when ntw 2
The first sea battle, seeing all those cannons broadside shooting. Just... masterpiece
i think i'd be happy if they just optimized it
Watching the world be unable to do anything because as the pirates I am raiding all their trade and keep sinking and stealing their ships
When I drove out the Europeans as the Cherokee and build a Native American Empire. Was brutal but that late tech tried was pretty effective against their line infantry so worth the grind and early game guerilla tactics. Tecumseh would have been proud.
in NTW:
one of my best memory was a grapeshot firing (aimed at ambushed troops) to a tree and one of the bullet came back directly to my general behind the canons who fired it
=> the general died, it was in a multiplayer roleplay campaign ! (so much memories of my numerous multiplayer roleplays 😮 )
Playing empire total war and screaming at my computer for the infantry to start shooting. they didn't start until the ai crossed the map and were upon my troops.
Just the vibes. The music, the campaign map and the sounds. It feels really nice to just idle and get immersed in the game's era.
And we all know everyone’s favourite is when the artillery batteries Aim side ways and blast apart the other three artillery in the battery 😂
conquering all of europe in my first campaign in napoleon total war
This and and seeing all the soldiers inside the ships, also the first time I've seen a land battle and its scale and all the soldiers, my mind was blowing
I want Empire back 🙃
Me2. The more I think of it the more I prefer an Empire 2 to Medieval 3 right now
First sea battle I zoomed so much in the cannons for immersion I almost got deaf 😂 was having a blast seeing so many cannons shooting
Napoleonic era should just be put in ETW2 if it ever comes out
The scale is kinda small
At one point in Napoleon I defended a city map and put a cannon battery down the main street and when the enemy marched in I blasted them with grapeshot
It was nasty
Single player Battles where I lost entire army and waited for their army to get close to my arty to grapeshot them all and win 😂 so many times
But yeah anyways enemies were grouping up for some reason and my battery was all ready
Almost 1/3 of them were sent flying through air and somehow most of them got up
When they announced Medieval 2
When i had 2 rocket ships decimating an british fleet. by setting their sails on fire in the first salvo. And everything exploding. Including their admiral.
Taking over every province then causing a rebellion just to force them into one city and kill them with a full army of just mortars, then hitting enter until the year was 2025. We need ETW2
favorite memory is the chat
This guy gets it ☝️
Playing ntw multiplayer and my opponent camps a hill with GB 20 infantry
I remember that when I played for the first time, i went straight to play with Morocco. It was very fun but also quite difficult, they really have a crappy roster. Fighting with the europeans was a huge pain. I remember a couple of invasions i suffered from Britain and Prussia and I almost not made it. I had to use many close quarter infantry to compensate the crappy muskets they had. And at the end, I modded my own reforms, and created a precarious line infantry modded and "stated" after the turkish isarelys. I enjoyed that campaign a lot, and it introduced me to the new "age" of modding that came with the new engine.
Playing as Marathas in Empire TW, I had a smaller force with a General get attacked by early game Mughal army. Also had a larger force reinforcing my army. Went to manual battle and the enemy force spawned between my 2 armies, closer to my weaker force.
Now, Maratha Generals ride elephants and elephants charges result in stomping kills. So my General ended up solo stomping about 9 Mughal infantry units before the reinforcements reached and won the day.
This battle made the rest of the Mughal eradication campaign much easier.
what chat?
Empire was the second TW game I've ever played. Fondest memory is probably the first time I unlocked the Mughals and conquered all of India with them, plus the commercial empire I built on the colonies. I think I was making 20k+ a turn by the end of the campaign.
Just thinking of all the Empires I've made over the years...
A British Empire waging war on Europe, aiming to conquer France and Germany.
An Inuit Empire that had managed to swallow up the whole Eastern Seaboard.
A Greek Empire, well on its way to fighting better and farther than Alexander ever had.
13 Colonies, conquering all of the Americas... and then buying their independence from Britain.
A Mexican Kingdom, revenging Spain turning to a Republic, ready to land troops on the mainland.
In the Imperial Destroyer mod, I was playing Wallachia, and managed to liberate Russia from Sweden, taking the whole country and turning Russia into my vassals.
I took little Hesse, and United the whole of Germany and Poland...
As the Sikh state, I became a republic, conquered India, then Afganistan, and was invading Russia, the Caucasus... armies of Sikh warriors were in even far-off Finland.
Not once did I win these campaigns though. Just yesterday, I actually won my very first campaign. Courland, world domination victory. I had colonies in the Caribbean, across Florida and Louisiana, into Mysore and Bengal, North Africa, and the entirety of the Brazil and Gold Coast trade theaters.
Maybe it's just fresh... but, I think that's my best memory. I'd never won Empire before.
I've logged over 2000 hours between Empire and Napoleon. Currently on a habsburg kick
Having my first rate ship of the line, almost die to a pirate fleet cause of their galleons. And then the very next battle after I fixed the ship, the French got one shot into my first rate and it went up like the Fourth of July
Empire was the first tw game i saw, i was looking for AOE3 and i couldn't believe the graphics and that it was a game, recently i did a USA campaing and the ai really surprised me.
Invading India as Brtiain in my first Empire campaign and decimating them with artillery and grenadiers (Empire was also my first Total war game so this is extra nostalgic)
Oh yeah, forgot about my mega Polish Empire, from Europe to the Americas. Probably my first successful campaign in a TW
The gun unit combat overall is my favorite, as well as the era and factions it covers. I really do wish the co-op was sorted out for Empire because it would have made it my all-time favorite if it were.
The gun powder units in Shogun 2 FOTS are still fun to play co-op, but an Empire 2 with modern quality of life features would really, really scratch that itch.
I had built an army to take England. I took my French army under Marshall Ney, but the difficulty was the garrison in London. The English sent an army, but in the end I think I was defeated
