It’s an “early access” game in my opinion, everything is too expensive, and they don’t offer anything unique or different. But I guess that’ll change over time. It’s not a bad game either, and I’m aware I wouldn’t spend that much money on something that’s not worth it. We just have to remember it’s a free-to-play.
And with all due respect to the previous entries, I still prefer them but it is what it is. They’re listening to the community, and hopefully they’ll fix things.

Tix were meant for you to use it on the season pass. Not collecting them. Any other games you dont keep any "tix" in their next seasons at all.

Man the free boards are really nice thank you! A couple of questions though, why does the clothing & style in skate. feel so out of touch with real skate culture? The shop’s packed with garbage like crop tops, skirts, leggings, glitter jackets, and generic tees or stupid hot dog slippers like wtf—no one wears that grinding rails. We’re missing modern staples (Supreme, Baker, Palace, straight chinos, post-2010 slim fits) and stuck with outdated 90s baggy JNCOs or washed-out stuff. Art style’s too clean/corporate, lost the gritty vibe skate games in general have like Session or the older Skate games. (The instagram post regarding the update on the city was huge, being able to see imperfections in the architecture around the city and adding some grim vinyl does a lot. )
Is it live-service MTX filler to push San Van Bucks grinding? We definitely appreciate the transparency with licensing issues with brands (got Dickies/Vans/Thrasher/Girl,) but no GX1000/Dime? Come on man. Are we chasing broad appeal w/ 70% women’s/casual wear over core skaters? Or are the devs not deep in 2025 skate scene? The tik tok cringe in the shop if rough man.
You got a player council—how’s feedback shaping this? I know you guys mentioned nothing coming in Season 2 but are there any plans for better licensing, less trash rewards, grittier aesthetic? Early access growing pains suck and this direction we are in feels like skating is a second hand focus.

i understand fosho, probably more than most homie. i’m a player who plays everyday and im an indie dev with a community of over 10,000 people.

this isn’t going to be what people want to hear, but the game is in early access. it never needed to be available to the public this early (if you think it shouldn’t have been released then it’s a fair opinion)

give them time to work on the development of the game and provide them as much constructive criticism that you can in the process. i get it doesn’t seem like they listen, but they’re allowing us to help them shape the future of the game contrary to people’s perception.

i know most people won’t understand, but these are all complaints we should have MUCH closer to season 3 and beyond.

So true, honestly play on experienced setting while you play skate. and that's half the battle. Getting you used to pushing based on stance is satisfying and most realistic if that get's your goat. After that flicking and turning with the triggers is cake dude.
Session deserves all the love it gets BECAUSE it is a indie dev and they have been consistent regardless of the way they handled their Discord.

They've been acquired by nacon. Following this the game was pushed to 1.0 while forfeiting many of the promised features. And to this day, every time you go into a grind you break your ankles
They've also been anything but consistent regarding Creature has to develop another game for Nacon as well. They consistently release new paid DLC without major game improvements though XD

It's true, skate. has the best skating mechanics and animations right now for sure, Session was my close second but when you factor in everything else and the lack of grabs entirely, it's not a comparison. Art style is and clothing direction is super rough but the foundation of mechanics and animations are there for sure.

So far I played 2 new challenges l today... both have given me problems. This game is a piece of work.... but I'm trying to be optimistic. The first challenge didnt recognize my grinds until the end and it ended up making me complete the mission even when I didnt do everything in one attempt.. the next challenge randomly session marked me in the middle of the challenge multiple times.. so I had to run/skate all the way back to the start over and over.. also the rails were barely grindable for a challenge specifically with grinds built in 🙃🙃🙃 I really hope they fix this and check the stuff before they put it out.

Played like first month of it then decided it was cash grab and got bored. I didn't like how every free clothing was not what skaters would wear. Like bright neon green socks. With all due respect everyone working on the game is doing their best. It takes a lot of care, time, energy, and devotion to get skateboarding right. Its not just a game, its a culture and lifestyle that everyone views differently.. We knew the game wasn't gna be what the other skates were. It feels better (imo) & there are gna be a lot of bugs and glitches.. some funny some frustrating.. The last few 'free' drops were a good hint of what we will get in the future updates. They are listening and giving us more stuff and at a higher quality, too. Graphics increased significantly.. looks like my board (trucks) turn waaay better now, Im still finding new spots where I don't usually look, community parks are way better than last ones.. It all depends on who or what you listen to. If you're gna agree with everyone saying its gna die, it will die for you. The throwdowns are certainly a step but it doesn't hold a candle to Skate 3's spot battles as with spot battles you could directly search or create a lobby just for that reason whereas the throwdowns are easily missed and even if the flag is put in a prime spot with loads of people not many will join it and when they do they have no idea what they joined and are promptly 20k+ points behind and it seriously lacks the competitive aspects that made the original spot battles so fun and its what pushed so many of us to take the time to learn as many tricks and practice our lines so hard.

Yeah its not great, Im not sure if youre doing it on flat but ollie height can change depending on what you are going to land on, as soon as you flick the game calculates where you will and and then changes the height based upon that. Even if you do the exact same input.

