Honestly my biggest hope is that the way the game looked in the end of the "Still Working on it" trailer from 3 years back is how full release is gonna look. It's definitely what you (and a lot of others) are asking for and more in line with the skate franchise aesthetic. Fair point. I believe they call gameplay like that a "vertical slice" which is basically just one small section of the game map that's polished and completely finished to show off what the final product is supposed to look like. I just can't help but be a lil skeptical cause again, it's EA. But, as long as it looks like that in the end I'm happy. Even if not, it's whatever. I'm sitting at 400 hours since getting in the playtest this March and won't be stopping any time soon

Can't really explain in controller notation without doing it but you just need to learn how to consistently nose tailbone grab or whatever the tail grab is called in-game and after that press square/X I think. Nollie and regular Benihanas are a staple for me at this point

Could it be that the grinding in this game is extremely bad, and so are the jumps onto the grind?

I'm having massive problems even though I'm using the standard beginner setup with 70 grind assist and maximum jump height when you press R up, so it can't be the height of the jump, nor can it be the alignment due to the massive grind assist.

My problem is that I often bump into the grind instead of jumping onto it. It's hard to estimate when to jump (distance to the grind object).

The next problem is one I've never had this extreme in skate games. Once I'm on the grind, I can barely make any movement without the skater falling or sliding off the grind.

In other games, once I'm on the grind object, I can do a lot of tricks and grind with the nose and tail. Here, you fall off too often. I also noticed that sometimes I just bump into a bump on the grind, even though it's smooth, as if there were an invisible bump.

Grinding is much less fun and much less user-friendly here. Strangely, it wasn't as extreme at first, but the only thing I changed was the onboard FOV from 95 to 70 and an offset of 3.

There's a spot in Gullcrest near the canal like this that a friend and I hit up every so often. Use a boned ollie off the ledge and hold it thru the air. You'll have to use your left stick to slightly rotate your body but not too far. If you do it right you should hit a Noseslide on the rail. Maybe taking the same approach will help you?
