#Neovim tutorial, Documentation contribution

Hello,

I had a wonderful support regarding enabling JuliaFormatter.jl and StaticLint.jl on Neovim here. I want to contribute by updating Tools section with a new tutorial for configuring Neovim with Julia's LSP.

Are there any guidelines? Is there a specific moderator I should contact? Contribute page has no guidelines for documentation contribution.

@spiral narwhal hi. your contribution to julia is not limited btw. the page includes

Documentation
Create new documents: Write new sections of existing documentation, docstrings, and tutorials.
Improve existing documents: Update outdated documentation, fix typos and broken links.
I will discuss this with you once Github stops rate-limiting neovim plugin repos. (i guess ppl love to Lazy sync all the time)

Vim is based on Do-it-yourself design philosophy

it's the first portal anyone checks

and what part of the website? the Contribute page? like add neovim?

That's what the main website recommends:

can you give me again some context? yes it recommends julia-vim but how is this related to neovim? julia-vim plugin is redundant when you use nvim-lspconfig.

Do you recommend it?

#

Those did not work with me

#

I feel it deserves more documentation

i guess that needs to be updated. even my contribution to the wiki was 3 years ago

So I just push request the repo

  1. you fork first
  2. create a branch
  3. start doing changes
  4. PR to upstream

I know these ..

for the Wiki, you just edit it.

#

youre open to edits. it's a Wiki after all

spiral narwhal
#

we won't do anything on Julia's main website?

#

won't add a link for neovim, for example?

abstract lodge
#

tbh i dont see the need to? well personally for me i dont need to. i havent looked at the website for the documentation as i believe something like this is documented in the editor itself and LSP is language-agnostic so you just have to put it there. but if you think it's worth the effort, then go for it.

How do I send the website moderators?
