grab a quick object at the same time, it throws you into build limbo. You can't move anything or place anything anymore and need to restart.

I have a feeling the crashing after completing Own The Lot challenges is due to having too many players in it. There were times I would be playing with a four party group and I would see two randoms doing the challenges with us.

I remember seeing posts in the bug forums related to the game not being able to process more people in the challenge than in the party.

It did make the OTL stuff a lot more fun due to lack of stress but once it crashed, and I logged back in, the progress wasn’t saved.

The progress saving can be fixed if you just let the animations play out without pressing the A/X button on Xbox/Playstation on the error message but the crashing will happen as soon as you accept the message.

Hey everyone! I have a suggestion regarding current and upcoming seasons. In the Past Seasons category, they should be permanently available. This means you can view and purchase any season you want at any time, even 3 or 4 years from now. All seasons will be available for purchase (as Netflix series). There's no need to delete a season.

(Available for purchase at any time. Certain seasons may be on sale at certain times of the year, such as Black Friday in the game ).

This is why the seasons must be complementary. The challenges you complete are for one season (which you choose). After finishing your season, you can select another. This will allow you to collect all the cosmetics (from purchased seasons) without any time limit.

For players who want to replay seasons (like me), a category in the menu would allow them to replay them without time limits. That's all I ask. I enjoy the game a thousand times over, and with this option, it would be fantastic. All seasons would be replayable (provided they're purchased or through a promotion). You choose the season you want, confirm, and your challenge points will be unlocked for that season. Once the season is over, you can move on to another. This is great, without needing to spend any extra money. However, the packs and skins in the shop are limited.

Once the season is over and you have unlocked all the items, it will display "Completed". That would be fantastic. Many players would be happy with that option. And new players will still be able to access their previous seasons.

there was no seasonal completion reward ever. the CLAIM button, which is part of the Tasks menu, shouldn't have appeared for the Seasonal Tasks section.
when folks started completing the Season (about mid-way in S1), that's when the bug showed up and to fix it (because you could press it and it did nothing, because again, there was no reward) the team had to do a while client update.

in %localappdata% you'll find the "skate" folder.. rename that folder eg. skate_old and then let the game recreate it

you'll have to do some settings again like the narrator stuff that comes up before you click the start button but so far i haven't had the resolution issue after doing that

please be warned that inside the skate\data folder are your videos and screenshots so don't just delete the skate folder (hence why i said rename it)

its a long shot, but i have controlled folder access (CFA) disabled (its in windows security->virus and threat protection->ransomware protection) ... i doubt it but it may be one difference to why yours resets... you can instead add skate.exe to the CFA exception list as a safer option

nope! im almost certain that this is some sort of server-sided issue regarding the data of my character, or client-sided if the character data is stored on your computer instead of the server.

in every case where this bug is observed, it begins when the player character completely breaks in-game, either disappearing or falling through the floor. this broken state seems to be preserved on the server, preventing the game from properly initializing (black screen). this permanently bricks the player from accessing the game (as there is no known way for them to reset their character state), and their only options are to play on an alternate account or request assistance from support

u can see which challenges are time limited or rotating because they will have a time limited icon in the upper right-hand corner; would send a screenshot if my game was functional 😻

do 6 180 or 3 360 body spin tricks back to back with manuals in between; that is what triggered it for me. i just did a few 180-360 kickflips in a row; u can also do them on a rail or ledge stall, as long as all 4 wheels do not touch the floor

yep! the white circle logo next to the diamond shows it resets and you can do it multiple times. the blue symbol means it's a weekly/season challenge that awards tix

It’s just confusing to me that they look the exact same as the challenges that reset. Then we have an actual mission tab where Vee, malto, or slappy talks

they've got a stripey background and don't have the reset symbol next to them. it explains along the story that the ones with the white circle logo reset or cycle daily. the actual story of the game is pretty short, it's just meant to expose you to the game mechanics, tricks, and a bit of lore. there will be more later when brickswitch and other expansions open

imho, it is not a major issue, as you can just avoid them after having already completed them, unless they are maybe blocking view of nearby time-limited missions. i dont want to re-do any of the story missions anyway, as they are somewhat longer and cant normally be completed in a single attempt / trickline, but they are somewhat fun for what they are. maybe more enjoyable for newbies to the skate franchise

