Yes, Full Circle (DEVELOPERS) make the game, but EA (PUBLISHERS) also have control over what goes into, or out of the game, and can pull the funding whenever they want. I'm not sure which exact part that you're struggling to grasp here, but it's apparent that the Publisher wanted to focus on Microtransaction so that they can reclaim some of the cash that they invested into Full Circle.

It could be a parasitic relationship they have, I have no idea. But in most cases, you're going to see that the Developers are under the thumb of the wants and whims of the Publishers.

I’m a filmer for a lot of local pros and events and in my personal experience when I had 1 on 1 with them and I asked them about skate 1-2-3 they said they’ve never played it because they were BROKE, a lot and I won’t say every but a lot of skateboarders who skate not because it’s trendy come from poverty which is the case most times, so they didn’t have a console to begin with, a lot of people who played skate 3 never skated in their life.

They are unfortunately burdened by having played the earlier ones, while not necessarily a bad thing, many people do need to adjust their expectations and realise that games which they wait multiple years for are seldom going to live up to the hype.

@severe plank I loved THPS growing up, played 1, 2, 3 and I think 4 also. But had to unlearn a lot of it to get more familiar with the flick-it system which feels much better than THPS imho. I think the decline in players can be mostly attributed to the Season 1 update, and then the launch of Battlefield 6.

Honestly I like doing the daily challenges, they aren't a massive time sink, averaging about 90 minutes each time.

There are throwdowns as a sort of PvP, but the tricks need the score amounts balanced because manuals are quite cheap and necessary to cheese score.

I would like to see a sort of random Spot challenge every 3-4 hours to earn Rip Score and maybe some Tix depending on the season challenge(s)

Honestly, yeah. I dislike that some of the challenges are essentially the same but instead of a **Double Flip Trick ** it is now Triple Flip Trick, while I understand that trying to make new challenges could be difficult, there should be some more physical variety to do with the challenge itself.

@rugged star For me I definitely do the same and smash out the daily and weekly tasks as soon as I can, but that's mostly because I don't want to risk not getting the rewards for barely missing them.

@severe plank I am a solo player as well, but I do like to try and help out where I can, but the co-op bugging out definitely makes it harder to enjoy the game whilst in a party.

There is a standard for good (we can say good is the preference), and it can be achieved from lots of different places. I can go anywhere else and im met with 100% gratitude for even making an attempt to learn something or practice a language. Except that one time in Romania when i got an impromtu tour of an old german catholic church. Im covered in tattoos sitting outside this beautiful test of time, and this old lady comes out of nowhere to rip me a new one (probably for my appearance on the holy ground). I think a lot of that is a cultural thing. For example "terrible service" in other parts of the world is perceived different. Like when you order a cup of coffee outside of a cafe in paris, it will take a long time before they will bring you a check. They give you all the time you need. And guess what. Its the whole country of France's fault. Nah the expereience overall wasnt bad, but compared to other countries, french folks arent very tolerant. Probably not all, but most of who i encountered. I got welcomed with open arms and given way too much soju in Busan and got the grand tour of the nightclub district there just because i was down to exchange cultural information and have a good time. Busan is 10x better than Seoul and you cant change my mind.

I've been to french quite a bit, had some bad experiences with some of them. Of course. But also really nice encounters. From shop employees trying to help me in extra slow french, to museum personel that gave me the french version of the adio tour (because I was asking for it) and say "if it's too hard, come back and we'll switch to english", to a guy in a cafe who was surprised I already asked to pay my coffee after 30 minutes reading my book.

Thats dope. Like i said, it was just my experience. The last bar i worked at i had a guy that was traveling America for 6 months just because he wanted to see what it was like. He was suprised at the lack of gunshots everywhere, yelling and screaming, and the unwillingness to interact with foreigners but was met with kindness and curiousity 100% of the way. haha yeah and maybe that's the thing also: From what I understand americans are very "happy-friendly" and "how is your day sir" and asking about people. And in my experience with americans here in europe are also like that. I think that's fun and had great conversations with americans (even in paris a couple of times 🙂 ). But ion some countries, like especially france, they are more reserved and to themselves. basically "be kind of friendly but i don't want to know about your day just because you want coffee. Heres your coffee now let's not bother each other". Thats different but I kind of like that too 🙂

You're probably right. Its crazy how hospitable some people are. When I was in Constanta, Romania, i visitied the same beach bar every weekend and always ran into this old guy and his son and we would drink and chat. After a couple times drinking together, he was like, "come hangout at my hotel, we can cookout and get drunk.". Dude took me and the fellas to his beachside hotel, grilled tons of meat, and was gracious filling up our glasses with this STOUT homeamade whiskey. He even let me drunkenly take his sons bike to go get smokes down the road. We eventually got in trouble with his ex wife coming to get his son. yuh...i still don't get why people call unlocking stuff in the seasons pass "progressing"...because that's not what you're doing. I see it as rewards you get for playing the game, and thats where you progress aka learn to skate better. And even if you saw completing the pass as the ultimate goal of the game (which i just dont understand, but for the sake of the argument), yes it's very slow. More challenges are added every week, and tomorrow also event tasks will be introduced. It's slow but you'll be able to get to the last page of the pass before the end of the season. No need to put in real money for tix for "progressing" nothing.

