Hey y'all, I've recently realized that my room is lowkey a hazard from how much dust is constantly in the air and it's affecting my sleep 😭 Plus it's awful for my babies. A new layer of dust settles on my furniture literally overnight, it's crazy.

Kaytee is extremely dusty. I'm hoping for alternatives that will still allow burrowing and a happy ham while letting me actually breathe. Less dusty paper, alternative beddings, whatever works, just has to have a focus on being as dust-free as possible. Thank you!

I've considered aspen, crinkle paper, coco coir, hay, all of that fun stuff, whatever works.

I always like to recommend FullCheeks brand bedding, that is the Petsmart brand!

Also I highly recommend an air purifier, I got mine on Amazon for $30 and then just bought some extra filters to switch out. It actually really helps reduce dust, and has helped my allergy to my hamsters!

Thank you love!! I stole my brother but it's full and replacement filters are $60😭 scared it'll fill up too soon. But they're being shipped!

All the things Hux said. Another good brand is Oxbow which is sold at Petco. Make sure you get the plain versions not the ones with "odor control" gimmicks.

I used a bag of Kaytee white bedding when I first started into hamster keeping and it was AWFUL and the worst dusty bedding I experienced without having something else to compare it to. I think it depends on the region, some folks love it but there's lots of complaints about dust in that brand of white bedding.

Lastly, could you vacuum the filter some in the air purifier?

# unique mauve Hey y'all, I've recently realized that my room is lowkey a hazard from how much ...

I have had a lot of experience with paper bedding and from what I've noticed, for some weird reasons bigger bags of the same bedding is less dusty. Like, I bough smallest and biggest bags of white UBER bedding, small one was semi dusty and the 170l was absolutely no dust. I can hands down recommend UBER bedding, I recently switched to mostly white to spot pee clumps more easily and I've heard that white bedding is the most dusty out of all the options. From your roles I see that you're from the US, check your local walmart if they sell UBER. https://www.walmart.com/ip/PetsPick-Uber-Soft-Paper-Pet-Bedding-for-Small-Animals-White-56L/300679748?classType=REGULAR