the co-op task can be skipped if u dont want to do it. personally, im waiting for a matchmaker before completing that task. im doing the other tasks that come after it. but yea, u are not required to do that task to progress the other tasks or story. u can unlock the rest by just doing other challenges normally

my personal favorites are the weekly challenges, and some of the daily challenges when they happen to be at interesting locations. the story challenges are kind of a chore to me, especially given that I have played every single skate™ game up to this one.
i really do not care about 'learning' anything, and just want to do things without Vee, Slappy, or whoever constantly interrupting me

god this game makes me miss when NPCs would react to you. in Skate 3, the NPCs would crowd around, cheer u on, applaud, and watch as u do tricks. was so cool to dominate in a skate spot and see a crowd of people clapping and also reacting when u bail!
in this game, it just sort of plays a random 'cheer' sound effect from off-screen, and the NPCs pretend u dont exist until u walk into them. its really underwhelming

i think part of it is the way ollie timing works in this game... for some reason you have to ollie suuuper late for the pop assist to kick in, otherwise u just slam into rails and objects and there is literally no way to pop high enough to reach them normally.. for whatever damn reason..

in skate3 it is very easy to high pop onto things with 0 assists

i did better solo than my first attempt teaming up with a rando, on both OTLs. i'm really not sure what that's about. i eventually got up to the 4th tier at the church with a rando but we couldn't get to 40.

The OTL is pretty straight forward if you are with someone of equal ability, but the tasks are boring and just repeat themselves. OTL on skate 3 was the sweet spot

i am literally tasks and free skate (minus OTL)... so glad the daily tasks take like 5mins if that.. these last two you can double/triple progress the tasks by doing the trick in a certain spot and sequence enough points with a 180 lol

I agree. What's affecting it is the overpricing of the packs and such. Also the lack of cool things from past skate titles like deathraces and hall of meat challenges.

I have fun playing skate., but I prefer the older titles. I just play it more right now cause I want every single trophy and all location packs unlocked.

I don't feel like Nintendo is blocking them, as I've seen plenty of other non Nintendo titles that aren't there. Such as Rock Band (besides the 4th one), Infamous (besides Second Son), and more. I think Discord is just focusing on the newer titles, and randomly adding older ones as time goes on. For a while there was only KH3 + Remind DLC and 1.5 + 2.5 Remix games that could be added. Now you can do base KH3 without the DLC, Melody Of Memory, 2.8, and more.

I wouldnt say it has much to do with the pricing of items cuz that was to be expected before launch since its a free to play and an EA game. Everyone should've known stuff was gonna be expensive. But its definitely the lack of cool stuff to do. The only way I see this game surviving is if they start adding alot more stuff to do. Or they give a DLC for an offline story mode that has all the stuff the old skates used to.

There was Bully (SS only) and P5 (Royal only) but now they added the original versions of those games. There was also Dangan Reload that was recently added, but before that you could only add the two games from that title separately for some reason.

The lack of stuff to do I feel is another problem. Like I could play Persona 5, Genshin, or pretty much any other game I have for 3, 4, 5, etc hours on end if I wanted to. But for skate., I cannot. It get's to a point after like 2 hours where I'm like oke I'm done, I've exhausted myself for the day. Not that it's a bad game, far from it, but it's just too much of the same same for me to want to spend longer periods of time to play it.

And thats where im at, its just repetitive challenges, literally I only had one day off last week, I hopped on skate for an hour, then played in snow with the kids, then I played kcd2 for like 10 hours straight other than to cook and clean 😂

Oh nice. Yeah the challenges are a lot of the same, and it gets stale after a while. To the point where I pretty much only do the tix challenges and the permanent challenges now. I avoid the rest mostly, and that's because the rewards are low and not worth the effort. If I need it for a weekly, daily, etc then I will but otherwise, not worth it for me to attempt them. Sure they are easy all of them, but that still doesn't make it any fun.

Even just the daily rotational sessions. Lines, ect. Theyre all the same and it gets boring doing it all. When brickswch opens ill grind thst out till completion, then it'll go back to boredom till they add more stuff.

