The foot is wrapping the whole time… It’s not disconnected from the board when you pop. Therefore it’s an impossible. It’s doesn’t have to be super vertical to be an impossible, just need to wrap the board around your foot bruh

My main issue with the map is it feels like a theme park rather than a city. Nothing feels purposefully designed to be anything other than a skateable object so the whole place just feels too fake to be immersed in.

Everyone always asks about "new tricks" but then only want impossibles and dark catches/slides, fixed footplants and handplants. Am I the only one that thinks after all this time we should be seeing tricks we have never seen in the skate series before? Things like pressure flips and freestyle tricks, manual catches etc. I know they had to rebuild the flick it system from the ground up but seriously the only change from skate 3 is being able to control flip speed and stuff feels smoother (which it should since it's tech 15 years later).

Are new tricks gonna be seasonal things? Is it gonna be 2 years before we can say we have 10 more tricks that skate 3 didn't have? I'm sure the devs are hard at work but its been 5 years since the announcement and there is still no substance to this game just rinse, repeat and visit the store.

The only thing that still holds the game together is the foundation it stands on. the simple gameplay that is really fun and no one here disputes. the policy of updates that the game has produced so far unfortunately does not belong to that. Since the start of Season 1, the game has just been monetized even more without any real content. For my understanding, it's actually not appropriate to bring something like this into an early access game. I mean, we already have the 4th currency in the game. One should rather start reflecting the feedback from the community and, if necessary, better implement what has been desired for years. It's great that parts of it are already on the roadmap. but they prefer to release broken updates that can be monetized the best. I wish I could look to the future as positively as @visual oracle . You have my admiration for that.

Early Access means the game isn’t finished. That’s it. It doesn’t mean the devs can’t have a store, or that it’s automatically a scam. You can hate the monetization all you want (I do too), but that doesn’t magically make the game a full release.

People keep acting like the existence of cosmetics or a shop somehow rewrites what Early Access means. It’s like everyone’s so emotionally charged about EA that they refuse to make a basic distinction between unfinished product and bad monetization model.

You can absolutely criticize both, but pretending one cancels out the other just makes the whole argument messy.

I'd even go so far to say that most games releasing in early access, are doing it to earn money. I don't think I've ever seen a game release in early access without some way for the developers to make money from that early access release. That's usually the whole point of the early access, players know they're going into a potentially broken and unfinished product, and the developers get some early money from people who want to support the game.

I think it's the best one in the series gameplay wise like all the levels feel really well paced between traversal and kill rooms unlike the rest of the games and the new character is really fun. Honestly might replace dmc 5 as my favorite action game. The levels are really long too surprisingly like each chapter is a good 1-2 hours

But yeah the english dub is one of those that like uses a completely different script than the Japanese version and a lot of the characters get turned into just like 1 dimensional stereotypes in it. I think it is 100% worth it even though it is harsh gameplay and has some issues but what game doesnt they cant be perfect... it is a great co-op game but the playerbase may be kinda small now. it is a good take on a survival RPG. I would say if you can see what its about try it out or wait for number 2 because of the smaller player base and playing solo is not as fun

make a camera item that you equip, and while it’s equipped you can only ollie. to open the replay editor, you must have the camera equipped. congrats, you are now a dedicated filmer. and people will have to have you follow them in order to get clips. EA if you want to just hold onto this idea for the upcoming skateboarding mmo you are making, this can be your filmer class! (for the love of God, please don’t incorporate this idea in any form to skate.)

Honestly I don’t get why they keep making these decisions. Lowering rewards for challenges to, what I can only assume is stem the flow of bleeding player base, is dumb. If you want to stop hemorrhaging players add new ways to get rewarded. Add minuscule rip-chip rewards to free skate or throw-downs so there’s a way for everyone to play. I just hope they turn the game around because the actual skating gameplay bones are solid.
