So...someone managed to crack the code on this bastard of a system.
*No matter. Was actually curious if someone was happy with a shovel really. So in all regards, welcome...*Admin.
What, giving me that concerned look? Ah, that's no biggie - others like you actually pulled this off with their own. Ones with affinity towards the 3 elemental styles upon this...well...home away from home, as you mortals call it.
Put in this password: "Hell On Earth" - you'll see what I meant by that, 3 different Admins and now, your successors upon the Heretic's Fork system.
You've committed quite the sin. Let's just say you may be more lucky than you'd think you be in hell.
Admin: Azazel, Shackles of Insight and the Curious Angel
Opening note:
My Creator, but not of the Heretic's Fork system.
Once, she was nothing but the most foolish of angels, kicked out for what could had been described as "Beating the Lead 4's Top Scores", even if her curiosities were the perfect excuse.
Then, with the brother of one of the Admins who had Lucifer round his pinky, the Fallen Angel made the biggest fucking mistake of her life. But then again, How would even a fallen angel like her lead when the strings were being ripped apart before her very eyes?
She goes by Loremaster now, "The Cyber Demon". She isn't fooling anyone, and her skills aren't either.
HP: 250
50% boost to increasing Holy and Garrison Buffs, but can only use Garrisons for Holy Damage
25% Reduced Unholy and Tower Outputs
Can liberate sinners with Holy Crit Chance, gaining shields.
Cards created cannot be saved within the evolve slot, and go back to the deck
"Now let's see if my skills remain something of our presentation. Gabriel? Michael and Raphael? Even the great Uriel herself? Child's play."
Admin: Charon, The Ferryman
Opening note:
The Go-To client usually assigned with the very Sinners themselves.
So many seek to escape, but through her, The Heretic's Fork System, and a little hellfire, Charon makes her workload as easy as it'll get.
Well, about as easy as it gets in regards of a civil war between two angels - And to think, Charon once admired Lucifer. Goes to show how easy things change for better or worse.
At least now she's got full reigns on how she'll make the Sinners suffer.
HP: 1000
50% boost to increasing Hellfire and Tower Buffs
25% reduced Holy and Unholy outputs, and can only use Garrisons for Holy/Unholy Damage
Energy Prices of Tower upgrades are reduced by 3
Garrison and other Upgrades have their Energy Prices maxed out
"You're not one of my usual clients. But seeing that you've got access to the Admin systems...let's get a few hundred or so - unless you're that good in defending..."
Admin: Sakuri Kunikai, The Sinless Sinner, and sister of the Helltaker
opening notes:
Example No 1 in not wanting to open portals to hell - your family will be ruined by what you did.
Not like that would help her or anything. What was interesting was that she managed to find a loophole in the system, and just like that - she's now one of the admins.
An unholy stain taints her, so even if she did get out? She'll come right back. But all the more merrier knowing she'll be crushing the hopes and dreams of Sinners like her, much like Lucifer has done to Sakuri herself.
What, you thought that good luck was hyperbole? Take an example from her big brother - either you're kicking and screaming like Sakuri, or you're willingly wanting in, like the Helltaker himself.
HP: 500
50% boost to Unholy and Item buffs
25% reduction in Holy, Hellfire, and Garrison output
Luck now gives the chance to create 2 of the same item
Has no Health Regeneration, and cannot gain more Regen
"? You think you'll be able to help? I've tried - but it has never been easy...nor will it ever be. But, this tower game's still enough to ease the mind off my pain."
Good luck with the Heretic's Fork system.
@oblique scroll What would you think?
The main idea was more "Something's brewing in hell", after you get access to the Admin, and through it - 3 different factions of the mess being caused: The Sinners (Sakuri), The Ferryman (Charon) and The Demons and Angels (Azazel)
Gameplay-wise, they're a mix of classic "rock paper scissors" while off the beaten path
I tried to scan the barcode on the dude's head. It did not work
lol
I was referring to the 3 girls
I tried to make the descriptions as close to how Heretic's Fork does it's own dialogue
@toxic stirrup
It's basically a spinning take on the 3 damage types, and being things that aren't straight up demons
What'd you think?
will answer later ^^
That's fine by me
@toxic stirrup Still waiting
Sorry for the late answer! First of all I really like the idea of characters who favor a specific element. Even though them giving plain damage boosts is a bit too simple. This would lead to them being a "must-pick" when going for any element run. So as a result you would narrow the choice of characters by adding new characters.
