and the fact that all of the feedback is now storming full circles way, and its "earlier" in development is good, cause it means changes can be made, had we been 2 weeks away from the full release, it wouldve been- not as good, but we're months away from the early access game, and even further away from the full release, so full circle has time to now take in what people have been saying is bad, needs to be changed etc. and implement the fixes, upgrades and changes with time in the early access etc. etc.

Playtesters feedback would've been enough they are the ones playing and experiencing the current build of the game, most people just hate on the art style and just the art style i get it it doesn't look very good atm but it's a pre-alpha everything could change. I still like the physics and the overall vibe of the map .

it could change yea, but when all testing footage on yt from skate had no graphics etc. people werent commenting on it, now that the first artstyle and shaders have been applied, people speak out that it doesnt look good, without that feedback from the general public the game wont succeed, games need to appeal to a huge audience

and yeah testers have prob given feedback, but as far as i could read in the grind vol 4, is that, the thing players are testing atm, is the same game version (a new update with grahics etc.) as the creators and therefore meaning, testers havent been able to give feedback on the artstyle truly before now ALONG with the public

so its an overall wave of feedback, thoughts, critisisms and stuff they nailed being sent full circles way to help them make the game the best it can?

I'm honestly excited to see how the map will evolve over time. Imagine if they did a call back to Skate 2 with an earthquake or something? That would give them an excuse to make some new, fresh spots on the map like they did with that game.

Skate 1 - Fun game. I like the map, it feels like the most realistic of the franchise. I love the challenges, the S.K.A.T.E. games with the pros is hella fun (Get murked, Jerry!)

Skate 2 - In my opinion, the best of the franchise. New San Van is amazing, the new additions are stellar. I could care less about the board sponsors (Rest in peace, Enjoi, my beloved), but the entire game is a huge step up from the first.

Skate 3 - I get it, Skate 3 is awesome. Better than 1 and 2? Hardly. Not only is the art style less rugged, but Port Carverton doesn't even feel like a real city, especially with it's districts. The skate.Park feature is great, and so is the idea of making your own skate company! But even these are flawed. You only get 3 or 4 skate.Park templates, the skate company thing is great if you like customizing characters, but I'd prefer the option to deck out your roster with a bunch of pros. As much as I like doing huge gaps and fast downhills, this is the most unrealistic of the franchise and, in my opinion, the weakest. Hell, I spend most of my Skate 3 time nowadays in normal difficulty, low camera angle, and in the San Van Party Pack map.

the reason im so critical of the artstyle

You don’t really use buttons. The analog stick is what’s primarily used

usually through steam u can make a controls preset linking keyboard and mouse buttons to different controller buttons making u able to play with KBM at times, but for a game like skate that feature sticks it prob wouldnt work to well

cause the flick it system uses different angles on the sticks and rotations to be trick inputs, where, u cant rlly do much about that, like u cant make the mouse have that option, u cant bind it to buttons etc.

but the overall feel of the skate games, and the way people describe the skate gameplay itself, is that, its the most smooth skating experience in a skating game ever- so thats what ive kinda gathered from the skate concil member videos and my own knowledge etc. etc.

the devs basically nuked their entire community server to minimize backlast, lied about coming updates just to then make new promises cause they couldnt keep up with first ones they made, firing every animator within 2 weeks from their studio, even after announcing that they were hired

like theres alot of issues around session and xl, and ive got 1000's of hours on both (sadly)

i had so much faith in them (i was a player before the alpha release, back when session still had skate 3 controls as an option)

but again i say this as a dissapointed skateboarding fan more than a game reviewer
