Ordered some filler, primer, black paint, and gold paint. Tamiya Colors TS spray was kinda pricey cuz of shipping but maybe I will test out the quality of that compared to the Krylon Fusion for Plastics paint I bought at a later time. I am not too confident in my ability to paint by hand with Tamiya Colors X-n unfortunately. If it's too glossy I will go with a matte clear finish but I'll get some opinions before making that decision once it's all painted.

Actually I think matte might be the move
I think it would reduce the appearance of future scratches and fingerprints
If it's too glossy that sort of thing becomes really noticeable over time
I'm just gonna go with that
yeah, glossy has the pendulum problem, becomes a scratch magnet
Yeah my NSo PenC is scratched up on the back already
From contact with the protective shell
it's normal, plastic is solid but very low on the hardness scale, so dust is enough to leave a mark. and plastic on plastic even more.
the bricks, because of all the texture, are way less noticeable
Yeah my DM20s still look brand new, aside from some finger smudges on the screen. The clasp on my protective case for that broke a while ago unfortunately.
Making things with my hands makes me feel way less unemployed
The problem is that the starting costs are usually too high for someone with no money.
Or very little at least
Yes it is
I use the 1200 mAh version, which provides an autonomy of approximately one week. In my locality, the availability of batteries with connectors compatible with LILYGO is restricted, which led me to weld the additional cable with connector, supplied in the TTGO packaging, directly to battery cables.
And I use the box as a "case" to protect the device
Yeah I had to change the battery end to make it compatible as well. I also used the battery end pre-packaged with the TTGO T-Display, glad they included one.
Oh I never considered the box as a protective case tho
Nice background btw
The end is a JST 1.25MM end, I bought a bag of them just in case future batteries have the wrong end
2-pin specifically also
Is it V-Pet Go?
Yeah
ACE!
One prong so far, unfortunately I gotta attend to other matters. I think the nickel strip looks better than the resistor leg, unfortunately I have a LOT of super glue to scrape off since that was holding the legs in place
This is the original one I made for myself
I was working on the bottom prongs first, since idc too much about the mono to color adapter
I should have sanded this thing and coated it at least with a thin layer of paint also, but back then I was less acquainted or familiar with that sort of thing.
I also got keyrings to add to the WifiCOM
I think the stars are p cute
Oki finally able to finish it
It ain’t pretty but
It has none of the previous connection issues as before
I’ve done a few tests
Haven’t had anything like a copymon or punching bag battle fail
I just hate the 3D printed look
I look forward to trying to improve it with sanding and painting
I used to be a print machine operator. Did that for almost 5 years, kinda miss it. Seems like no one is willing to hire for such a role anymore tho.
It is partially because of that job tho that I dislike seeing things I’ve (me, myself) done that are half-arsed or low quality.
@craggy dew Are?
did you solder the resistor legs to the nickel strip ?
Because a large number of machines have been made, nickel plates have been used to replace the resistor pins from the beginning.
Yeah it’s a much nicer look than the resistor legs
Hi OP, w0rld app is adding support for Bluetooth Coms in the next update, please consider the possibility of adding support to your project
@tight meadow I'm eagerly awaiting the new update. This system is very good.
Hi, I found this, do you think that is compatible? I think it needs a battery too; which one would be suitable? https://a.aliexpress.com/_ExGnXkK
No. This one is the S3 variant.
Search for lilygo T-Display
I am aware of the reported bugs (mugendramon, stingmon, etc. in the comm menu), but updates are being delayed due to a lot of busy work lately.
My project is focusing on add-ons rather than vpets, and updates are stuck because I lack ideas for new add-ons.
Cool, let the vpet for other projects is a good option and concentrate in addons 👍
The wificom has recently been very glitchy for me when playing w0rld. Sometimes I have to boot back to main menu and back to wificom, and then reconnect wifi to get it to work properly again. Anyone else experiencing this?
