Yeah sure.

Which games does it work in? I'm only using the app for league of legends and play ranked and aram. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't. How many games does it work in? About a third of them.

which overlay feature are you using? - Generally the gold comparison and the ARAM augment feature. When it works it works, when it doesn't the entire overlay fails to load. I also used to use the live game on the non-overlay app to scout teams in loading, but that screen generally stays on loading for the entire game then skips to the post-game. The "live game" feature in the app fails to work 80-90% of the time for me.

Best guess, there may be an issue with the app detecting the game client on the new patch. This isn't the first time this has happened for me, but it's worse now than it's ever been.

The overlay failing to load can occasionally happen, but the frequency you’re describing doesn’t seem normal.

We’re currently working on improvements related to the overlay, and once an update is released, we’ll reach out again to check whether the issue persists. However, it may take a little more time before everything is fully completed, so we kindly ask for your patience in the meantime.

As for the Live Game feature, I’ll personally test it by playing ARAM (especially the mayhem mode) to see if the issue can be reproduced. If we’re able to confirm a problem, I’ll provide further updates.

I’ve tested several ARAM (Mayhem mode) games myself.
The Live Game feature includes the following pages:

• OP.GG Pick
• Quickplay
• Multi-search
• Champion Pick
• In-game Info
• My Performance
  Could you let me know which specific page is not working properly for you?

From my testing, Multi-search and Champion Pick are working almost 100% of the time.
For In-game Info, the most common issue I experienced was that it didn’t appear immediately when the game started. In some cases, it even displayed information from the previous match.

For reference:

1. OP.GG Pick is always open by default.
2. Quickplay only works in Quickplay mode.
3. My Performance only appears after the game has fully ended,
   so I’ve excluded that from this discussion.

Hey, NP, will attempt to clarify:

Specifically, what happens is that I go thru rune selection after champ select and then we go into the Live->In Game Info page, and that stays on the loading screen for the entire game.
Separate from that, sometimes the overlays just don't load in and no amount of fiddling with it will make the overlays load in.

Honestly I don't really use the other pages all that much, and I couldn't even tell you what most of them do as I mostly use the client for easy runes and in special gamemodes augment selections.

What it feels like is that the opgg client is not able to connect to the league game client, and therefore is not able to pull the info on players in lobby, and also is unable to load overlays for the game. Maybe this isn't how it works, but this is my conjecture from what it /seems like/ is happening. While this issue is worse on the current patch, this isn't an isolated incident and has been happening for a long while. It does seem to be less problematic since I initially posted about it, but does still happen about 20% of my games.

From what I understand, you’re mainly experiencing issues where the Live Game feature — especially the In-game Info page — doesn’t load properly, and sometimes the overlays don’t load at all.

These two issues are actually feedback we’ve received occasionally in the past as well.

One related factor could be the “Reconnect” message that sometimes appears when a League game starts. When that happens, there’s a high chance that our overlay may fail to attach properly to the game. We are currently looking into possible improvements regarding this, but it may take some time.

As mentioned earlier, we’re also working on major improvements to the overlay system overall. We’re hoping that once these updates are released, the issue with overlays not loading will improve at least to some extent. (At the moment, we don’t have an exact timeline for the update.)

Regarding the In-game Info page not functioning properly, I’ll look into it further and share the feedback with our developers to request improvements.

I tried Run as Administrator, adding OP.GG to Windows Security exclusions, reinstalling the app, and changing the display mode to Borderless/Windowed, but nothing worked. I'm on Windows 11. When I restart my PC and then restart League of Legends and the op.gg app, everything displays correctly and loads in the first game. But in all other games, op.gg doesn't load in-game and seems to freeze.

This happens especially when the loading screen is extremely fast and you're in the game very quickly... I think op.gg doesn't have time to load everything properly.

Is there any way to fix this?

You can enable it by going to LoL page → Overlay page → Real-Time Stats Overlay in the app settings.

This should be in feedback suggestions but to just piggy back off of this:

I think while releasing the software to the public ASAP is a valid choice, I think that in order to maintain a solid base, the program should be able to meet the basic demands of players that they usually get from the other programs, but in a way that essentially does it better/is more efficient than what they are already used to.

First impressions are extremely important imo when it comes to establishing a solid base in an environment that already has established brands that people are already familiar with. The reason why some programs are barely talked about vs. the ones that seem to be front runners is based on how well executed it was on public release, regardless on how it has improved since release, just based on my own observations.

Besides that, we can look at real world marketing and brand competition to see how much it really matters (minus the cost factor, because it's all free/freemium in this case.) Usually the pattern is as follows in terms of what's successful:

The First: Looks good, easy to use, fills most of the demand due to lack of competition.

The Copycats: Does the basics of The First. Maybe it has some things The First doesn't have, and/or it improved on some things. But it's not really that much better to jump ship for the hassle of getting out of one's comfort zone.

The Innovator: The first real competition to The First, because it's not just a carbon copy with some changes to avoid copyright, it's the "game-changer" of the market that has a different fundamental build that appeals to a general audience, as well as a more niche one.

Think about things like:
-eBay vs. Amazon (with Craigslist somewhat jumping in.)
-Starbucks vs. Peetz/Phil's/etc.
-Cable On-Demand vs. Netflix (and now everything from Disney to minor tv brands attempting to do the same.)
-Apple vs. Android (Samsung, Google, all of the other smaller brands in between.)
-Every car/motor manufacturing company vs. Tesla/Other upcoming electricity based options like Nikola.

Brand Loyalty takes care of everything after that.

TLDR; It's best to make sure the software is really really good, even for open beta, because once established as good as main competitor/better > once established as bad/buggy/copy, harder to get people to switch and stay. OPGG is essentially a household name in the League scene, so it will garner a lot of attention, bad and good.

In terms of keeping a loyal/steady base after the initial hype, that is it's own long step but basically:
-Listen to the community
-Fix things that need to be fixed ASAP
-Slow changes/improvements to not overwhelm/gauge audience

All of this is just IMO, feel free to disregard if warranted.

the jungle overlay shows timers on the jungle monster, like, how much till they respawn

and the skillorder overlay shows exactly which ablitities you should upgrade next

if you could implement it, that would be absolutely awesome

and its a neat one

also having an overlay for the client telling you which counters you should ban would be absolutely perfect