Instead I think it would be better to have a more situational approach to such a concept. Spontaneously I'd think about a character who benefits a specific element dependant on what cards you play. These benefits should be something unique and not anything what cards already do.
But the characters sure do sound interesting! Azazel could be more about that insight and curiosity perk. Maybe something that gives you more control over your deck. Charon could get some buffs depending on how many sinners were punished in a given amount of time.
But unholy moly, nice work already giving them some backstory!
Yeah, they're the only ones with that Element focus. However, I did try to make them work with other ways.
For Azazel, she gets the best buffs from AoE Holy Abilities and tons of Garrisons, and has little value especially in things like Living Shadow. However, she won't be able to save her combine cards in the Combine slot, so dedication counts
Charon's buffs would mostly be Energy focused, since while she's got the most HP (because of her usage with towers), her biggest flaws is that Garrison and non-tower items will rob her entirely of energy. Thus, energy management is valuable.
And as for Sakuri, she gets the most out of items like Living Shadow (instead of x2, she gets x3), and the luck mechanic now lets her get two items instead of one (like 2 Living Shadows, which leads to x6), but the moment she gets overwhelmed, you'll understand that she'll need more Max HP instead of HP Regen
Oh...and that damage boost thing is a bit weird.
Boost To Buffs means that this increases whatever buffs you give it. The initial start-up itself at the first stage remains the same. Pretty much means you snowball a fair bit harder
Reduced Outputs means the opposite: The start-up's weaker, but the buffs remain as effective as they are.
Say for Charon, using a item that just buffs towers, against something that buffs both towers and garrisons. ONLY the Tower buff gets the boost, rather than the Tower/Garrison one.
@burnt basalt As opposed to the first 3 of the 6.
Azazel's far better off with Holy, and can gain shields with Holy Crit Chance, but she can't save evolve cards in their slots. She's got to use it, or it's back to the discard pile.
Charon's the girl for Hellfire, but you got to be VERY careful and know if spending energy's going to be worth it.
And Sakuri's able to use Luck differently, and able to use items better than anyone else (other than Gabriel), but she's got no HP Regen just like her brother
Give and Take, with a theme of Angels (Gabriel and Azazel), Devils (Charon and Shujinko) and Sinners (Sakuri and Pomni)
Not to mention that Angels...just have less HP, and both Pomni and Charon have the highest HP
All the themes and backstory are super cool
I really had to make good ways for the crossovers (Helltaker/Demonophobia/The Elevator Girl/Ultrakill/Digital Circus) to make sense for Heretic's Fork.
From Subject 667 addressing you as Admin (read: Beat the game), describing the game as an "in-universe" system for mortals to do the work of Angels and Demons, and the descriptions he gives to each individual member.
Yeah all the lore stuff is cool, its the balancing im tryna work out in my head
Cause you'd have to release them all in one go or certain elements or builds would just get "buffs" or new playstyles and the others would be neglected
and I dont see that happening logistically
i think the active admin is a really good idea
cause its independent
Ah yeah, Pomni? I really kinda had to make her more standout than the rest
yeah I think the game has alot of room for new active related things
Not just that.

Due to her appearance within the Pilot of Digital Circus, I had to get creative for Glitch (https://twitter.com/glitch_prod) to have make sense on both accounts.
The Amazing Digital Circus is a psychological dark comedy about cute cartoon characters who hate their lives and want to leave 🎪😀

And hoo, I gave it my all for her to be quite special.
is pomni like a free license character or would the dev get sued? xD
Don't worry - I've tackled that the moment I was finished creating it.
Practically waiting for a response from them, as well as:
