#Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Firmware will not update

Hey @meager pendant have you fixed this situation? I've got the same problem
I actually did. Sorry, should've come in here. Make sure both devices are plugged into the Motherboard USB-A ports (it failed when I had it in C, but it may have been okay to use because of something else) and ensure the headset is ON. I had it in dongle only mode also.
Once you do that, go to the firmware updater, extract the file first, don't just double click it, actually extract it (win 11 should have the ability to extract it as soon as you right click.) and then after it's extracted, right click it again (on the extracted application) and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
As soon as I did all of that, worked like a charm, went right through.
Make sure NGenuity is completely closed also, like kill it in Task manager if you have to.
Also don't use both the beta and old NGenuity, only the beta. It interferes if you have both up and running even just during basic usage.
Hope that helps! If not let me know, but that did it for me so hopefully it does.
I really appreciate your quick and thorough response! I’m glad you figured it out. I’m not sure which step made the difference, but my device updated successfully as well. Thank you very much for your help! I was quite frustrated after investing so much money in something that relies on beta software and couldn’t even update properly.
It's been an adjustment to get used to that headset. But I like it a lot now that I've understood how to set it up and use the 8 channel sound system. Glad what I said solved the issues tho!
Yeah, i'll need to take the time to look into that haha, seems like a lot to figure out and so far I'm not really impressed with the sound compared to my years old Cloud II
I can help if you need it it took me a few tries to get it all set the way I like it now.
Would you be able to screenshot your settings for me and forward it here or in DM? 🙂
@meager pendant i seen you use these too I've shot you a dm asking for help as I'm at wits end 😭
Why can't you adjust headset volume through Win 11 volume slider?
The volume is adjustable using the on headset volume wheel, or the dial on the included desk dongle. It's basically a base station. But the dial has multiple functions selected by the buttons below it
For whatever reason, the default way the system does that is to have the PC volume stuck at 100% and adjusted only by the station and headset
Yeah that was super jarring the PC volume is always stuck at 100%