I've played skate 1 and skate 3 before, as well as skate it. Pretty much every challenge in this game is just too easy for me and not as exciting. Which is a shame, you'd think they'd amp up the difficulty for more og players but even the most advanced of challenges I can complete in one try usually. I still like this game, I still want to complete all locations to rep 10, and unlock everything in the boxes there. As well as buy the s2 pass and get all the rewards but after that eh. I don't think I'll buy s3 or onwards passes. I love the 80's and 90's, so that's why I already got the first pass and want to get the second one for Christmas.

Once I unlocked all boxes and achievements I honestly didn't see much point in farming chips. I like the game but they really need to add a store for rip chips or something. Fall Guys did something similar with earnable credits having their own rotating store daily.

I am almost done with trophies too, just can't get the dang 4x one to unlock. Which is a shame that a trophy like that even needs to exist but whatever.

Correct, it has to run out. Slams, and any wrecks do not count. Which, even despite this the trophy is still easy. It's just grindy to complete.

Easiest way to do it (for me anyways) was to just go to market mile, keep jumping off the roof into the skate park then just stay in the skate park doing flips and stuff. I got it done in about 2 hours

After like a week, I have to delete the skate folder in appdata to get the game to launch. It will start doing the full screen shuffle as I heard somebody call it before XD and it will freeze the system and crash hard. Also why do I have to do the cleanest 360 ever now for it to count as a 360? also like a tailslide, then a 270 spin out is supposed to count as a 360 in the world of skateboarding, but it doesn't anymore since a recent update.

Okay so season 2 dropped, EA advertises it with TEAM TEAM TEAM, but when playing as a team, it takes 5 minutes until everyone is invisible again. This bug is in the game since I started playtesting in the beginning of the year.
How can anyone at EA prioritise adding cosmetics instead of fixing core gameplay?

Also the new challenges are impossible for casuals and it’s not fun to try to grind a ledge for hours straight. All my friends dropped the game because it’s way too fckn hard.

i think a lot of it has to do with the lack of physical content.

theres not a lot of meat on the bones. i have only played this game for a couple hours total but i already recognize 90% of the spots i see in completely random screenshots and videos and can probably eyeball it on the map. a lot of challenges also arent really challenges and feel more like a checklist.

game is missing many of the versus modes that existed in previous installments from s.k.a.t.e. to 1-up. combine this with the near unplayable state of the game at times (currently unable to play ENTIRELY on this account due to bugs..), it is not a fun experience.

i have fun exploring the map, out of bounds, fun bugs, fun challenges, and skating with friends and randos, but man, nothing will beat the chaos and complexity of skate3. the npcs dont even do anything in this game. u cant even skitch cars!!!

anyone aware of what that replay editor bug is when you're setting keyframes and the camera just snaps away for no reason?,
literally between 2 keyframes the camera will just make a sideways movement, you can't fix it, you remove the keyframes where the bug is and it just moves to the set of keyframes before it.

My tinfoil hat theory is that there's a heat map of player activity. I don't use the community parks when they're blue and yellow to avoid my made up theory about player heat maps. The best so far was the short lived Harvest color ones.

Community parks should rotate their locations on the map instead of being fixed to only three spots. And these parks should be made by the players. The current three community park locations should be repurposed as venues for online challenges (such as a stadium or arena) and open-world locations for offline challenges.

PS5, Saturday. I was doing a line all of a sudden the game throw me off under the map and couldn’t do anything. I get "lag" sometimes but it's tied to my refresh rate. So it's not anything to do with network connectivity. If you're certain you have a strong network connection, try going between Full Screen and Borderless Full Screen in your Display Settings on skate. It's a bug, but happens occasionally to me too. I get bad "lag" that's essentially screen tearing until I reset the display settings.

it doesnt even matter if u try and access the game on another platform if its on the same account, bcs its a server sided problem with your character data that makes it unable to initialize. this is a well known problem as we are not the only ones to suffer from it

i've seen some people on forums solve this on pc by going to the Skate folder and starting the Anticheat exe.

as for console....i couldn't tell you, I wasn't in a black screen but i was under the map and invisible after a bail....i went into the replay editor and quick drop menu, teleported...after that i restarted my game and i was out, don't know if that does anything but i magically got out(there's essentially no fix for console)

there's one gameplay assist I turned off that I think helped, I think it was called anti pumping or something, I dropped off the market mile shop into the rolling waves ramp and basically came to a complete stop just before I landed and I knew something was up lol
