#Happy Video Games Day! We love video

Because I sadly can't have gigantic mechs in real life for the price of 5 minutes of gathering
They engage my brain in delightful ways, i love strategy and roleplaying games in particular.
To reset the mind from a long day at work (which is also making games), relax and have that escapism that comes mainly with single player games. Or if I want to destory some orks, play the Dawi on TWW3
Mainly because my brothers got me into it. I thought I could become good at them to play with them, but they were 10+ years older so it did not happen.
Regardless, now I play for myself, to get away from a real world, and I discovered I enjoy helping others play even more than playing myself.
I can definitely see a future of playing with my kids and I am all up for it
Escapism and experiencing stories and situations I wouldn't not be able to in real life.
Video games offer a way to immerse you into a fantastical world like no other media can.
To hunt monsters in Monster Hunter and be monsters in Total War Warhammer
They let me escape reality and live other thousand lives
because i love to play . any games , for me PCs are gaming machines foremost
To get more resume experience as a genocidal warlord (yes-yes)
My favourite way of unwinding after a long day, forget the glass of whiskey, I'll grab the thunderhammer in Space Marine 2.
Maybe CA shouldn't have destroyed Total War Three Kingdoms.
Maybe you should share the Remake Details?
Or has it been cancelled for a second time?
As someone with autism and social anxiety they're a big source of escapism for me! I can immerse myself in a world or setting without worrying about stuff. 😄
Same!
I don't play Total War Warhammer anywhere near as much as I did with the 1st & 2nd Total War Warhammers though.
Warhammer 3 has just been a really big miss for me and I'm still waiting for it to reach the heights it should have reached.
I'll definitely be playing WH3 when I get home
Because they allow us to do stuff we can't do in real life.
Also, frankly, games connect us people together in a lot of different ways and that is both outside and inside the games.
We can fight, we can cooperate, we can agree and disagree. We can get frustrated at stuff not being done the way we obviously see it should be done but we can also have praise for work well done or at least recognize the effort that the people behind those games are trying to put to improve the experience. (even if again, such improvement is often subjective and for everything changed there will always be folks that think that the previous TW or even the previous patch did things better - I'm no stranger to this)
All in all why I'll never stop nagging CA about improving the older games too.
Watching lord of the rings when I was very young and seeing those massive battles happening was the best feeling. Total War games are the closest i'll get to replicating that feeling and creating my own stories and battles on a similar scale. My love for history and fantasy has also helped. For this I want to really thank you for giving us this opportunity of either living in a fantasy world or reliving the past in the forms of a massive campaign map and battle map filled with battles on a massive scale. While others like to play these games on a more competitive and challenging level, I personally prefer to casually play, create and then watch my battles unfold, which sometimes is better than watching any movie, because it's my movie. Thank you again!
It inspires me to make art
Also I get to commit war crimes en masse without consequence
I get to do thing I can’t do in real life without consequences
I've been summoned
U just said exactly my Reason too lol
i think age of empires can get pretty close to total war in scale depending how many units are on screen but it's played from a totally different camera angle
you really need that cinematic camera which tw excells at
I don't really think AoE will ever go to 20K units
that size can also double if you mod the game hehe
