Modding a DMC / PenC has always taken alot of time for me because I have to

  1. Search for the sprites on Google Drives / Discord
  2. Split the spritesheets to individual images
  3. Rename the individual images to the correct number
  4. Search for the stage / attribute of each digimon
  5. Modding the bin on https://dmc-mod-app.pages.dev and uploading the images and editing the attributes accordingly

I'm trying to make this whole process more seamless and the first step is make searching and downloading sprites easier with this new site i've created.

For now you can:

  1. Search for sprites by name
  2. Filter by stage/attribute/author/type/size
  3. View all the sprites
  4. Download in PenC or DMC format and rename accordingly

  1. Submit feedback / suggestions
  2. Submit sprites

Future Work
In the future this feature will be integrated into https://dmc-mod-app.pages.dev to make the process more seamless.

Also the end goal is to have an app that allows for people to share their mods (without the bin file) so that others can search / download mods for their own devices

Just had a quick browse, Aegisdramon, Gryphomon and Omnimon Zwart Defeat are credited to me but they're by Shiver - also there's a second one named Gryphomon who's secretly Ajatarmon 🤣

I'm 99% sure there are some sprites from Digimon Unlimited that all I did was color them in so I'm not sure who should be attributed for those (iirc metal phantomon and machinedramon for sure)

Yeah honestly that's probably the only reasonable way to do it tbh, a lot of them will likely be just edits or recolors of Bandai/GGG/etc

What I've been doing with my latest colored sprites is send my name along with the original artists

I think it should as well. Just to be clear it is not my intent not to attribute GGG/Digimon Unlimited. But as a third party who compiles and makes these sprites available for people in an easy to consume manner, I don't know the source of the sprites other than information of who uploaded the sprites on Discord or Google Drive. And I have to the best of my ability attributed who I can based on my limited information

I would gladly appreciate help to correct the attribution, and would update the database accordingly.

I'll probably put up a Google sheet. If there's any mistakes in attribution feel free to comment/update and I'll make the changes.

At least for Ray's drive I added comments on all the sprites I personally created with the sources for the sprites if I didn't make them myself so that'd be good to look out for

So there are a handful of sprites (essentially all) by Phrogmentado that are cropped way off:

So the sprites are 48x48 so each 'pixel' has been blown up to a 3x3 square - a lot of them have an entire row missing on either side.

Super easy fixes on them, just moving them over to the left and up, then manually drawing in the remaining missing pixels.

Wasn't sure if it was something that had been caught, or if it was because they were formatted in a sprite sheet that was automagically cropped before being uploaded to the site

They're automatically cropped. Program might have missed incorrectly cropped. I'll update it

Lol yeah, it's because I do most my sprites in the Digimon Unlimited format, so the frames are not in the proper order for the color devices

yeah issue is on my end. The program that splits the spritesheet probably calculated the wrong offsets

They're gorgeous and look fantastic, just wanted to drop in and let you guys know! I was downloading a few to replace some of the official Bandai sprites that could have been better done. When I was running through them I spotted one or two off, but then it turns out that it's all of them lol

I found that some of the sprites I had uploaded to the database disappeared.

I found some images have slight coloring errors, and I have submitted new images.

Also the source says Digimon unlimited but it's not from DU it's just from me

(There's also shinegreymon burst mode duplicated and one version says it's from pendulum color but it's not)

Lol there are a handful of sprites that are like... Sorta wonky if that makes sense? Like the 16x16 sprites are upscaled to 48x48, but there are a slew of them credited to "Unknown" that are scaled very odd, like some pixels are 3x scaled and some are 2x if that makes sense?

DMUL is tricky as not all those sprites were by GGG
Some do use them as a base for coloring, others are new
Wish there was a handy list of who made what for DMUL cryogre

I have seen the unpacking of DMUL before, and it seems that DMUL collects various resources from the Internet and Unlimited and directly uses them.

They created some 18x18 sprites themselves. So it's strange to zoom in to 48x48. 😂

Hmm...the styles of the various sprites are very different and not unified.
It looks like DMUL also uses official and fan-made Vital Bracelet sprites, as well as works other than Digimon.

Credits should be within the site if applicable, most of these sprites are free to use as long as it is not commercial iirc

Would anyone be interested in 24x24 sized sprites, upscaled to 2X for Color devices? Slightly more detail than the 16x16 sprites but still has that dot pixel retro look compared to hi-res 48x48?