I think ultimately, i would've rather paid for the game despite the bugs. Im getting tired of a battlepass and cosmetic shop revenue model. And the other iteams being a new deck to unlock for 500 tick being a new deck would cost about 150 sanvan bucks in the shop, it makes the progression feel arbitrary to complete and slow for no real reward.

If you don't understand game design for consumer psyche for effort and reward I don't know how to explain it. If they want more money to fund this game they need to change the ticks pricing for what iteams they unlock. It's early access meaning the game isn't out. That is supposed to mean they need to take this time to make changes to the game before the release or while there working on it. If the season passes reward don't feel worth completing for someone to payi for it the game will die and lose money. A game company that is aaa does not deserve slack it should be a held to a completely higher standard.

It's basically saying "to unlock all of this, you have to play the game enough, and regularly over the coming months" and they put some numbers on it, because points and credits are things we have and people can understand.

Do I think there should be more ways to earn tix, like getting good lines or sequences in free skating? Yes.
Do I think there should be added more game modes, both solo and multiplayer that should also provide tix? Yes.
Do I think it should be more clear when more opportunities arrive to earn tix? Yes.

But the prices will always be arbitrary. You have to play the game "a certain amount" to unlock stuff, whatever the amount is. This has never in history of gaming been different.

I agree, wholeheartedly the skating to me is very good. It’s like they did not take a 10+ year gap from skate three and came back the next year and didn’t have to rework it from the ground up. The bugs are annoying, too like especially in the beginning of season one where I would want to complete a challenge with friends, but it wouldn’t complete. I just really want those multiplayer game modes, and I want that tutorial island to be accessible.

It's not a bad word, it's bad practice...

multiple currencies in a game usually just overcomplicates things. Instead of feeling like you’re earning meaningful rewards, it starts to feel like you’re managing an economy. Most of the time, it’s done to create friction, you end up needing one type of currency to buy anothere or one is super easy to earn while the “premium” one cannot be achieved by playing normally and real money needs to be spend to get to your goal.

I had this conversation with someone earlier today. I don’t get that point. All items in the pass are priced arbitrarily. There is no logic. That’s because the game is basically saying “just play a lot and you’ll get this stuff”. The numbers don’t mean anything. A lot of tix means a lot of time. The rest of the value is what you assign to it. The fact that people get scared or angry over a big number with a currency symbol, doesn’t change that.

seasonal challenges are meant to supplement regular gameplay. The daily structure this game has. Someone could start maybe a week before the season ends and have no way to finish it.
Also @rare mica they only let you finish the pass if you bought it. And thats only for one extra season. I think its absurd that we cant keep the pass forever if we pay for it. Battlefield 2042, I got the ultimate edition which included 4 battlepasses, which was worthless since I stopped playing after season 2

I was loving the game the first few weeks, and all my friends were extremely excited to play. Now here we are a few weeks after release and I dont have a single friend still playing this game. I would say the game is a mile wide and an inch deep but I think 100 yards wide and an inch deep is a better analogy. I asked this week one when the testers got access, but how's everyone feeling about the game? It bothers me it's considered early access yet we have in game items to buy and a season pass. I fully bought the early access name the first few weeks, but it's apparent this is close to the final product if not final. No core gameplay mechanics will change at this point, and it feels like the "early access" name was slapped on to make EA and Dice feel better for releasing a underbaked product. Also slapping the "early access" title gives the brown nosers the ability to say "well it's not finished yet" or "save thoughts for the final product." Boys this is the final product.

That’s a fair perspective. The nostalgia definitely makes the gameplay feel right, but I agree there’s way more to Skate than just the mechanics.

That said, there actually is a new story in the works, the community’s effort to reclaim and rebuild San Van after M-Corp was forced out. And honestly, that theme fits what’s happening right now in real life too.

All these different crews and skaters coming together, building events, hosting meetups, creating clips, that is the story unfolding. We’re rebuilding the heart of Skate ourselves and bringing back the community driven core that made the series special in the first place.
