Suggestion - Introduction of /ping command

Why: Having a ping command not only allows more people to see the connection speed of the bot, but also can help the InterChat bot notify active chatting servers of high ping after it reaches a certain threshold. This could assist in identifying when the bot is struggling with large amounts of data (possibly from a bug or server error), and when discord might have an impending crash.

QoL adjustments - Reactions and Editing

As it is currently implemented, I find that working with the edit system can be a little frustrating. On one hand, it brings awareness to your bot by providing a reason to vote, but on the other, you can only edit messages through the use of the app. What I suggest is that in the place of the edit button, use an update message button that way it doesn't strain InterChat with keeping track of every message and editing can still be done the normal way.
For Reactions, I think they are well done, but seeing who reacted to my messages would be nice quality of life change. Some people may be able to react inappropriately with NSFW emojis and there might not be a way to identify and report who did if users can't see who.

Cheers mate. Keep up the good work!

  1. You can already view the ping with the /stats command. Do you think a separate /ping command would still be necessary, or is /stats enough?

  2. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the "Update message button." Could you elaborate a bit more on that?

  3. I love the suggestion about seeing who reacted to messages! I'll consider adding that in the v4 release or afterward.

Cheers, and thanks again for the support NomNom

  1. I guess I would change my suggestion from "/ping" to just automatically notifying active servers of when the bot is experiencing high ping. I was not aware of the stats command though, but it's cool.

  2. Update message would just have the bot run a check to see if the message underwent any changes instead of constantly checking every message. Currently, if I edit using the app, it only edits the message server-side (everyone else's servers) and not client-side (my server). If I could edit the physical message I sent within my server and then "update" the message, it might be a smoother transition

  3. Cool!