There's a pretty complex system to how pop works in this game

Once you get it down, you can easily, consistently do high pop tricks

Not all tricks give the same amount of pop, terrain matters, trick prep matters

Honestly it was amazing, Skate 3 perfected so many great aspects which made Skate, Skate, its just a shame that so many of those aspects are missing, I am really happy that we have a new updated skate i really am its just things like darkslides and handplants etc being either half done or missing completely was really dissapointing as so many of the lines i practiced endlessly all those years ago now just fall apart without those key tricks that could turn a somewhat impressive line into something magical

Right now it feels like a very odd dystopian world where everything is sorta "sterilized" and portrayed as a perfect world. Just feels very weird to me. I like the game and it's fluidity for the most part but something just feels off and I'm not really sure how to describe it. The only thing I can say for sure is that I'd like to see more graffiti, more actual skate brands, more natural street spots, and less of the weird impervatek nonsense and neon yellow ramps with every single area being built like it was made only for skating. On a serious note, I do enjoy the small steps they've taken to address feedback from players. The free boards, Tix and SVB are cool. Same for the new Santa Cruz stuff. It would be nice though if they could move some of the new tricks up the roadmap priority list. I'm fine still missing certain avatar customization options if it meant we'd get dark catches, darkslides, etc in December instead of March or April 😮‍💨

I feel it. I regret being so eager to get back to the mainland when early access went live for playtesters. I blazed through the tutorial and now I wish I could go back lol. I don't think San Van is a terrible map but it isn't the greatest either.

It feels like a city that was designed to be a giant skatepark as opposed to a living, breathing metropolis that just so happens to have some solid spots. I do think it's cool that there are various areas that are blatantly inspired by real-world spots that have been featured in famous clips, but overall the city feels inorganic and very samey. There also isn't enough that separates the districts in terms of art direction/aesthetic to make them feel truly unique. The map is also kinda small, at least IMO.

For me it's because Brickswich is the part of the city that feels the most organic. Like yeah there are some very obvious skateable areas but overall, the presentation of it and the way spots are designed is very nice.

@tame breach Yep that's pretty much exactly how I feel about it. There is fun to be had, cool lines to be hit, but it's pretty much one large megapark. Hopefully with further updates they may improve the layout of the preexisting districts while improving and innovating with new ones but we'll see.

No you have 1 extra season. Definitely not "at your own pace". Also as far as I can tell from the UI, prior weeklies disappear as new ones arrive, so there's a lot of xp to miss if you don't play at a pace very much determined by the game.

There's a search bar on windows 11

On 10 and earlier you'd just hit the first letter of the program you're looking for and it jumps thru it in the list

ok in the processes tab, u can sort them by clicking the headers, u can sort it by name and it should organize them, or use other filters , or yeah if theres a search bar on win11 use that (im on 10 still lul)

if its not there then the process isnt running, and u can try re launching ur game from steam/ea . otherwise im not really sure if the issue will be fixed from task manager; might have to verify game files/reinstall / maybe a driver issue so check nvidia for any updates etc.

if you reinstalled it but havent clicked 'play' then it shouldnt appear in task manager, since its only showing programs currently running on ur pc. the task manager is just what you have to do when steam basically screws up and doesnt close/open your games properly (i think). try just launching it again from steam/ea and see if it works if youve reinstalled. otherwise i have no clue tbh gl

Cheese it by doing all the tricks you can do early and then just play survivor the rest of the way

Can't make the fountain gap because no matter what you do you get magnatized to land on/before the rail? Soft jump it to catch the bearing in the air but land before the fountain. Everything else is slow finessing.

I haven't tried it yet but I hear for bearing challenges, if you place down build objects to help you before collecting the first bearing, the will stay even if you bail and reset.

Sometimes you can win by colleting the last bearing while bailing. For some reason that's so funny to me. I've used it to my advantage to yeet myself at the end of a few challenges lol

I know this isn’t a support chat, but people generally come in here after their support tickets go unnoticed/unfixed. I also understand that many PC players are not having issues at all. Some are. Sucks to see people discount other people’s experiences. I’d also have 300 hours in this game if it were playable on my machine lol

ye there is more focus on visual filters than glitches and bugs after 2 months

so far a lot of fixes have been attempted but to no avail,

event viewer shows EA anticheat crashes thus the game crashes, this feels like dejavu of before back a month ago

'corrupt'/mismatching user data with server causing the crash, related to whatevver cloud sync is goin on since it cannot be fixed locally - wondering what its specific too since some people are not affected by it (yet)

There's many factors

A cheap PSU can also make your pc crash when games lead to power spikes (Helldivers 2 allegedly does this)
But besides that so many factors to consider with PCs (drivers, OS version, etc)

not to discount your experience, but cross-play works fine here on PC/Steam. i play with xbox and ps5 players daily

YMMV, I have no issues on PC and haven't turned off cross play. I actually haven't had bad performance issues in a long time. I don't know what factors are at play.

i tried crossplay on and off and ironically in crossplay off lobbies everyone is lagging all over the place and in crossplay on lobbies everyone's smooth as butter. i think people with garbage PCs turn it off thinking it'll help them but they have garbage PCs still
