CA Official Polls Channel

With the introduction of the new poll feature on discord, it would be nice to set up a new official channel making use of it.

It should be operated exclusively by the CA staff, where they ask for players feedback on a broad scale about upcoming content, state of the game, or even goofier stuff (like which pharaoh has the best hat or who's the best Warhammer chef).

They could be issued each week as a set of polls that generally try to gauge the general opinion of the community at the time.

For reference from an other server, this is what it could look like.

I would say this would be a boon. For community engagement. It could be serious polls. Like features ect. It could also be silly polls. Like who wears the best smile in warhammer

i think its a great idea. it would really engage the community - half the discord servers i am only on gor the polls

I'm not so sure about this. Community engagement is great, but it's also a bit of a double edged sword. Polls can quickly devolve into arguments and the wording of a poll can effect its results and peoples expectations.

I also wouldn't want to end up in a situation where people were expecting design decisions to be made based solely on poll results. We players may think we know best, but that doesn't mean we do, and just because something is popular doesn't mean it's a good idea.

In my experience design by committee rarely ends well.

I mean, people wouldn't be allowed to comment in the poll channel. Nor react to posts made in it.

That would help mitigate it, though as @molten cosmos said it could spill over onto other channels.

I'm not opposed to the idea, just saying there could be drawbacks too.

It doesn't have to be about game development it could just be simple things like this. I personally don't think it should be about what you would prefer in game, rather what you liked about the game

stuff like that doesn't need to be managed by the CA and the booster role should let you make polls

Letting only booster roles post polls would be EXTREMELY elitist and could lead to easy abuse.

I know this was requested a long time ago, but we are actually looking into this and how we can use it smartly and align it with our other channels rather than just smashing it out without a plan 😄 maybe we should just give Krooza free reign? Actually.... no