It’s been a thing for a while, we don’t know why it does this
At least
I don’t
Either way a good way to avoid having to reboot, you can try this before you engage combat if your ESP32 has not been used for a battle in a couple minutes:
1.) Disconnect WifiCOM
2.) Choose “Reconnect WiFi” on your ESP32, let it do its thing
3.) Turn WifiCOM settings back on
4.) Try to load a Digimon into the game
It’s also best to avoid loading up your Digimon until you need to fight.
Also after you load a Digimon, your WiFiCOM shouldn’t need to be reconnected if you stay in battle for a while
Oh you already said some of that pfff
I’m an idiot
My reading comprehension maybe isn’t the best today
Thx
Hi, having a question with this device. Does it have compatibility with nacastorage?
In what way? You can use the wificom tool to upload your Digimon on actual vpets onto Nacastorage. So yes, it is compatible with it. The vpets you raise on this Lilygo VPET, however, are not uploadable to Nacastorage.
Now I've found an additional bug; Colosseum mode uses colored pendulums and colored digivises to connect and fight at all.
Is there a solution?
Hello is it possible to customize the sprite with different ones?
If so, any instruction have to do so
Sorry if this is known, but... Someone is selling these on AliExpress now? Is that normal?
I was scrolling Ali and though, "I've seen that design before... Wait!"
i saw this the other day too, its not the only one either.
i know the pico terminal project also has a seller on ali express but joushiikuta specifically said he doesnt care if people purchase premade devices as he doesnt sell items. these esp32 devices however seem wildly over priced tbh
Looks like it’s missing prongs in the pictures too
They do look like resin prints kinda or maybe they sanded and painted them
If it’s the latter then the price tag makes a bit of sense
The clear one in the picture is probably resin at least
But they’re selling the red one
The cost of parts is like around $23-$25 for one of these, probably cheaper if you mass produce shells off your own 3D printer.
I see a $70 one, same creator who does the Pico Terminals on AliExpress
Thing is the pics seem awfully similar to the og berat45 pics
Like idk if any of these product pics are original so im a bit hesitant to give them money
They are quite expensive for what they are selling.
No prongs, no speaker, no accelerometer.
if you buy material and make your oneself it will be more cheap. And also you can make same price with prongs, speaker, accelerometer.
For the record, I wasn't recommending I'd buy from Aliexpress - it was more my concern that it was dangerous or illegal, wasn't sure. 🙂 Thanks though!!
yeah it just seems expensive for what it is considering its shipping from ome unknown person
maybe stupid question but what is the difference between the vpet part of the Lilygo vpet and the V-Pet GO? I understand that this one have more functionalities being acom, and allowing battle between color and non color devices, but I'm curious about the fan vpet part
The Lilygo Vpet basically cannot communicate with other Lilygo Vpets. ACOM/WifiCOM with Bandai vpets is the functionality it has atm
V-Pet Go Digimon can battle online or in-person with each other and some color devices
Lilygo does have the Tournament mode also
Up to 16 users can load their digimon into a roster and then battle it out until one comes out victorious
Mono-to-color adapter also for Lilygo Vpet
I see thank you. And in both cases can I choose the roster? My favorite is veemon so I would like to raise veemons
Gave +1 Digi-rep to @slim cliff (current: #161 - 14)
I believe V-Pet Go has the Wind Guardians PenC egg and for this Lilygo WifiCOM V-Pet it uses the DMC roster. You can mod it in on the Lilygo WifiCOM vpet tho if it’s not already there (I lowkey can’t remember what all the DMC roster has)
Unfortunately Wind Guardians doesn’t have Veemon but it has Veedramon, AeroVeedramon, and UlforceVeedramon.
My favorite veemon evolution so it works for me😎
Thank you
best way to think of it imo is the lilygo v-pet is a companion device for bandai vpets, the vpet go is a standalone experience
Yeah Lilygo is like a bridge between Bandai Digimon V-Pets and Digimon fan-made online services
does it matter which lily go is used for this outside of it being a 16mb
Lilygo T-Display, not S3
That's sick!
And battery? Please sir

Any plans to add BTCom functionality to this soon?
