16awg cabling, coloured paracord for sleeving, atx connectors + pins and a crimping tool. It's pretty easy to do
(and a $10 power supply tester to make sure the pinout is correct before you accidentally fry something lol)
Wow, gorgeous
I need a cuter keyboard, confirmed.
moar monitor
I love that keyboard.
Damn, that's a lot of monitor real estate 😮 A high-end setup from top to bottom, well executed 👏
Whoa what an awesome setup & pc!!
Random question: is the text very difficult to read at that distance and size?
I recently got a bigger 27 inch monitor with a higher res and the text is a bit smaller than I am used to.
Not fancy, but computer games plus nerd projects always 🔥
what game is that i must acquire it immediatel y
Timberborn! Factorio but with beavers
The monitors are closer than they appear in the first pic since it was taken from a few feet back from where you'd sit. I also use 125% dpi scaling, so that help with text readability. The two main monitors are both 3440x1440 as well so the extra sharpness helps.
gleam setup spotted at the local ikea
College student bed/desk polymorphism
non college student bed/desk polymorphism (not pictured)
Cool view
Ha, rip
So many lanes 😱
Fr, you can almost see the haze of carbon emissions floating towards the sky lol
Is this in Texas
Nah, Atlanta (Georgia, USA)
Just spotted this thread, so mandatory desk pic contribution:

Yaaaasssss
two dualups?!
Yup! Absolutely fantastic monitors, very happy with the purchase - bought one to try and absolutely loved it, bought a second as soon as they went on sale again
If I only used my setup for productivity I would probably go for that monitor setup, but since I use mine for gaming as well I went with dual 34" ultrawides stacked vertically. It ends up being about the same size and aspect ratio as that
I had a similar setup for several years, had a 29 inch and 25 inch ultrawide stacked on top of each other. Got rid of it when I first got an M1 MacBook which could only use one external monitor. These days I do all my gaming on a TV, so I didn’t need to worry about gaming usage when switching back to dual monitors
I wish my desk were that clean
It’s because I just swapped it for a different one lol
Usually it’s stacked crazy high with stuff
well, you got me to tidy my desk, so thanks
(my desk faces the rest of my untidy apartment, so no photos)
Thinking of adding back a second monitor but quite liking the clean single monitor setup!
(Little gadget under monitor stand is a displayport switch that switches between my Mac mini (work/dev) and gaming pc)
I had one, the best ratio, but my eyes suffered terribly because of poor PWM implementation. I changed to NEC 27" and no pain in eyes or headache
I bought my new desk yesterday and it's 180cm by 76cm and I'm so excited
Gonna have sooo much more space
Mostly for snacks
MIne is 160x80 and I absolutely love it
My current one is 140x40 and it's just not deep enough
It's also homemade and wobbly as shit
The one in my pic is 80cm deep - love it!
new house new setup (well... same but in a different house)
the left monitor is off because my little usb hub is being silly
also if anyone is curious, the tigger is older than me (1999 vs 2002)
missing off to the right is a lava lamp that hasn't been used in a while so not very photogenic
Grogu!
Yeee, it moves!!
Adorable
If you lay him on his back he shuts his eyes and goes to sleep
Need
if you tap him on the head he does a few different things
I'm pretty sure I had that exact one growing up
I had the same thing as well, just not this exact one
Actually I think I'm misremembering and it was my brother who did... this may be a good birthday present if I can find one
The one I've got now was a christmas present from my mum 😄
God-level cable management here
I respect this
fuck thats good
fun tip: don't use electrical tape, it likes to deform
i shoulda taken a pic of how slanted it was before i added the masking tape
that's pretty much how I did it at home except with velcro
ooooo smart
hey, easy access
I've bought a pack of these for that and its pretty good ! https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B0BTBJ3VS3?th=1&language=en_GB
Oh hey those are slick
I have so much things fixed with these under my desk 😄 ethernet switch, audio card, raspi and power strips
i wanna get a little mount fo my mac studio once i move
Oh that is real nice
Is making a hackintosh reliable in 2024? I remember doing it a few years ago but it took hours and then it just crashed a lot so I switched back
I'm not using hackintosh right now, it's windows 10 with the "MyDockFinder" app, very accurate recreation of MacOS interface
woah never knew this existed
